My plea to indian students is : Please dont go through any consultancies. Most of these are super shady and connect you with blacklisted universities. If you cant get into a top university, its just not worth it. Me and most of my friends who are in the US, all applied on our own. Thats the way to go.
Even getting into a top university is not worth it, try getting a job in 2023 you have very little chance at the moment. Besides I would advice Indians who have no direct relatives to sponsor their GC to not even think of attempting US now or ever again in the future atleast for thenext 250 years.
I am sorry to hear. My recommendation would be: 1. Always come to state university. If you want to switch after one semester, you could do that. 2. Always bring travelers check with you to show one semester's fee and living expenses. This will act as a proof for expenses at the port of entry. 3. If you got a scholarship, good for you. Keep travelers check in the bank - just in case. 4. Delete unnecessary apps, chats, emails from electronic devices. This is new, but lets be more careful.
My heart goes out to you guys who genuinely wanted to study but instead were treated like shit!! I was speechless especially after the five seconds incident. Kudos to Parth for sharing their side of the story, the true story!
True Abhit.. We are genuine students with an intention to study and succeed. But the immigration falsely accused us of random things and stated we are not LEGITIMATE STUDENTS TO ENTIRE USA.. 😢

To be honest “Indian students” have been breaking rules by doing this openly (I have done my masters in Midwest so I know the mentality of off-campus jobs) and things have been escalating. This is like unfortunate event happened to honest students. Sorry for you guys. But this is a real issue where our own students come here, take rules for granted using freedom in wrong way and then honest people suffer. That’s why I always say USCIS should crackdown on shady consultancies and strict action against rule breakers.
Absolutely agree with your comment. I have people in my family too who have broken the law and taken jobs. Many Indians are guilty of breaking laws thinking they won't get caught. But this is the result for honesty in this case
It's not about breaking rules but having a valid visa and not letting them in .Wonder if they could be treated the same in another country .Zwhat could be the reaction. Usa immigration behaves like a law into themselves
I am really curious what does the University have to say in this? This has to be brought to the attention of politicians and human rights lawyers in the USA. There is no justification for taunting.
Universities are quietly paying Indian Pimps (Agents, so-called consultants) to bring more foreign students to their campus so their bank accounts get fat with 3x of the tuition and fees. It is all a racket and the poor students and their families are innocent victims in this.
@mesbahulhoda9539 There is no supporting statement from the University stating that are students with legitimate admission in their programs and should be given the rights that America recognizes ALL human beings have of innocence unless PROVEN guilty. That's nothing unreasonable!!!
@@meerapatankar7275 if uni says it, then from next year onwards, most of the students to that univ will be sent back and obviously univ looses international students and $$$$
Everything happens for a good reason ... Dont lose hope fellas ... India is a land of opportunity. You guys will succeed in life. Time will fly .. and it will heal everything...
Just a friendly reminder, students do take help from consultants to make the process smooth but here they expect the students to independently apply for the colleges and prepare for interview by themselves without paying any external agencies to work on behalf of them. That is a drawback if they’re able to find some conversations between you and the consultant. With that simple reason they can deny entry into the USA. Just be careful with your chats and emails.
Why the same Immigration agents after retiring start their TH-cam channel to advise these kids on how to face the questions and how to prepare their applications? Why is that not illegal.
There are so many red flags as one of the comment mentioned. I completed my MBA from UT Dallas and from my experience officers are generally very supportive . Students are not 100% clean in this case. Big lesson for new students.
Honestly I wouldn’t say so, because everyone does not have the same experience all the time. This is pretty clear they were targeted and I have heard some immigration officers just arbitrarily make up their mind to trap someone just to feel like they did their job. I usually don’t have issues but once I was asked to show my grade card on my phone once coming back from vacation in India. My friend had his US bank account details asked and unnecessary questions like why was the account created with this bank.
I agree with you. I was once interning with a consultancy like 10 years ago and 1 thing I learned is that nobody gets rejected without a reason. The problem is that people don’t admit or accept things they have done wrong in terms of the process, interview or even the documents. They just act clueless. But they know their mistakes
Very very disheartening to see them get treated like this. I hope they can find the strength to work hard and still achieve their goals. We are with you guys.
@@balajisrinivas5028 Perhaps you should write to the relevant departments of US and India that this episode has shaken people's confidence in the fairness of the US education / immigration system. I just remembered my traumatic experience back in 2016, when it was my first time coming to usa on F-1, I have gone through same treatment as like this guys and my heart goes to you.. As I had nothing to hide and everything was genuine, it took me 8 long hours and answering each officer who were taking turns to investigate. Finally I was allowed to enter USA and they even made arrangements for my next connecting flight. I still do remember from my flight other guys were deported and I was lucky enough to enter.. Stay strong guys!
