This is the best car channel on TH-cam, and I say this mostly because every other car channel on TH-cam is the same. They're loud, too obnoxious and cocky, they love to clickbait, and they're too desperate to grab the viewers attention. bought these bulbs for my mk7 because i watched this video. definitely one of the best purchases i made for this car. changes the look of the car entirely. definitely worth it. You deserve many more subscribers and viewers for your helpful reviews and installations

You should also replace the turn signals! I’ve done that for my GLI and for the easy mod that it is, the results are worth it

I got the blacked out taillights from them, one of the best mods
@@Wayzor_ worth it. Helix gets water absorption inside, and the headlight covers peel.
@@JacesOwnWorld mine from ecs are a year old both are peeling now and I snapped one of the adjuster for aiming
I always wanted a GTI and this series made that proposition a lot less scary.
You can access the bulb also through the fog light access hole in wheel well.
I saw a video for amber drls/high beams. These are halogens but brighter, and the drls look really cool and amber stands out more for safety.
Go thru the drivers side wheel well for better access to headlight bulbs

Hi 👋 I’ve been driving a mk7 gti for 3 years now. And I love it. But i had headlight go out. I would like to do what you did in this video but the link in description for the lights isn’t working.
I've been holding on to a set of EDS 7.5 lights since last June if you're interested. Still in box, never used.

Is this safe to do knowing our halogen cars have housings made for halogens? I read this is a big douche move that can blind other drivers? Please correct me if I’m wrong just going off forums I debated doing this the day I drive my gti home, I hate the lights
i think it just depends
You have to be really careful about the bulb you buy and how it is installed and adjusted. I did a huge amount of research when I got my LED headlights and ultimately decided that buying headlights designed for LEDs was a better option.
@@benhudson8905 that’s what I assumed I just cannot justify spending that much money on all new headlights for my gti, I’m assuming the bulbs in his video are safe otherwise he wouldn’t have used them?
@@tylermajeski2902 If you look at the light pattern against the garage you can see light projected up above the cutoff line. There are several lines of light and some dim patterns. These are glare. You can also see the glare when the camera is looking at the headlights. The whole reflector is lit up and you can see the glare around the edges of the headlight lens. This is why LEDs are bad in halogen housings. My LED projectors don't have light above the cutoff so they don't glare. While the ones he installed are better than a lot of the ones I have seen, the visible glare patterns on the garage would keep me from installing these LED bulbs in my personal car. He did adjust them, which many people don't, but he can't solve the glare issue because of the design of the reflector behind the bulb.
@@benhudson8905 so did you NOT get LEDs? Or did you just get all new headlight housings? I have halogen headlights in my GTI and would love LED headlights, but my initial research scared em away from going any further.
FYI I’ve got a 2020 GTI with the DRL LED bar thing with those hideous contrasting halogen headlights next to them.

Igot the Philips & Osram White Vision halogens (similar to led) for soo much cheaper than leds. And also without the problems of converters... Looks bout the same to! 👍
I just installed the Osrams in new headlamp units (the originals have weird micro-cracks in the lens). They are nowhere near as bright as the LEDs. I am getting the LEDs

I bought the led bulbs that you linked and when I put the low beams in they work all the time but when I put the running time leds in they work on high beam and then I go to low beam the running lights start to flicker
I installed the same LED'S but had issues with the driver side DRL, it kept flickering. luckily i was able to fix the issue via VCDS.
so if you have the same problem, you need to change the Lasttyp settings on the DRLs. see below.

Have a question, would like to confirm that these bulbs work on mk7.5. When I look it up it says that it will not fit my 2019 GTI.
Could you possibly talk about the negatives to not having the performance pack? I heard without it you dont have the bigger breaks, LSD, etc...
I bought led for my golf but I don't know where the led cable is supposed to connect to in my car. I just don't see anywhere near the headlight housing. Are you able to help

I think the headlights are designed to pop out to be worked on, on my VW (Polo) its just two top screws then pull forward and out they come. Much easier than fiddling in the engine bay.
They really are but you have to take the entire front bumper off the MK7 GTI just to get to the headlight screws.
Just got mine I can believe this lights make a such huge difference
Question, is your DRL and FULL BEAM the same bulb as I have a VW GOLF TDI MK7 an want to change the halogen to LED.

I don't recommend the Focus RS. Too many reasons to fit into a youtube comment but if anyone cares, I'll try. Bought one out at San Tan Ford actually so yeah, I am a local, and it did fine in the heat with a stock intercooler, stock everything. I had it for a year and traded it for a Mustang GT after seeing your GT build. Having said that, if views are the goal, you'll probably get views on it.
Would this bulbs work for a 7.5 GTI S ( halogen headlights )
Depends on the year. I think these specific ones from LASFIT fit up to 2017 GTI S (halogen headlights).
If you go on their amazon store you’ll find that the Pro-MB1 fits GTI 2018-2020.
These non DOT approved led bulbs have a major problem with too much light thrown directly in front of the car, instead of down the road. When concrete pavement is wet, a tremendous glare is created by this close-up light patterns. In rear view mirrors at night the highway becomes a white sheet of LED bulb glare. It stinks.
Nice - DRLs look much better but what happens to Brights/High-Beam?

Cool stuff but what about flicker and high beams with these leds? Idk about the gti but on my sportwagen those are the drl's and high beams, with the drl being dimmed.

DRL’s may look better as led but that h15 is also your hi beam . How well/or not well does the hi beam function ?

Can I use this LED's on my ED's headlights? I believe previous owner just put the old yellowish low beam bulbs to the ED's headlights. I would like to upgrade to LED but I don't know if the ED's housing has enough space for this LEDs.

did you have to clear any headlight warning codes? I changed my tag light bulbs to LED and it threw an error code.
I installed the same lights both drl’s and headlights but when I turn them on drl’s flash like turn signals. Does anyone know what the problem could be??

Don’t fit led into halogens in the uk you’ll fail the mot even if they don’t glare, you can get decent H15’s HG’s Iv got some and they’re not as bright but definitely nice colour not too blue to be pulled over also remember in the uk if you go over a certain lumen think it’s 6k entering the blue spectrum you’ll be pulled by the police
