    Nice video especially for those travelling with toddles. Glad that you get to tha Far East Children Garden and Jacob Garden that's so good for Gaia.
    Garden by the Bay at night at the SuperTreeGrove can be magical for its lightings and shows.
    Sentosa is too touristy and can be expensive. They do have a cheaper package deal but more geared for older kids and adults.

    Hi,
    I think you chose the expensive way to enter Sentosa. You can walk to Sentosa for free. Theres a bridge link from VivoCity to Sentosa and take the Monorail for free to explore Sentosa. Most of the parks activities in Sentosa are run by private company. Buy food and drinks at the nearby hawker centres which is cheaper before entering Sentosa. Everything is expensive in the resort island Sentosa with 15 luxury hotels.

    As a Singaporean, I always feel the (illogical) need to apologise to visitors for the heat. :-)
    My "tip" for visitors (tourists) is 1) try to stay indoors during the hottest part of the day from say 10 am to 5 pm. Unfortunately, if you are travelling with very young kids (as you were), their "active phase" of the day may preclude this strategy. You are out when the kid is up. (When I travelled with my daughter when she was 2+, we would be out and about early, but she would be tuckered out by 4. Many of our dinners when we were in Japan were take-aways. And my wife and I so love dining out in Japan!)
    2) During the hottest part of the day find a mall, or some air-conditioned destination. So at 11 am, maybe go find lunch in an air-conditioned food court (or a restaurant). As for air-conditioned attractions/destination (other than malls) the two conservatories at Gardens by the Bay are air-conditioned (but ticketed). If you visiting the Zoo Parks (there are three), the River Wonders is partially air conditioned (i.e. there are parts of that park that are enclosed and airconditioned, and parts that are "outdoors". That should be your afternoon destination. Museums are also climate controlled, but of no interest to a toddler. Another destination is our Airport. Yes, many Singaporeans will go to Jewel at Changi Airport to entertain themselves. It's a mall with activities. But more importantly, it's air-conditioned.
    3) Finally, go out at night. Again this is probably not applicable for your family because toddler. In your videos in the morning, you really enjoyed the peace, tranquility, and solitude of being the only persons (or almost) in the area. But as you noticed, a lot of attractions on Sentosa only open from 2 pm (that tells you something about Singaporeans, no?). If you're at the Supertrees Grove at 7:45pm and 8:45pm, you'll see the light show. The inner bay of Marina Bay Sands, there is a water and light show (Spectra). My point is, Singapore has fun at night. We even have the F1 race at night!
    Anyway, all this is moot as you have gone on the rest of your trip. The important thing is, as you have named this Channel, that it is good for Gaia.
    It is also how I felt when I travelled with my daughter - her experiences, her fascination, her sense of wonder, her exploration of worlds beyond our shores.
    That is what is important. And that is the joy and bliss I get from your videos.
    Thank you.

    • @goodforgaia
      @goodforgaia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you for watching! And thank you so much for your helpful comment - I'm sure others will benefit a lot from reading it! The heat was a big change for us as it is winter in New Zealand right now, but we enjoyed Singapore regardless. You're absolutely right that it can be hard to plan your day with a toddler - she is often up at 6am and ready to start the day, so we are usually out early and don't mind. We usually go back to our hotel/guest house for her nap around midday, so that keeps us out of the really intense heat - and the malls are such a great option as well! We also loved cooling down at the splash pad in Gardens by the Bay :) Travelling with a child is so special (as you mention), seeing everything through their eyes is such a gift. Thank you again for watching - we hope you and your family are well :)

    For Sentosa, there's why locals have a joke as “So Expensive, Nothing TO See Also."😂
    There's a free beach shuttle that allows you to travel around the beaches of Sentosa. Can try alighting at Palawan beach next time, with the hammocks for chilling, an over-the-lagoon bridge.
    Siloso beach has a free multi-sensory experience “Magical Shores" on Friday to Sunday nights. If you come during school holidays (June, late Nov/Dec), it even offers free alfresco movie screening on Friday nights. So have to go website to check out the possible free experiences Sentosa can offer before going.

      Having a good metro system makes getting around so easy. It’s fast, frequent, and affordable! We also thought the MRT in Singapore was much better than the London Underground in terms of air con, size, cleanliness etc ☺️ Buses in NZ aren’t in the same category 😅

    • @danielc2701
      @danielc2701 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Small steps at a time, small steps. I remember in the 90s the buses were not air conditioned and whenever it rained, the water would leak in through the windows and flood the vehicle. Even today I retain the habit of sitting at the wheelwells as it kept your shoes out of the water. "Keep at it" gives much better results than setting up a "perfect" system then letting it get run down.

      Hello, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on our video - sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with it! We actually LOVED our time in Singapore - the title of this video is "SINGAPORE IS AMAZING" - and we feel we really positively showed how many great things you can do there on a budget, and just how child friendly the city is. We personally don't feel we complained about the heat or cold malls (?), but they were experiences we had and commented on (stating a fact does not instantly make it a complaint). I hope you can find some other videos that showcase Singapore in the way you wanting them to. Thanks again for watching.

      Many tourists complained how hot the weather is in Singapore as in other asian countries are.
      Some tourists really came with a surprising SHOCK experiencing how really hot it is out there ❗️❗️❗️
      YES....we are 80 miles from the equator....❗️❗️
      YES...IT IS A FACT....but we cannot help to change this hot and humid weather as much ss those living in cold and damp weather is in Europe, America and other places.
      IT IS A FACT but there is nothing anyone can do about it.
      The only solution ....is to enjoy as much as you can take it in the sun....and then go into a mall to cool off as long as you can.
      Due to climate changes in fact in the whole world....we as travellers NEED TO PROTECT OURSELVES FROM SUN BURN....HOT HEAT STROKE AS AN EXTREME . ...
      When living in a hot and humid climate like Singapore.....many people had grown TO ADJUST AND ADAPT TO THE CLIMATE. Likewise....you had adjusted to your country climate as well.
      If Singapore can control the weather so everyone can enjoy cool air all the time....SHE WILL ❗️❗️
      But you and I know....it is impossible.
      So we cannot apologise for our hot and humid weather.....but we can try to make SINGAPORE AS LIVABLE, EXCITING PLACE TO STAY AND TO LIVE
      Wish you and family well.....GOD BLESS 🙏🙏