@@ps8240 - No, I didn't face any difficulties in getting OPT or H1 as I was not any fault. That year it was bad for mostly all international students as it was happening at some major airports, they were scrutinizing strictly and I was there just at wrong place and time.
It's frustrating to see people who are trying to coming to this country LEGALLY to pursue opportunities are being deterred like this, while thousands of low-skilled (and quite frankly really unwanted) people are ILLEGALLY are getting red-carpet treatment at our southern border to come into the US. Hoping both of you get your due justice at the end of all this.
Actually low skilled laborers are wanted and needed in the USA. Who picks the food? Why don't Indians and Chinese come to the USA to pick fruit and vegetable and cotton? Isn't it better to study in your own country and start companies there? There is too much red tape and high taxes in the USA. Stay home. You can even study in your own language. Much easier.
What does the red carpet treatment entail? Are you willing to get that red carpet treatment? Also those "unwanted" people are literally running the entire agricultural economy of US.
Thank you for sharing this Parth. This was very disheartening to hear. I hope Balaji and Manisha get the justice they deserve. More power to you guys ❤️ It would be really helpful if you could make a video about all the rights that immigrants have in such scenarios.
two thing I noted from this whole story was 1)To pay my college fee in advance so it gives 1 less reason for the immigration department to deport me 2) Luck plays a big factor in all your endeavors
@@catcoder12SLU is an extremely reputed college - the red flags are the details on their phones, that they were traveling in a group, and it was almost the first week of college. Just make sure to keep the visa interview a month or two before and then your flight to the US, 2-3 weeks before your orientation.
getting admitted to a university, then passing the visa interview, they were stopped right at the tip. May Allah put them in a better place than they applied to. 😊
I did my master's at USC, where tuition fees are paid based on the number of units(credits) you registered for. Many universities only let you register for these courses after in-person passport verification. So, you would not know how much your tuition will cost when landing. Immigration officers must be well-informed about this.
If they were able to show proof of funds like bank loan, account statements when questioned, it would've been resolved right away. some immigration consultancies prepare fake documents to prove funds and looks like same happened in their case.
But they can get approximate amounts of traveling checks … man they arrived without any funds to be able to pay in future… bet they would take one credit and work rest time
@@anusehgal7253 Doesn't work like that for international students. Colleges only issue i20 when sufficient proof of funds is provided. Also, there's a minimum credit limit per semester, like 7 credits or so.
@@anusehgal7253 I took a loan during my masters and my bank only transferred it once I reached US and got my classes assigned to me. This doesn’t happen to everyone. I had my immigration at Atlanta airport on 25th August and touchwood everything went smoothly. I suspect they must’ve found visa preparation questions or proof that consultancies applied on behalf of these students in their phones. I feel really bad for them and I wish their experience hadn’t been so rough
Such traumatic experiences make future students to not even consider going to the states! Such inhuman behavior from the officers and the many loopholes in the system. It’s absolutely pathetic! More power to Manisha and Balaji, this is from a fellow Bengaluruean Hope you guys get the Justice you deserve
But how can they go without paying any tuition in advance…? For kindergarten I have to pay the whole year in advance. They reached their no funds no tuition even american citizens Students also hv to pay
For fees students should have mentioned that he needs to sit down with his advisor/counsellor & discuss + decide the courses they should be taking in the first semester.. I am pretty certain that fees are to be paid once you choose your courses after registration!
Took a lot of courage for the two to come in and share their story on the internet. Don't lose your heart. Keep up with your good work. The world is pretty large, it's not the end of the world if you did not get to US, you can find yourself probably in a different place where you may enjoy your lives, reach the goals you initially set out to do. Stay positive. I wish you guys the best in your future. For the host, you should have invited an attorney during the podcast, and let the attorney address the two and may be provide some guidance. A sound advice from a professional could have been more useful. And for the rest, if you are ever in a situation with the police, ask for a lawyer!!
I’m sorry this happened to you Here are a few takeaways for other students like me: - they were travelling in a huge group - they didn’t seem to have sufficient funds - they were all going to the midwest to study - as an f1 student, we can’t depend on on campus job to pay for our expenses, we need to show funds - visa interview answers seem scripted Lessons for the rest of us - don’t travel in a group - don’t prepare for visa interview - have enough funds to pay for the education and stay All the best to the rest!
Okay, but none of these takeaways makes sense and warrants deportation. Seriously, there is literally nothing illegal here from my point of view. If one has scholarship that covers most of their expenses, why should they worry about funds? When I was given PhD admission, I didn't have a single penny in my bank account because I was awarded assistantship funding plus scholarship that covers everything. Even the tuition fees was waived. What bullshit is this.
Manisha and Balaji, I truly believe the both of you will fulfill your dreams and have your ideal careers irrespective of location. Do not let some disgusting, inhumane authorities shake you. Stay strong, get over this obstacle and keep going!

