This is such a great idea! I have the new Mercedes F1 and a few other large Technic cars that would look great mounted on this overhang right by my Lego display. I'm going to try this technique, thanks!

Perfect! I'm planning on getting the new 1989 Batmobile - no shelf space, but definitely space to mount it vertically on the wall.

Awesome way to enter your Lego city room. Awesome thought and use of wall space.

Very cool F1 cars. Would be great if LEGO did more of those.

Hi Alex, I am not so familiar with the technic elements, can you please list the 3 element numbers used to wallmount so I can order them from bricklink? That will be the noodle/cylinder piece, the end piece, and the axel stub. Thank you.

Super cool. Great info. I've been looking on getting one of those cars. Kinda pricey. Love your city. My son is about yours age and he helps with bricklink store and scores lots free pieces for his stop motion.

That's awesome! I enjoy the hobby more when my son is involved. These cars are pricey, but darn they are cool! Thanks for the comment.

I think those cars look cooler on the wall, then in your office. 👍👍

great idea, and as long as you dont have to worry about the youngest trying to pull it off the wall anyway

You should paint a black stripe on one wall and have the F1's like they are racing

Alex you can get 8880 alternative build which was a F1 😉

  • @wings9925

Neat, but I'd be concerned about all that load going through one beam and one axle. I'd prefer multiple attachment points, albeit at the expense of more holes in the wall and more complexity/accuracy in doing so

  • @F-Los

I think they'd look better at an angle

Hey as a side note and I don't know if you can answer this question, do you think its possible to put the UCS Millennium Falcon, X-Wing and the T-47 Snowspeeder together in a glass see through coffee table altogether as oppose to displaying it on the shelve, which is quite nerve racking IMHO

I’m thinking of mounting my 3 technic cars above the doors, as they’re so big and really can’t fit them anywhere else

I have them, but haven't tried this. I created angled displays for them.

They have taken a back seat, sorry. I just purchased a shelf to help display them. Once that is up I will get to building them. Thanks for the reminder.
