@@gl5335it’s pretty easy , only hard thing about it is taking the motor out lol , other than that just remember where all the wires go and stuff , if you can’t it says on the motor what wires are which
@@astoldbydbyes I did back then the only difference is the motor is inside the dashboard so it sounds slightly different. These durangos have 2 different ones I believe (it's been about a year since replaced) one is under the dashboard and the other is inside the side panel in the back of the vehicle. So I believe your problem is the rear blower motor. Since the front is still blowing COLD air you have freon still so everything is fine but the fan isnt blowing the air through the cabin air vents so the cabin fan motor (in the rear panel) must have died not the front one under the dashboard. TH-cam can show you where exactly it is as well
@@mrs.kendramalone118 (sorry I'm 1 year late) well the hot air is a separate issue either you have no freon or your condenser under the hood has failed. It's a mini machine that is inside of one of the rubber hoses under the hood. The same vehicle I repaired a year ago now blows hot air only. When I replaced the motor it circulated the air perfect on all modes. Now that same durango in 2024 only blows hot air in the front and back, now since it's blowing hot air the fan motors in the rear and front are still fine cause it's blowing but hot instead of cold. Our mechanic said the condenser needed to be replaced, and he said he might need to take off the front end to replace it. Check your condenser under the hood and your freon levels cause your motors are functioning fine.
Does the blower motor stay on consistently? I’m getting like a whistle, almost sound like someone is playing a one note recorder from my passenger side.
Probably the bearings going out or just incredibly dry(will make the bearings wear out faster). I've personally taken a screeching blower motor out and lubed up the bearings to get a few more years out of them
Not 100% but what I"ve been reading(and dealing with) when the air stops blowing out on low and you end up increasing it to high over time, that's the resistor. Mine was doing that for a long while, and now finally crapped out. Now just trying to see if it's the resistor, motor, or climate panel.
Will this do this when you turn the heat on to mine does it both ways, air, conditioner or heat makes noise every time I turn it on when I turn it off it stops
The blower motor pushes both air from the A/C and heater core into the cabin depending on what setting you have selected. So it will make noise for both.
Just take it to a mechanic before you end up ruining something…. Had a car come into my shop today he tried to do his own spark plugs trying to save himself 100$ or so well now his motor has to be pulled and sent to our big shop because he used a normal socket instead of a spark plug socket. Now he’s a couple thousand dollars down because he didn’t want to take it to the specialists. But hey you do you bro I wish you luck. Just watch a TH-cam video on it those clips on the glovebox is easy. I promise that’s the least of your worries
@@flickdverified418 My gosh, how did that even work a normal socket? What'd he use an extension and just a regular 5/8 socket? I'm no mechanic, but can do basics, including spark plugs. I even knew to get a spark plug socket from the parts store lol. Some people just...make me smh.
@@Christy.1 they it took a special spark plug socket the normal 5/8 and it got stuck down in there believe it or not we used slices of bread to get it out.

The blower motor in my Acura RDX sounds like this, but only on cold mornings. Prob going to change it out before this winter.
Mine started that way too. Now it scrapes and knocks and is really annoying.
Strange I think that is the noise I heard under the dash in the durango a year ago, now the front has no air at all and the rear blows fine 😂

Mine is doing just like this. It’s the motor housing rubbing on screws. Look between the plastic fan(drum fan) and the base.

My 2021 Kia Forte with 27,000kms just started making this noise.

Why does this sound come from behind the gas pedal?
Does it also make a squeaking sound? My ac stops blowing when it squeaks so the only thing I’m thinking of is the blower motor

Had a civic that did this a couple years ago...sprayed oil on the shaft (from under the squirrel cage with a straw), lasted well over a year. 👍🏻👍🏻