Really sorry to hear what happened with them, however I do think having proof of preparation for immigration questions and mock interviews on your phone, and not paying the semester fee are two big red flags!
Why have these students had Whatsapp interviewing questions and answers with Immigration? They probably are not good at English. Definitely a red flag and then not paying for the semester. See, I was in Indian Immigration for few years. So, as per my experience I felt like I should share this with you. ( 48:20 ) As you said that once you get the deportation stamp/remark on your passport (specially from USA) or say record, that doesn't mean you can't go to any other (non USA) country (even for job or PR) or there will be trouble for you and all. Don't worry at all. You can go anywhere except USA. As you were worried about your future, let me tell you one thing, that remark will be in Indian and USA records only. Also, every time or many times you will be (may be) asked in Indian immigration about your US deportation story (be prepared for it all the time). I advice you to not get irritated with those interrogations. Coz that's a part of procedure. Coz we face so many cases per day that, we have to stop and ask about it. If you are clear, if all your documents are clear, I tell you my brother, no one will stop you to go abroad. If anyone stops, file a case in the court, they will have to answer in the court in written and if they loose the case there will be trouble for every responsible officer of the Indian immigration. So, what my point is.. we won't STOP you, we will just ASK you the related qs. So, don't think that your life will be spoiled, you won't be able to go abroad due to this and all. You still can go to Europe (as you had transit flight from Paris so you or anyone might think otherwise). They have your zero deportation record. I have seen so many Indian deportees going to other countries and have a comfortable life. This has happened with you for the first time, that's why you are having these thoughts. Most important: Don't tear a single page of the passport. Not even a small portion of passport. That will be a cancelled passport and you won't be able to clear even Indian immigration with that. If you have any issue with any remarks on passport, consult with the RPO and apply for new passport. Please follow the official guidelines of passport office here. (I am just giving one advice from my side.) (It's too late in the night for me, but as you were worried, I had to write this. It is for all.) PN: I don't work in Immigration anymore. So, can't guide you or anyone for other issues. PN 2: This coment is just for your concern. I won't say that I am 100% right. So, please don't take it as a legal thing. Do your own research. Take care. Don't worry. USA is not everything.
With so much of genunity still you guys have faced such a saddened situation. God will make your lifes much beautiful with new opportunities than you imagine. We are with you!
I feel bad for these students. I do want to point out though that you don’t need to study aeronautical engineering for becoming a pilot. You need to go to flight school (at least in the United States). This may one of the reasons why the officer was skeptical (not justifying it all but trying to state a root cause at least in Balaji’s case). Hope it all works out for the best
I totally agreed with you...Balaji's reply is raised anyone eyebrow. Officer did his job that was they trained for. They had sense of smell that these people are coming as a student with the purpose of job or settling down here. But I feel bad for these people.
Nothing to do with humanity but rules and the laws of countries have to be enforced. The sheer number of Indians seeking visas all over the world is the problem.
This happened to me in the past at the immigration-very traumatic experience. Talking rude and scaring that they will destroy my life and profile. The officer who was dealing with me showed racism. He started asking me a about my university job how much I earn, and targeted to check my bag. They found a pickle in my bag and they charged me a hefty fee and in the meantime when I was in line to pay the fee - he started taunting me that in the future you need this document of evidence when you apply for green card - at that time I was a F1 student.
It really isn't "racism" but nationalism. Americans aren't studying math or computer science that much due to the classes having over 80% foreign students. American college students will study business or other majors instead. This has been going on for over 40 years. Back in the early 1980s if you went into a college class room and it was filled with Chinese or other Asians most Americans would turn around and walk out. American high schools don't push studying math as they do in Asia and therefore when Americans reach college they are about 2-3 years behind. Asian students bring the average up and Americans don't like competing with that. The US education can't change this for the next 30 years. There isn't a Russian satellite going up like with Sputnik in 1957. High school is mostly babysitting with a little studying and sports and other fun things. Also Asians have tiger moms who push their kids to study all the time.
@@PIANOPHUNGUY@PIANOPHUNGUY If any American has an interest in the field and is willing to work hard, no one is stopping them from studying Math or Computer Science. Everybody just wants a better quality of life. How is it Asians fault if an American doesn't want to compete or work hard? Is it Asians fault that the education system isn't pushing math down high school kids? Having tiger parents is not amazing. The stress and trauma lives with you for a long time. If you really want something you should work hard for it and not give excuses such as competition. America is a country built by immigrants. This particular officer was bent on sending these people back, he didn't even give supporting documents. This is racism.
It clearly tells you on the Immigration and customs paper which must be filled by every passenger No Food items. Yes a hefty fee is the result. Racism was what you called out but hey Indians are more Racist than YT folk. Northern people in India vs the Dravidians and dark people in the South. Rey quick to judge others but a little introspection on Indians is very much needed. Am commenting on my lived experience in India
💔My heart is broken hearing these stories. Parth, thanks so much for sharing these experiences, super enlightening! What is really frustrating is how the current US government is letting millions of people illegally cross the border with no accountability and then treats these students who do the hard work to come the right way legally as criminals. I’m so sorry for everyone who had a bad experience like this, especially when coming to pursue your dream in America. I really hope there will be more investigation & accountability into this recent situation. Please reach out if anyone learns more! 🙏☕️
The problem is these students stay illegally after completing their Masters program to seek work. Our citizens here in the US are now not getting work as these guys are taking them away. So, if they are here to study, then don't seek work after, go back. Lying is no longer going to work. Besides, India is the place to be. The US is declining. So perhaps, it was for good reason.
@@suhasini1354 Maybe they won't lie and work illegally if immigration rules weren't so rigged against them. Look, people don't always wake up one day and think about doing something illegal just because they wanted to, its their circumstances that forces them to when they have no better choice. Its easy to sit in your comfort zone and virtue signal how you made it here legally so everyone else should follow the same, when you're overlooking the fact that immigration rules weren't this rigged back in the day. Also, like OP mentioned, there clearly is a double standard here when it comes to targeting illegal activities. The folks who cross the border illegally, who barely have any technical skills, are hardly targeted for working, while Indian students who actually make it here legally are more often targeted even though they are more than deserving to be here for their technical skills. Think about that.

