I think the main issue is getting licensing agreement again for all the companies and car manufacturers in the game. The silly thing was Sony actually uploaded a live action trailer of the game last year to celebrate 15 years but nothing about doing a remaster
The Getaway was an amazing game, but it went on the shelves at the wrong time. It went on shelves the same day as GTA Vice City, and you know what people would go for. If it went on shelves later then this franchise would’ve been a well known masterpiece
The controls were a bit tricky and the game design showed that it wasn't intended for every player, but it had been created since like 1999/2000, so the concept was even more complex than GTA 3's or VC's. Gta3 was a masterpiece but vice city felt rushed, too plain. Of course everybody loved it, it seems.

Then they did some live-action trailers and promotional movies later on. Mark Hammond is played by Don Kembry. Frank Carter is Joe Rice. Jasmin is Anna Edwards. Charlie Jolson is Ricky Hards (with a cosmetic mask to make him look older). Every character in the game is based on a real actor.
Oh my god, i was watching an old video of The Premiership on ITV i dug out from my closet last night and during the adverts the showed this. I remember thinking "Well i'll be fucked" the game that i loved in my childhood. Sitting around in the summer holidays with the door open, me and my m8s playing this all day right through into the early hours. Memories
I just started playing this game again today it has aged so well, the first level had my heart racing and, the adrenaline rush I get from doing the insanely hard missions is an amazing feeling👍
In Canada the commercial is just some guy walking out to the street jacking a 89' Toyota MR2 then bashes into a Citroen Saxo. After that it just shows gameplay.

To be honest, both the Getaway and GTA are not different enough to not be compared to each other. I'm sorry, I loved the Getaway as well, but I have to disagree with you.
For some reason, I felt bad killing civilians and the police in this game, I only killed the police if I had to. I only really killed the gang members and people I was meant to, on the mission where you had to escape the police station I killed one copper. :o

Vice city came out in October 2002. Getaway came out in January 2003
