i can testify myself benchmades warrantee and service is hands down the" best !!! i needed a pivit screw that got messed up on our faults me and the knife dealer i made them aware of that and by gosh a quick reply came and a pivot screw is on the way . how can you beat that ya cant im and that incident made me very proud to own one and feel like part of the benchmade team i have since bought a second a prisidio ultra and my 3rd will be a griptillian great videos by the way i enjoy them and really like your honesty a quality thats scarce nowadays.
Two hundred dollars for a tool I use countess times a day, is a bit of money, but I'm proud to pay it if they have a liberal warranty department. I've had knives from manufacturers at both ends of the spectrum "we're unbelievably sorry your 3" knife broke batoning, someone from production will be beaten" to "handle fell off opening a letter? No our problem. Oh yeah we need return shipping"
Springs on my BM940 failed after some light use so I sent it back under warranty. The service was excellent and astonishingly fast. I was kept informed (almost daily) about the progress of the repair by Julie Morris and I had it back with me with (what felt like) stronger springs (?) within two weeks. This is all the more impressive because I live in the United Kingdom! I continue to enjoy my 940 and would not hesitate to recommend Benchmade products/after-care to anyone.
I've sent a number of Benchmade's back to them usually to restore the factory edge. I've never ever had a problem and have never paid a single cent except for shipping. Currently my Benchmade 810 is there and I decided to pay the $40 for them to give me a brand new black blade on it (I screwed mine up from years of bad sharpening before I found my current awesome system). Eagerly awaiting it back.
I just shipped them out my Benchmade 350 that I thought was looong gone, nope i found it and def needs an overhaul and i paid for a new blade on that as well (hope they still have one)
just got my 940 back from them had the same broken spring. came back with better blade centering and New pocket clip and axis is somewhat stiffer but very happy with it
Just got my first benchmade . I got the mini bugout orange model and freaking very impressed all my knife are sogs amd have some high end models spec elite 2 auto . I love sog but can tell this benchmade mini bug is a whole nother level of craftsmanship. It now is my main edc
So I have an old benchmade knife that is pretty roughed up. The blade is dull, the paint is all scratched up, and the screws heads for the pocket clip are all eaten up. Would I have to pay extra if I wanted them to repaint it, and change the screws? I know they'll sharpen it for me, but I don't know if the warranty will cover the other superficial things. I want to flip the clip to the other end where it has the screw holes, but I can't take the screws out. Would that be considered a broken part?
Glad to see they take care of you and fix up your knife! I just got the mini griptilian and was feeling a bit worried about the springs breaking or just not getting good service for the price I paid.
That’s why I like and purchase Benchmade! I don’t know why others talk about butterfly taxes and other BS like that about BM knives. Great American made knives and great Americans working there.
Both springs on my 940 and 556 broke last summer, I just contacted them to send me spare springs and pocket clips, I live in a shitty country in Europe so can't trust the post and the customs if I was about to send the knives to the US, so after about 2 months, the package arrived, with 4-5 pairs of springs and two pocket clips with screws matching both the 940 and the 556. They didn't ask any questions at all...
If they stand behind their customers like that, then I will purchase one. I've been eyeing up the precinct for quite some time. I think this video confirms that I should give benchmade a try. Thanks for the video.
I have the Barrage with the M390 blade. I have to say it has kicked the paramilitary 2 out of my pocket because I know should something happen to it they will do a fast turn around. I have heard that spyderco can take weeks. I still love spyderco but after getting the Barrage I have been looking alot at more benchmade knives. if you get a chance to give the Barrage with M390 a good look. it's really close to what you have but a little more old school looking with the aluminum and G-10 scales. still an assistant opening knife and the M390 blade steel is just awesome for edc.
Good to know how well Benchmade backs their products. I have two knives from them: Contego and Griptillian. Both have functioned flawlessly so far. M390 steel has great edge retention but takes time to sharpen. I love it.
Benchmade is a bit frustrating to me since I take [most] knives apart to clean & resharpen them. They actually state that if a knife has been disassembled it voids the warranty but don't enforce the policy. What seems absurd to me is that they'll ship out for free any externally attachable original hardware just on my verbal stating that I need them but they won't sell me the bronze washers, omega springs, or stainless liners for their axis-lock knives. They're great in sending out handle, body, & clip screws as well as pocket clips themselves.
+Flayme Im not sure what the policy is on restricted knives. I think you have to send them proof of legal ownership so that they would be allowed to send it back to you.
I wonder how to ask for changes on the scop dagger it has a inch of blade and the rest is dull powder coded steel but I went to Hans military surplus and saw the same dagger but fully sharpened and I don’t wanna spend 100-200 more dollars on another knife
“It feels so good to have it back” I didn’t like not always have a Benchmade on me so I had to get 3😂 one is still unopened just as a backup or a special gift or just to keep it. Awesome knives
There is a guy on Etsy that sell Omega spring. I open my knife 100+ times a day for fun and the after market springs only lasted me a month. So through normal use they should last you - few years.
Hahaha! Hilarious ending. Thanks for posting this...... Just sent an Auto Stryker off..... I'd still buy a new one if they wouldn't fix it..... Love my Benchmade stuff.....they have converted my from Spyderco.....mostly. Still love my matriarch and endura 4.
My experience with Benchmade is also very good. Sent an ebay knife with centering issue but they fixed it for free which was awesome. But if you were to do an honest review on their warranty service, you shouldn't have sent the knife in the box with your TH-cam channel logo on it. Not all their customers have TH-cam channel or audience.
+R6llin' Glad you had a great experience! I doubt they even realized that the stamp was significant, and if they did most likely they didn't follow up on it. It wasn't put on there for benchmade, more for just aesthetics.
Spyderco is no doubt a great company but im just as impressed with my benchmade knives even though i have more spydies just as big of benchmade fan i too was like you heard bad things about benchmade but may i suggest you try them out and form your own opinion i did and do not regret a single purchase of my benchmade knives in fact they may have tilted the scales towards their side as of lately but dont get me wrong I love my spydies