The fundamental mistake these guys did is they did not convince immigration that they had no intention to stay in US. This story is truly sad to read and hear. I have 2 children studying in the US - all I can say is going to good quality schools in the US in very important. Also, having paperwork for proof of funding, as well as paying your fees before leaving India, is also a very good idea - shows added commitment. Consultancies are not all bad - can't generalise them just like we can't generalise students - just depends on which kind of consultancy. All in all, still unfair, whats happened, but trust me, good quality state schools in the US is a good idea. Might be a few 1000 USD more, but makes everything, including immigration and jobs much easier. I wish the very best for you both in your future. Take care.
I don't know how should I say this, but this thought always comes to my mind - is the American dream overhyped nowadays? Because the odds are against you in so many different aspects. Yes I do agree that US education is one of the best in the world, but I also believe the fact that US is not how it used to be. It really hit me when balaji said this - getting a ban from US is like getting a ban from all the country. US is being put on a pedestal and because of this the it adds up to the credibility of an american soft power. Again I am not bashing the US, but it pisses me off when some jerk US immigration guy plays with the students career and walks away as if nothing happened Courage to all the 15 students.
Idiots, who know nothing are causing a lot of problems that are really talented and they can’t realise potential in India. It’s a fact, Indian Govt is absolute garbage
It's hyped in someways and underrated in others. I've been in Boston for 6 years now and wouldn't change a thing but I constantly tell students who approach me to do their research on what exactly do they want from this country because there's enough risk here to send you back to where you came from. I survived 2018's tense immigration talks where companies outright refused to give me interviews for even internships due to visa tensions [ Internships usually extrapolate into full time and H1B comes into play so they ask all visa questions right off the bat ], then I graduated in 2020 right in the middle of the pandemic and now in 2023 I survived 3 layoffs and still going strong. So yeah. Wobbly bicycle. But I love it. To each their own.
Why doesn't India have "An Indian dream"? Why is it only the USA? The dream was never meant for people born in the USA. It was originally a dream paid for by big shipping companies and later airlines. Also back when international phone calls were expensive the phone companies made bank when people phoned home. Today large real estate developers drool when large number of immigrants legal or not come here. Even during a water shortage large tract developments will be built for "the American dream" of home ownership. Many money launderers from East Asia take advantage of this. Ever hear of the book/movie Crazy Rich Asians? They spend money buying homes and even some shopping malls have completely caved in to their spending habits.
@@PIANOPHUNGUY India does not have "An Indian dream" coz even today there are hardly any efforts taken to improve our education and employment systems, as well as to better our overall lifestyle. Also, the law and order is much better with regard to the majority aspects in the West which we lack here. Indians migrate to the West with the intention of improving their lifestyle. The most funny thing is that the political leaders of India who keep chest thumping that India is gonna beat the US have their sons and daughters sent to America.

I think it's pretty clear, follow the rules and checklist provided by the immigration and not the university. No matter the correspondence from the university the immigration officers aren't going to buy it unless your documents align with "their" rules. The correspondence from uni is usually from admissions team and not all of them on the team are aware of legal requirements to clear the immigration and enter the country. It's just like a butterfly effect of consequences of actions from previous students. It was a horrible and traumatic experience you two had to go through. Just a tip of the iceberg. Very sad. Unfortunately, being Indian you are lumped with many other Indians who carry fake documents, lie, over prepared so as to be suspicious, and by hook or crook try to enter countries illegally. So consequently Indians always get a closer scrutiny at points of entry, not only in the US but also in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK, Russia, Europe, etc. In Canada, approximately 700 Indians (students and permanent residents) are awaiting possible deportation due to false documents. Complain, I really don't know if you'll get anywhere. The system is much too strong than the two aggrieved folks unless these two hire a renowned US lawyer with a history of success with the federal government. How about taking up your issue with the NAACP on the basis of racial discrimination? As for the Indian government, Modi and the huge Indian diaspora in the US don't count on them. Very traumatic. I do understand the social pressure, specifically due to the excitement and publicity that builds up leading to the departure day. But, considering that all of your papers were in order and assuming from what I heard that neither proper procedure were followed nor appropriate paper work was created, I would suggest that you fight it out. Some biased immigration officer, if they are, has no right to spoil a career. Pursue through appropriate channels, the MEA, the SLU, as well as the relevant US department.

