  • A small project that brought some color to one of the walls of my room where I keep the “room corner woodshop”. Made six floating shelves, three used for my needs, other three for my wife’s mini vintage collection that she likes to buy from antique markets.

      Not to be a jerk or anything but your woodworking room doesn't look like a woodworking room you'd get any serious work done. It looks more like a display room with expensive tools and fancy shelves. I'd be terrified to try doing anything in there. I'd always be worried about scarring or blemishing something. No offense but I'd never try constructing or staining anything on your more recent workbench. It looks more like a piece of fine furniture and not a workbench to get work done on it. In any case, nice job on the shelves. I'd definitely do that for a room in my house but not for something such as a woodworking room.

      Is small workbench you used at 0:45 made by you? Do you have a more detailed video about it?

    Adorable for items that are not too heavy. Love them. I also like the wood is thin and different from other pieces of wood. I love You Tube because it teaches me things my family never taught me because they were too busy working.

    Where do you get your wood from? I always have trouble finding wood.

    • @AdrianPreda
      @AdrianPreda  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kind of difficult for me too. Some I get from big box stores, but there are limited and boring types (pine, laminated beech etc, rare times I found mahogany), some from model maker shops (thin 1/8 to 1/4 veneers, walnut, mahogany, pine). There are some lumber yards around me, but I don't have the power tools and space to resawn them.

    • @SethsProject
      @SethsProject 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had some luck finding wood on eBay. You can find some decent deals. You can re saw with your Japanese rip cut saw. That's what I do, but it does get tiring lol.

    • @AdrianPreda
      @AdrianPreda  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Seth's Project I enjoy a lot rip cuting with the ryoba, but small boards only. Preparing a frame for a little cabinet for ex from a big wood plank will take the fun out of it. That cool looking whale shape saws maebiki i think they re called will be fun to use😀

    • @hotrodhog2170
      @hotrodhog2170 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Seth's Project, Ebay is over priced. I'm not sure where you are but I find a lot of my wood on Craigslist. I am in the southeast Ky region and have great luck finding stuff that guys with band saw mills get rid of cheap. I just took a nice 1 1/2 hour ride and picked up some live edge walnut slabs 2" thick, about 34" long and about 22''-24'' wide for $15.00 each. Awesome deal.

    • @SethsProject
      @SethsProject 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hotrod Hog Thanks! I have since found a lot of walnut and maple. I have enough to make my hand tool cabinet and my workbench. eBay is very expensive, and luckily I didn't buy anything from there. It is relatively hard to find people selling lumber here in East Tennessee.
