    The legendary bundles are incredibly expensive BUT I wouldn't completely discount them. Having used the Romulan one myself recently (I picked it up on the sale) you do actually get a lot more than meets the eye. You get a whole bunch of slots as well as a full compliment of bridge officers that come fully decked out in very rare gear with almost all base skills already unlocked. You also get a compressive list of personal equipment's including kit mods and full Starship equipment including weapons, DECS and consoles. Sure most of this stuff you'll cycle out over time for fleet or rep gear but until then the gear it gives you is quite solid at getting you on your feet. Then of course there's the ship, in the romulan bundle once you've unlocked the full mastery package it gives you the starship trait account wide automatically which is a nice reward. It is expensive but it's doing a lot more than just getting your level up.

    PSA: If you're going to do this for your new KDF Recruit (event starts on Feb 9, IIRC), don't skip the tutorial. You need to do the tutorial to get the device that lets you complete the Recruit tasks.

    Brilliant! If you have the EC and want to level-up an alt quickly, this is the way to do it.

      @Taiko206 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, i'm also not one for going fast through a game . I like to enjoy a new ship when i get promoted, even been skipping those pesky "Double XP" events .

  • @gallendugall8913
    @gallendugall8913 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This works because the rewards are intended for end game where each level requires 155,872 XP, but that much XP would get you all the way to level 29 from 0.
    You can cut down on the price further by buying XP boosts which are usually pretty cheap, around 50 credits per point and the bonuses stack. Ultimately level 65 doesn't do much for you since you also have to level your skills to be end game effective, and even then you are going to need reputation points (again the boosts are really cheap) to unlock those traits, so some grind is inevitable.

    • @CasualSAB
      @CasualSAB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aye, can also be in an Alpha fleet of an armada for an additional 20% XP bonus.
      This certainly doesn't help people long term with the overall grind to get the character setup, but personally if I am doing story content I would rather do it at a high level with everything unlocked for me to use. Though that is removing some of the challenge ofc.

    I maintain that the biggest mistake STO made was focusing their content delivery mechanism narrative heavy episodes. Waiting months for another couple hours of content.. ultimately my tolerance for repeating these long episodes has run out and I'm starving for alternatives to play.

    • @CasualSAB
      @CasualSAB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, the long wait between story content right now is killer. Very noticeable dips between content releases.

    • @deavonw
      @deavonw 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@CasualSAB the quality has never been higher admittedly. Which is fine but the game needs another content pillar. What we have now is just patrols, tfos, and episodes and that's all...
      Say what you want about things like the Dyson Sphere and Battlezones but at least they were ambitious and had interesting mechanics.

    Thank you, this is great news. I haven't played in a year but I bought the lifetime subscription back in 2013 so I probably have enough saved up to do this method and finally have a level 65 character without the grind. :D

  • @ShannaraAK
    @ShannaraAK 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Not currently applicable. Something must have changed since this video was released and today. Ran 24 missions on a level 20 Romulan. All succeeded, and got to level 43. Plus, I needed millions of EC to purchase the DOFFs in order to have enough to do this.

    I'm confused as a new player, how are we supposed to have 3-4 million credits by the time we're level 12? Just for alts I guess?

    • @CasualSAB
      @CasualSAB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is largely an approach you would use on alts when you want to skip the story missions and jump right into endgame.
      It is also a cheaper alternative to the level up tokens the game offers in the store, as the video details.

    You can Get to level 30 in under 2 hours doing elite patrols in a Jem'hadar vanguard ship solo.

      I leveled a character this afternoon in about an hour. With a jem ship and the free phasers from the legendary discoprise. I also use numerous consoles and weapons from past events. I also buy at least 2 25k skill point boosts. I do it often enough cause I'm leveling a private fleet and I have all the Recruit rewards so once I level to 30 I get almost 32k fleet dil plus regular ore. I use this character specifically for fleet marks.

    • @CasualSAB
      @CasualSAB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're a brand new player, then this method isn't really for you.
      This method is meant for people who already have built up characters, who then want to skip the leveling process on newer characters they make. In those cases, they would transfer the Research Assignments or EC through the account bank to that new character.

  • @joshbreaux5475

    • @CasualSAB
      @CasualSAB  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're brand new, I'd recommend just progressing normally by playing through the story content.
      If you want to level quicker on a budget, then you can run some patrols to level a little bit faster. Which I will covering when I redo this video later this year.