They will put you back on the plane and tell you to get to u r layer in India! The CBP officer has the absolute authority to deny entry, he/she doesn't OWE you or anyone an explanation🤠🤠😆😆
They did not technically enter the USA to demand lawyers. Ofcourse you can come back to India and appeal the rejection, but I am pretty sure it won't get you anywhere.
In the comment section, I once again see the same issues, people are quick to point out the blame to either the consultancy being "shady" or the University being "blacklisted". Why can't you understand that its not always necessary for these cases to have a solid reason behind the deportation, sometimes it actually is random chance. I feel like people are trying to assure themselves that "It will never happen to me" and so are readily attributing the blame to other factors
This is really very scary, students need to be more cautious and should not take up any off campus jobs, they should know if they are made more aware of the fact that it's illegal. I urge all students to be cautious when it comes to your education and career too. After all you all spend so much money in the application process, to get an I 20, visa fees, etc. Please don't spoil your career in exchange for earning some extra money. Please don't consider this as a negative comment. I'm also a mother of an international student who is studying in the hr US and I understand the struggles that a student has to go through.
Manisha & Balaji , Kudos to both of you for telling your part of the story. Its very hurtful to be treated the way you both were treated. Apologies on behalf of the entire humanity. Please take this in stride and let this experience not determine what you do in your life. You will be successful in whatever you do in life.
Manisha, Balaji, studying in Europe may be an option. Many courses are in English. Hungary offers scholarships to students from several countries, including India - around 100 scholarships a year from each country, i think.
A comment has just been shared by an Indian about Indians being third after Mexicans to cross the border illegally. Shady consultancies have even ruined the H1b visas. But your comment puts the entire onus on the US investigation. Look at what Illegal Indians are doing to taint other honest Indians. Arrogant comments by Indians who think their country is the paragon of virtue!! That's why Indians are running anywhere they can illegally too
Sadly there are a number of dubious universities operating in the US (and Canada) that are supposed to be “online” universities. These often serve as vehicles for illegal immigration to the US. It is unfortunate that genuine students sometimes get penalized, as is the case here. Every country has a right to determine who crosses its borders and sometimes the process can be unpleasant. Sadly, Indians have been known to abuse the system in the past and I have personal experience with this. I came to the US in 1998 as a SAP consultant. I had several years of experience with SAP and also a certification from SAP. But That was a time when anyone who spell SAP could get an H1B and that lead to a lot of abuse. So immigrations agents became extra strict about such jobs. Sadly the actions of a few dishonest people affects everyone. Most telemarketing scams today are calls from India and that gives everyone a bad name.
Ok, what you say is true but they are nicely welcoming illegal people who are drug lords and criminals. The state of California encourages criminal behavior. The percentage of abuses as you speak made by the Indian students is miniscule compared to the mayhem and total society failure being created by the illegal drug mafia. Some Indian students may be abusing their students/work visa but they never created mayhem or rattle a society. That is the irony here.
There are thousands of white collar criminals with fake profile F1 & H1B people in US, particularly from Andra & Gujarat. I am sorry for these two kids, feel sorry for you dear.

Also, applicable for those traveling within US in sightseeing tours or walking in a park or in a neighbourhood.. Invites "bad looks" and attention. Most of America is racist.
Most Indian students have no intention of returning after graduation I went in the seventies and came back I am the only one from a batch of 30 There are 55,000 IIT graduates living in US who made a sworn statement and signed in front of the counsel general The Visa does not give you aright to enter the US The immigration officer has the power to refuse entry Most of the law breakers get entry and start working from day one Many of them do not attend any college and keep changing addresses The parents in India are responsible This video should be shown in every engineering college in India
Why so many Indians are going to foreign Countries to study? Are there Problems in India why these Students cannot study in India? There is so much money leaving India to pay for all these Tuition and other expenses in foreign Countries. India must do something to keep these students at home.
We were a group of 5 international students landed on 23rd of August 2023. 4 of us were successful in clearing the immigration at Chicago Airport but 1 of us was held back by the CBP officer and then was deported. His visa was cancelled by that CBP officer We landed at Chicago Airport just because we got 50% cheaper deal as compared to flight to JFK. We all were to attend Hofstra University, New York.
@@vaibhava4775 Genuine candidate. With all genuine documents. But the CBP officer asked to show the availability of funds in real time logging into internet banking of his parents. Which was not possible for him, first of all, his parents were not availing an internet banking facility from their bank, secondly, even if they were having this facility, how can he login into internet banking of his parents. Internet banking doesn't work like this.
I think the problem was the mock interview questions. Questions they ask during immigration are personal questions so the answers should come from your own mind. Thinking from an immigration officers point of view who’s always trained to see the worst you’re someone who was trained to say supposedly “right answers” from someone instead of coming from your life and experience
Shouldn’t their job be to see if there is anything wrong in their answers ? Its the same logic as to failing a student that he prepared for an exam as he is supposed to write whats there in his head
@@vam333 except this is not an exam, there are no right and wrong answers. The difference is between genuine and being prepared by someone else. @@adityamorey728 exactly, there are no right or wrong answers, only Truth. It is better NOT to be coached on answering questions. There is no need for rehearsal when you are telling the truth. Only when there is some hidden agenda, one needs to be coached to "say the right answers".
I would say the fact the fee wasn’t paid was a big concern to the officers. I study in dublin and the first thing I produced at the immigration was my fee payment confirmation and once the officer saw that there was no further question.
The US immigration policy is really terrible. They are busy deporting qualified and educated people like these, but if you are willing to come illegally, they are happy to give you drivers licenses, housing, etc. Seriously demented policy.
Indians going anywhere in the world by and large contribute immensely to the country's economy. They are hard working and mind their business. They don't create issues like people from other countries and try their best to have a peaceful living. Rejecting such kinds of people but welcoming drug dealers and criminals illegally shows how low the democratic party stoop to get votes. If hard working and peaceful people like Indians are rejected, then I would say it's a loss for that country. Anyhow, USA will be finished as the land of opportunity in a generation or two. The wokeism and vote bank politics will rob the spirit which made USA great.
@@critical_analysis To be honest, cases like these are clear examples of racial discrimination, there's no other sensible explanation. If the most hard working and peaceful group is targeted under the suspicion of potential violation of immigration rules, that speaks volumes about their biases. I can relate to every word of them. I can feel it because I had faced the same situation at Boston Airport in fall 22. CBP had cancelled my visa too with reason found to be inadmissible. What I've seen is CBP were sending back students who didn't paid the fees and came on the first week of start date of college. @@harikrishan2641 I contacted university regarding this after coming back to India and explained the whole situation. As it happened with other students too, they scheduled a meeting with everyone and heard everyone's individual case. For some, they said they will co-ordinate with CBP and try to bring us back. So, the university helped us to get the papers which CBP should give to us, which they didn't give us while sending us back . They suggested several things such as paying the fees and sending all the financial documents. After that, through their advocacy with DHS they helped us to get a call for a visa appointment from the embassy.
One thing I’ve learned after dealing with government officers in the US is that they’re very stubborn. They won’t listen to you if they have made up their mind about a certain thing. No second chances given even if you’re not wrong. On the other hand, the government isn’t paying attention to things that are happening on their homeland illegally. I’m saddened by what happened with you guys. Stay strong.