Benchmade makes quality knives and has a great warranty policy. The premium price tag is definitely worth it.
Until you lose the knife, then their warranty is entirely useless.
@@joeloweryourexpectationsbiden that’s on you bud

So is the warranty international? could I, for example as a German make use of the warranty?

They will replace thing that are worn out for free.

@ReviewOutdoorGear did you have to pay for return shipping or just shipping for out there ?
Only shipping out there.
Just grabbed a 940 Osborne. Good to know about warranty thanks
Awesome customer service. How'd your omega springs break?
+SleekLeek 1245 I have a tendency to fiddle with the knife when I'm bored and the repetitive overuse of the spring broke it.
One of the reasons I own many benchmade knives is because people say the warranty is so good and customer service is awesome

My bench made was kinda melted in a fire. Can I still send it in if I don’t have any paperwork on it?
Yes.
What if I put aftermarket clips and screws in. Will they refuse to service my knife?
If they stand behind their customers like that, then I will purchase one. I've been eyeing up the precinct for quite some time. I think this video confirms that I should give benchmade a try. Thanks for the video.

I wonder why their site warranty is so misleading. Are they trying to get people not to send then things to fix? Thanks for the great video!
Very neat production on this video. Good job!
Good to know. Thank you.
Can you send it UPS or does it have to be USPS?
Doesn’t matter.
@@ReviewOutdoorGear I didn't figure but someone told me it had to be USPS and I was confused lol

+Flayme Im not sure what the policy is on restricted knives. I think you have to send them proof of legal ownership so that they would be allowed to send it back to you.
Balisongs are legal in my state, though. (Texas)
Call the customer service number for a fast answer. Their email team can be quite slow.

I live in Canada, would I be able to request for an omega spring to be shipped to me instead of sending the whole knife?
You could try asking them, but they are very specific about not sending out parts.

This matches my experience also. Hard to fault Benchmade's customer service.
Benchmades warranty is legendary
Thanks for the video!
Only banchmade love love ❤️
the axis lock on my Bugout broke after about 4 months
Send it back and they will replace it.
I buy only benchmate knives because the warranty the best
No cost at all???
No cost.
Nice.
Thanks
good vid

That is false you can find the Omega spring all over the. Even on Etsy
Thats some of what your paying for is that support
They won't fix autos tho unless your military or police and can prove it. !
That’s true. You also have to be able to prove you’re police or military to purchase one from them in the first place.
@ReviewOutdoorGear I purchased mine from a online dealer, but yea there strict.
I'm glad Spyderco has amazing service and quality. I won't risk buying from Benchmade. They sound terrible.
