Ayo btw Nurgle is actually the god of life, not death. His domain is a giant jungle of all different types of life, it’s just that most of his life that he controls are bad for people. But in the end, he’d have all life prosper if he gained control of the universe, viruses just as much as fauna and flora

I got priced out of the hobby a few years back. Been playing properly since 2nd edition. Even played a bit of rogue trader. 40k is one of the best hobbies ever. It's just waaaaaaaaay to expensive. Cost of minis, terrain, table, books, materials, and TIME.
I've recently found d&d and rpg games... Problem solved

This has to be one of the better introductory videos for someone who has never experienced the Warhammer 40k universe before. it was made simple and clear as any other sci-fi RPGs which was good as the 40k background can be deep & over complex and most times can be daunting for the new player. well done on that,

I am so keen to play this game. I had a great time with Dark Heresy on my channel, but my players didn't like it much. They love shadowrun so i hope they will like this game more
Yeah I was thinking this game reminds me a lot of Shadowrun. I know Shadowrun is hopelessly complicated, but at least the dice system is pretty easy to understand.
Not too fond of dice pool systems, so I'll have to wait and see how it all plays out. That said, this is purely a personal preference so I'm just happy to see more official GW roleplaying systems.

I adore Warhammer 40k and have been looking forward to Wrath and Glory since I heard it was a thing...that being said there are a lot of issues with this game. The biggest being balance, tier 2 Psykers can just decimate tier 2 enemies with Gout of Flame, it hits INSANELY hard and requires a Willpower test to act and an Agility test to put themselves out. That's just off the top of head, it's a solid first pass but I feel like if they had actually play tested this it would have highlighted a lot of these issues. Other than that melee weapon skill attacks uses you Initiative not strength or agility and the damage types are confusing as hell (soak, shock, and wounds are weird).
Thanks for bringing this game to my attention! I was just lamenting the old WH40K rpgs, and now there's this!

My gaming group has been waiting for this since they announced it. We've been playing Warhammer 40k RPGs and Warhammer Fantasy RPG's for decades now. I still have fond memories of our Rogue Trader game, where we all helped build the Victris Rogue Trader Dynasty from a single small Q-ship freighter up to an entire armada of ships, led by an ancient, archaeotech Grand Cruiser called the Aquila Aureus, and our Deathwatch game, in which a single squad of space marines operating covertly on a planet long-lost to the Imperium single-handedly brought the planet to heel and reincorporated it into the Imperium of Man. Pro-tip: when the Dark Angels Librarian gets access to Telepathy disciplines, you can kiss your secrets goodbye.
And when the Salamander gets access to melta weapons, you can kiss your everything else goodbye!

This was an interesting starter and I look forward to the rest of the series to see how this game handles. However my biggest question is, does this have Orders Militant included in the base game?
I understand you'll go into detail about character creation and that in another video. However this will be a sticking point for me in considering buying the product or not. I'm a fan of the Sisters and feel they get the shaft to much from Games Workshop.

When describing the dice system, I was reminded of World of Darkness, changing d10s to d6s. Am I the only one with that impression?

I thought going through the rules was really quick and a second watch just explained and clarified everything. I have to compliment you for this outstanding short form basic introduction. Holy smokes.
Any 40k discussion claiming that 'hope is not lost' doesn't understand the grim darkness of eternal war. There is no hope, there are no heroes, everything ends badly for everyone. That's the thematic premise of the setting.
Maybe I'm being picky, but is it really called the "Wrath Dice"? That seems like a pretty clear mistake if there's only one of them in each dice pool. Clearly it should be called the "Wrath Die".
In modern standard English, dice is both singular and plural.
I had to look this up and at least The New Oxford Dictionary agrees with you. I might have a hard time changing my thoughts about this and might continue using "die" because "dice" as singular just seems wrong to me somehow. Still, I can stop being pedantic about other people using it any more and every day you learn something new is also a good day.

After not playing 40k for about 4 years (I started in 2nd edition). I recently read about Cadia and it actually had an emotional effect on me lol

I'm not getting it. How does shock and soaking actually work? When you take damage are you gaining shock or losing it? If it's gaining, Is your characters shock score a hard limit or can it be exceeded? Can someone help, please.

Included I believe, so a DN3 roll would have 2 regular dice and a wrath die

Hey Taking20! I just found your channel today and have really been enjoying your content! I have a quick question for you about DMing that I hope you can help me with. I have some local friends/family who are thinking about getting into DnD, but there are no existing groups in the area and nobody in our group has much experience, if any, playing tabletop games. I used to write stories and love creating villains, so I'm likely to be the DM for at least the first campaign or two if we do start a DnD group.
The problem with this is that I've played only about 10 hours of DnD ever. Is it even possible to be a decent DM with so little experience? I'd love to start a campaign, but am uncertain if it's realistic to do so. I'd really appreciate your advice on this. :)

Depends. Some are actually wracked by pain and only find relief if they survive the first stages of the infection.
If you're in Nurgles legion it's safe to assume you did. Nurgle represents a state of perpetual decay, death is counter productive to it's agenda.

I have read through the system now, and it looks like fun for one-off games and short-term campaigns. Very simple system to learn for anyone familiar with d6 pools. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like a good choice for a long term campaign to me. Seems a bit too D&D 4.0 for my tastes. It is too forgiving with no long term consequences for the PCs. It feels like a video game on tabletop

Daemon is pronounced the same as demon. It’s an archaic spelling of the word, but is still used in certain fields today.
I have and probably will always say Daemon like that. I hate pronouncing "Dae" like 'Dee'.
I thought it was just British English VS American English?
Not in pathfinder, demons and daemons are very different.
I'm pretty sure it's not as the Brits do have an ISP called Demon Internet. GW probably went with the archaic to make it look more gothic.

You forgot malal in your chaos gods. I know he got renamed and reincluded a few years ago, I just can't remember the new name. Also, Khorne thrives from honorable combat and slaughter, not bloodshed specifically.

Another dice pool game... I want to see the Warhammer 40K setting with a BRP mechanic! Basic roleplaying rules are so much more smooth than any dice pool can ever be, and also, it has passions and traits (as in the King Arthur Pendragon game). It absolutely outshines this thing immensely!

@Alien Alien That's a shame. Also it seems a bit lore loose too. The start of the book it establishes the party as being a space marine, commissar, tech priest and an imperial assassin. Bit gonzo if you're into the lore.