Canadian immigration, for the past couple of years, has opened the luggage of younger tourists to see if they have copies of resumes, laptops, etc. Also, phones are regularly checked these days both by the US and Canadian immigration.
I’m so sorry this happened to you guys. Try looking for an immigration officer to appeal your case. My one-cent advice would be to ‘go for state or renowned private universities, uninstall all Apps that have those visa mock groups, and visa conversations and always recall the exact answers you gave during your visa interview’. Also, always maintain eye contact and be confident when speaking with any immigration officer.
I know many are saying in comments that you can argue with immigration officers but it is not advisable at all. Once they start suspecting you or any immigrant it looks actually they decide the decision before they even talk to you. This doesn’t happen to everyone. I had my immigration at Atlanta airport on 25th August and touchwood everything went smoothly. I am also here on an F1 visa for my Master’s, but my university is a reputed one. I suspect they must’ve found visa preparation questions or proof that consultancies applied on behalf of these students in their phones. Also the fact that the dean and HOD were in communication with you is odd. The HODs of good colleges don’t have the time or bandwidth to make friends with students, let alone get on zoom calls and all. It feels like they were also Indian or specifically South Indian and were involved in nepotism due to that. Otherwise this “homely” atmosphere is not possible. I feel really bad for them and I wish their experience hadn’t been so rough
It is not unusual for faculty members to be in touch with prospective students irrespective of their ethnic background. I know of faculty members traveling to the airport to receive beginning PhD students.

I'm sorry that this has happened. But not paying the semester fees despite of what the professor said seemes like a cue that was against masters enrollment in the officer's pov. So at least a portion of the 1st sem fees could be paid to avoid this.
I had a similar experience but luckily I wasn't deported. Landed in the country on Aug 3 in california at SFO. After immigration I was made to sit in a room. I had to sit there for 6 hrs before they called me for asking questions. Luckily they were satisfied with my answers and they allowed me to leave. Today I realised how close I came to being deported.

2. Always bring travelers check with you to show one semester's fee and living expenses. This will act as a proof for expenses at the port of entry.
3. If you got a scholarship, good for you. Keep travelers check in the bank - just in case.

What do you want the University to say? They can't say anything about entry to the US.
@mesbahulhoda9539 There is no supporting statement from the University stating that are students with legitimate admission in their programs and should be given the rights that America recognizes ALL human beings have of innocence unless PROVEN guilty. That's nothing unreasonable!!!

And for the rest, if you are ever in a situation with the police, ask for a lawyer!!
I’m sorry this happened to you
Here are a few takeaways for other students like me:
- they were travelling in a huge group
- they didn’t seem to have sufficient funds
- they were all going to the midwest to study
- as an f1 student, we can’t depend on on campus job to pay for our expenses, we need to show funds
- visa interview answers seem scripted
Lessons for the rest of us
- don’t travel in a group
- don’t prepare for visa interview
- have enough funds to pay for the education and stay
All the best to the rest!
Thanks
But I have a doubt, what is wrong with midwest ?
@@prosalmanplays7985 The problem is if 1 person in a group is fraud, then they will assume all are fraud.
@prosalmanplays7985 maybe the universities in that region are all black-listed. Not sure.
Why have these students had Whatsapp interviewing questions and answers with Immigration? They probably are not good at English. Definitely a red flag and then not paying for the semester. America is overrated and over hyped ....many better and safer countries to go
See, I was in Indian Immigration for few years.
(I am just giving one advice from my side.)
(It's too late in the night for me, but as you were worried, I had to write this. It is for all.)
PN: I don't work in Immigration anymore. So, can't guide you or anyone for other issues.
PN 2: This coment is just for your concern. I won't say that I am 100% right. So, please don't take it as a legal thing. Do your own research.
Take care. Don't worry. USA is not everything.

