      Hey Jon,
it’s Mio here (a friend of Mark Joyner).
I loved the video and I was VERY happy to hear you talk about… the word BUT! Because a lot of people “ignore” it nowadays.
      Love,
      Mio
P.S. Video Idea 💡: you could talk about some real estate copy!

Jon love your videos and content. Having been looking to see if you do an nlp course purely for either phone or on person sales. I understand what you teach is for copywrting sales and can be used for most sakes situations. If you don't do a course for nlp persuasion sales could you recommend someone maybe the person that taught you ? Thanks

But .... your video totally rocks Jon! 😉
I didn't know about the "but" issue as far as stopping and pivoting the context of the content after the "but" ... AND STILL I had the understanding that if you use the b-word, then it tells the mind whatever was before it was untrue.
    For example:
"You are an amazing copywriter but what if you..." and then that is saying, "You are not an amazing copywriter... etc."
    Any thoughts on this perspective?
... BUT of course you, Jon, are definitely the best copywriter I know (which is why I love having you as my mentor 🤗🥰) hugs💖

You're correct - it does both. Negates the prior and focuses on whatever comes after it. : )

I have been an NLP Trainer since 1985. Avoiding the pattern of a positive followed by "but" followed by a "negative" works not just in marketing but in personal and business relationships. When I work with corporate teams, we teach them to say "and" instead and their ability to have difficult conversations that result in solutions and better relationships skyrockets. "But" in that pattern makes people put up walls and be defensive. It can feel wrong to say "and" instead of "but" when you are speaking and the listeners don't even notice. And it allows the listener to hear what you are saying rather than be defensive. It's powerful with friends and loved ones too!

@@JonBensonSalesCopySecrets I am reminded how similar persuaion tactics I used as a Sales Manager for Radio Shack all those years ago. Back then, we did our best to persuade ethically but some people in that game just didn't understand their role and gave selling a bad name. It's great to relearn and sturdy this art form with words.
