Spent 15 minutes alone in the Gershwin Room at the Library of Congress last week. His 1929 Steinway, some of his manuscripts & paintings, Ira’s artifacts…it was very moving and a privilege. Love your work.
Out of all of the versions of this piece, I have to say that I like yours the best. I remember meeting you when you came to Perkins School for the Blind one time... That show was freaking amazing. You went from playing Chopin to this... I still have your album of this... somewhere.
Very nice Richard. I am doing pieces of RIB as “the glue” of a Gershwin medley I am singing/playing in an upcoming concert and truly appreciate the work that you have put into this lovely performance.