Balaji’s response triggered this. In US, you can become a pilot after 12th grade. You don’t have to study Aeronautical engineering for that.
When you are all over the place, there are suspicions to happen. Though it is unfortunate, suspicion is their job.
@@raghujoshi Also since 9/11, a brown guy saying to an immigration officer that he wants to become a pilot is a "red flag" lol.

This is so mind-boggling , more power to these students!! God knows where's the humanity nowadays
Exactly one hundred percent Indians are racist and rude and that causes trouble for them if they were polite respectful
Who carries a pickle in their bag? What is this?
Can't imagine, how hard that must have been. Hope you get justice.
Think about that.
from your name at least i an guess you are someone of indian origin.

If you are a potential Harvard graduate with ideas that could shape the world then yes you may do better in the USA than elsewhere, but most people who go there attend worthless courses in tier 3 colleges.
The fundamental mistake these guys did is they did not convince immigration that they had no intention to stay in US. They should had said, I am working in india and I am here to get a degree which will help me to get a promotion in the same job in India. I dont have any intention to stay and work here. Rather I want to go back to India after 2 years and work there. Their own heroism led to their downfall.
Again I am not bashing the US, but it pisses me off when some jerk US immigration guy plays with the students career and walks away as if nothing happened
Courage to all the 15 students.
Tbh I'd say it's better to track down these consultancies that misguide students rather than blame immigration officials all alone. It's just like a butterfly effect of consequences of actions from previous students.

Edit : I'm not putting any blame on the students in the video as they seem genuine but were just misguided in the first place regarding the fee. I'm just talking about the general scenario

You are spot on about two different issues. Immigration officers will not allow anyone to enter if the paperwork is not up to date. Student admissions are not enough proof and also the lack of funds. Have a British passsport and travelled extensively but with a visa! 14000 NZ Dollars but no return ticket was detained with my son and his young family. Was eventually allowed in. Rules are Rules and Indians must try and get paperwork authenticated

In the comment section, I once again see the same issues, people are quick to point out the blame to either the consultancy being "shady" or the University being "blacklisted". Why can't you understand that its not always necessary for these cases to have a solid reason behind the deportation, sometimes it actually is random chance. A comment has just been shared by an Indian about Indians being third after Mexicans to cross the border illegally. Shady consultancies have even ruined the H1b visas.

We landed at Chicago Airport just because we got 50% cheaper deal as compared to flight to JFK.
We all were to attend Hofstra University, New York.
Why was the 1 deported? Fake or genuine candidate?
Just reply, please dont @me
@@vaibhava4775
Genuine candidate.
Ethically, you're supposed to frame your own answers based on your own research not based on a question bank and acceptable answers provided by someone else.
@@adityamorey728 exactly, there are no right or wrong answers, only Truth. It is better NOT to be coached on answering questions. There is no need for rehearsal when you are telling the truth. Only when there is some hidden agenda, one needs to be coached to "say the right answers".
I can see the pain in your eyes 😢 stay strong ❤
I would say the fact the fee wasn’t paid was a big concern to the officers. I study in dublin and the first thing I produced at the immigration was my fee payment confirmation and once the officer saw that there was no further question.
Don't know about fees in other countries, but in the US, the fee is based on the credit hours you take per semester. Therefore, the fee is not fixed.
The US immigration policy is really terrible. They are busy deporting qualified and educated people like these, but if you are willing to come illegally, they are happy to give you drivers licenses, housing, etc. Seriously demented policy.
This is what happens when country supports democrats. 😂
Hypocrisy to the nth degree
They simply don't want America to turn into a country ruled by brown people.
@@critical_analysisthis people deport tax paying hindus n keep riots creating muslims paying no tax n eating the system
I can relate to every word of them. I can feel it because I had faced the same situation at Boston Airport in fall 22. CBP had cancelled my visa too with reason found to be inadmissible. What I've seen is CBP were sending back students who didn't paid the fees and came on the first week of start date of college. I was fortunate enough that I came back to US with new visa in spring 23 with the help of my university Northeastern. And I was not the one over there. There were approx 27 students, who were send back with cancelled visa and some were banned too. I feel sorry for manisha and balaji and good luck for your future. This is not the end, have faith and hope. You guys will figure it out and things will start falling at their place.
"came on the first week of start date of college" can you elaborate ???
And second thing, the next time you went, did you pay the fees in advance to your university ?? I am asking this cause, some banks will disburse the amount directly to university so how can we prove that the amount is already paid by my loan provider or they will soon disburse the amount ??
@@prosalmanplays7985 okay. Let's say my start date of University is 6th September and I landed in the US on 6th or after that. Then there might be problems. Answering your second question, I paid the fees then I came. The second time when I came they took me to that room once again but this time they let me go as I had paid the fees.
I guess, They get to know about our fees from our SEVIS number. So, they know if you have paid the fees or know. Still they ask
Can I get your Instagram ID or number I have some questions because the same thing happened to me in Boston last year's August.

