    My rosacea started in my early 30’s & not only do I get the little bumps, I flush really badly especially when I’m hot, eat tomatoes or drink wine. So the only thing I’ve found that works for me is Orescea which is really expensive because it isn’t covered by insurance. Coincidentally I started taking psyllium husk a couple weeks ago because of constipation issues & I have noticed that the little bumps on my nose that almost never go away even with medication have started going away. So that’s really interesting! I’m so glad I stumbled onto this video. I’m thinking of having a facial & was wondering if there were any that would actually help & not just irritate my sensitive skin.

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, psyllium husk powder is helpful for rosacea. You much have a lot of internal inflammation. Do stay away from the heat forming foods tomatoes, bell peppers, spicy, red wine:))

    Thank you for this video! I have been struggling with trying to figure out how to treat my redness. I have always struggled with not having smooth skin and after having my second baby I really notice the redness more and more. I know a big part of it is my diet (addicted to caffeine and sugar, so bad for the skin I know) but it's so funny how Jordan hit it on the head as well: I'm drawn to warm showers even though I ask for no-low steam during facials. Will slowly work on healing and cleansing my gut.

      @NeridaJoySkincare  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jasmine,
      Its not always the sugar and caffeine for everyone. But tomatoes, spicy and alcohol ..... stimulants can be the bigger problem.

    • @jasminesalvador8242

      Nerida Joy Thank you for your response! I've been testing out the tomato idea and last night in particular I ate a handful of grape tomatoes. A few hours later my cheeks were incredibly pink and some of my bumps that had flattened started to pop up again. I will definitely avoid excess of these in the future!

    can u help with getting rid of pigmented scars left from acne also love the show

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but you have to use treatment products that contain nutrients that feed the skin and or retinol and aha's. Are the scars you have brown or a deep purple? and, how long have you had them? Protect them from sun exposure also :))

    • @nadiaidris2017
      @nadiaidris2017 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nerida Joy Thank you for your response ,mine are a light brown and I have had them for about a year or less I also have a dark skin tone and people have told me that this means they will stay for longer is this true ?

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, darker tone has more pigment which means you have less choices on how to lighten or get rid of them unfortunately. You can certainly lightening them up considerably if not have them gone within a few weeks. Are you good about wearing sunscreen? Stay away from peels and products that contain resorcinol. Use products every PM that contain vitamin a and aha's and you will be able to lighten them up.

    Is there anything that can be done for very dark under eye discoloration that is genetic?

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yes, look for an eye products that have pearl powder, arnica, ivy and mallow extract in them. Any of these will help the discoloration tremendously. Use it in a complete circle around the eyes twice daily :))

    Hi, I have odd skin that I can't figure out. I have surface dry skin with some eczema, but I also have occasional acne and blackheads. Most acne treatments are too harsh and dry me out even more. What should I be doing for this?

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Using a mild non-foaming gel or milk cleanser, a hyaluronic serum possibly and a moisturizer containing shea butter. Stay away from retinol and AHA's while you have eczema. At night you should use a little prescription hydro-cortisone on the eczema as that is really the only way to get rid of it completely unfortunately.

    Hi Nerida. If I am 38 years old and have rosacea, is mild retinol cream (first aid beauty 0.25%) a solution that will avoid broken capillaries?Love from Canada

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Josee,
      You can try it. If you are concerned or feel it may be a little to strong, layer a serum on first before the retinol. I love serums that have hyaluronic acid or arnica :))

    Hi Nerida, i was wondering if you could give me some advice. I've had acne (hormonal and not) since 6th grade and was put on a prescription face wash and retinoid cream last fall, but still get big painful zits and whiteheads. What should I do?

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Painful is hormonal, which means you may be a little higher in testosterone. Do you have dark hair on your body? Whiteheads .....stay away from peanuts, dairy/soy and egg yokes. Keep me posted Lucy

    Whats is the name powder for rosacea?

  • @chrissieasmith
    @chrissieasmith 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Nerida, I have texture on my cheeks (ever since childhood) along with fine sensitive skin. I was always told my texture was due to dehydrated skin, but thick creams only made it worse and created milia. I have since understood I need exfoliation (BHA works wonders) and have a few sessions of IPL every year which has improved my sensitivity hugely. I also now wear a ski mask whenever I go skiing (wind burn is the worst and takes forever to heal) and stay well out of the sun. Sadly, I still get 2 or 3 tiny little red pimples (also itchy) and am trying to keep these in check and figure out why I get them (could it be stress? or food?). I do have a sensitive stomach (gastritis) so I am eager to try the psyllium husks. thanks!

      sounds like you need to use everything that is very gentle.... what is your cleanser?

    • @chrissieasmith
      @chrissieasmith 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nerida Joy thanks so much for the reply! I’ve been using alpha h cleanser with aloe vers and now the Jordan Samuel treatment cleanser. Maybe I’m overdoing the bha ? The tiny itchy red spots have liquid in them (pustules?) and tend to appear on my t zone between eyebrows, along the sides of my nose and above my lip ...

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jordans products are great:)) are you using a wash cloth when cleansing? Do you use an exfoliant ...buffing exfoliant, not granular?

    • @chrissieasmith
      @chrissieasmith 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nerida Joy thanks again for your time! I have actually just switched from muslin cloths to Jordan’s washcloths very recently. I don’t use any other exfoliant than the Paula’s choice bha lotion.