Hi bro, how did your university help you in your second attempt?
Please if you can help, as the same thing has happened with my friend this intake. A CBP officer at Chicago airport cancelled his visa and now we are planning to reapply for the spring 2024 session.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Stay strong.
you don't know how they work and their intelligence department. everyone knows how student arrange fake documents
Weird logic the US has! Undocumented migrants "welcome" and documented immigrants "Go home"!
But in this case is complete RACISM towards these guyss...
Yeah
We Indians are second or third after Mexicans to illegal cross the border. Shady consultancies have ruined H1B visas. So our reputation is hitting us.
Stop playing the Rascist card!! Indians are more racists than anyone else. Am of Indian origin have heard more Indians call each other Kali or Kala. Is that Racism?? These 21 had gone to the US from the same place at the same time to the same campus. Some had not paid their fees. Nothing but arrogant comments by Indians on how the world should treat them or that the US in this case must give All Indians the Modi welcome.
Your reply is very accurate. In the Gulf, where I worked, Indians were considered the lowest paid workers (slave like). My salary was halved overnight by my Arab boss because my British boss had, according to the Arab, paid me too much. Thankfully will never go back. Indians by having too many children have created this mess for ourselves!
@@agnescraig2912 These students were coached for the Immigration/Arrival interview. It's suspicious.
Guys, I can understand you might haven't done the wrong things! But this incident spoiled your future plans but trust yourselves this might lead you to some better things!!
Thanks for sharing your experience!!
Sad to hear. Something great is in store for them in India itself. God give them courage to cope with the trauma.
I hope S.Jaishankar Sir get to know about it, he'll definitely help the students.
Laughing out loud that you even think he can or would do anything about this!
He will do nothing

No one does anything for western hangover 😂
Jaishanker has bigger things to worry about like working on defence strategy with USA to deter China. He won't let some 4 students that to F1 not getting a chance spoil that. Be realistic. Nobody cares. Now if 100,000 Indians were repeatedly turned back then it makes sense.
Pls requesting you both to stay strong as .. it’s clear how smart n ambitious you both are.. do not listen to hate comments around you.. sending love ❤️
Canadian immigration, for the past couple of years, has opened the luggage of younger tourists to see if they have copies of resumes, laptops, etc. Also, phones are regularly checked these days both by the US and Canadian immigration.
Good, if u don' like it; stay back home!!!
This inhuman treatment shld be brought to the noticecof the MOEA . MOEA shld take up this issue seriously with their US counterparts .
Where is Jay shanksr?
Very sorry to hear your case. Good luck to both of you. I hope you will try again and come to US legally and do good in your studies. Good Luck !
Why state University
I know many are saying in comments that you can argue with immigration officers but it is not advisable at all. Once they start suspecting you or any immigrant it looks actually they decide the decision before they even talk to you. Don’t worry india offers wonderful opportunities now a days even if u can’t study in USA. I feel it is no loss. I am positive you will have wonderful life.
You guys just had a bad day. But trust me it's not US, it's talent like you and us that make a country better. Let's make India better than US and make it desirable place to be in and remove corruption.

Very very sad with what has happened … can this issue be taken to PMO and foreign ministry level and also run a social media campaign ???
Very very sad , i have no words completely inconsolable

The UN has to take a serious action regarding this issue...US immigration is the worst ever and rude.

Why the UN will take strict actions on this ? It is not their job. This needs to be handled with the embassy.
What happened is really Sad but stay strong guys , if you have the patience and enery please fight the case else move on . May God give you strength .
The authorities who acted so horrible should be punished for everything that they have done that is not compliant with US Immigration Laws. These kids in their mid or late 20s have been scarred for life now. Hope they cope up and move strongly forward in their life. God bless.
There is no country in the world that don't ask questions.
If they can't handle questions then should stay at home
I'm sorry that this has happened. But not paying the semester fees despite of what the professor said seemes like a cue that was against masters enrollment in the officer's pov. So at least a portion of the 1st sem fees could be paid to avoid this.
By doing hard work prove to them that you guys are the best. Best wishes! definitely you will succeed with more flying colors.
Guys, its not the end. Their are plenty of universities around the world and in India also. I completely understand how much blood and sweat it takes to get enrolled into the university in USA. But don't worry it must be for something good !
Communication with the consultancy and uni fees not paid in advance raise alarm bells. Why would genuine students need coaching for immigration interview.
Indian consulates should be helping in all such cases . These students should be provided with suitable contact numbers of relevance indian consulates and consulate officials should be suitably trained to help students in such cases.
Indian embassy or consulates will come to play only if you are in USA and not before you have even set foot in the country.
Support them guys..how their parents paid their fees and etc. But in the last they faced deportation from the us airport officers.
Feels like they were targeted by a racist immigration officer. Who was fixated that he wanted to already send them back and needed smallest reason.
Is what I am thinking
