Saints and mary intercede for us. Theres a lot about that in bible and revelations with the mass in heaven but people dont understand it cux they dont know their catholic or arent catholic. Praying is conversation. No one is asking saints or mary to save them. Ther4 is only one savor of the world
Jesus christ. We ask each oteht to pray for us. Its the exact same thing. The saints amd mary are all very much alivr in heaven. God is the god of the living not the dead. Thats why its called eternal life not eternal death. We are alive with god in heaven and all the angels and saints and apostles and mary mother of god

Good points! I have heard much error taught from pulpits about Peters actions during the arrest and trial of Christ that were 1/2 truths or completely in error. We do know after Jesus’ arrest Peter followed from a distance and was allowed into courtyard thanks to John and that Peter warmed himself by the fire. It must have been an extremely intimidating, dangerous scene. Who are we to critique Peter’s thrice denial? Everyone else fled.

    Ephesians 3:1 KJV
For this cause *I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,*
    Galatians 2:7-8
But contrariwise, when they saw that *the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;*
[8] (For he that wrought effectually in *Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:* )
    Acts 15:23,25
And they wrote letters by them after this manner; *The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles* in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:
[25] It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, *to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,*

Peter was leading the early church Dr. Gray said. Peter was going here and there preaching the good news with John. The one who stayed in Jerusalem to protect the community was James. Thereafter James became the 1st bishop of Jerusalem. The situation was even more fluid than that. Ladies as well as guys were preaching. There was a female hierarchy.of preachers led by Mary Magdalene and the other hierarchy comprised James, Peter and John. If you read the gospel.of.Thomas? You will see the statement by Thomas to Peter - "Jesus preferred Mary (Magdalene) to you." So it was a bit more fluid then the good Professor is trying.to convey in the beginning. Why do they ignore or hurdle over the.leadershop position of James? But by the time Peter gets to Rome, he is in the ascendancy and Mary Magdalene is out of the limelight altogether. Thereafter the leadership becomes exclusively male up to today.

It's funny. Protestant fundamentalists used to be able to marshal evidence from the biblical record and actually attempt to make a forensic argument for debate. Now, what passes for accepted wisdom in Protestant fundamentalist circles is bald assertion, or worse, derisive comments, tauntingly repeated. You probably believe you're saying something.
i). Let me show you what I mean. In Tanakh (what Christians call the Old Testament), BOTH YHWH AND His covenant mediator (Abraham) are spoken of as 'rock': YHWH in an ordinate, infinite, ultimate, absolutely transcendent sense; and Abraham in a subordinate, finite, penultimate, limited sense.
"Give ear, O heavens, and let me speak; let the earth hear the words of my mouth! May my teaching soak in like the rain, and my utterance drench like the dew, like a downpour upon the grass, like a shower upon the crops. For I will proclaim the name of the LORD, praise the greatness of our God! The Rock-how faultless are his deeds, how right all his ways! A faithful God, without deceit, just and upright is he!"
      cf. Deut. 32: 1-4
"Listen to me, you who pursue justice, who seek the LORD; Look to the rock from which you were hewn, to the quarry from which you were taken; Look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth; Though he was but one when I called him, I blessed him and made him many."
      cf. Isaiah 51: 1-2
Unfortunately, most Protestant fundamentalists think in starkly binary: EITHER....OR....thinking. This is NOT the biblical manner of thinking. It isn't: either YHWH is 'Rock', OR man is 'rock'. The biblical method is: BOTH...AND... - both YHWH is 'Rock' (in an ultimate sense), AND man is 'rock' (in a penultimate sense).
ii). With regards to the papacy, the typical Protestant fundamentalist objection is the same strictly binary mentality: EITHER Christ is 'Rock', OR Peter is 'rock', but they both CAN'T be. This is not biblical thinking. Take a look at this passage:
"Come to Him, a living stone, rejected by human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of God, and, like living stones, let yourselves be built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it says in scripture:
'Behold, I am laying a stone in Zion, a cornerstone, chosen and precious, and whoever believes in it shall not be put to shame.'" cf. I Peter 2: 4-6
In just three short verses, BOTH Jesus Christ is metaphorically referred to as 'Rock' ("Come to Him, a living stone...."), AND those who have become children of God are referred to as 'rock' ("...like living stones, let yourselves be built...."). Obviously Christ is a 'stone' in an absolutely transcendent sense. However, that doesn't prevent St. Peter from referring to human beings who have come to saving faith in Christ ALSO as "stones" in a subordinate, dependent, limited sense. THIS is the biblical manner of thinking: BOTH...AND.....; not, EITHER.....OR....
      Let's look at another passage:
Obviously Jesus Christ is spoken of as the 'cornerstone'. That doesn't prevent, however, St. Paul from referring to the 'apostles and prophets' ALSO as being 'foundation' (bedrock) AND, by further extension, believers in Christ through the preaching and teaching of the 'apostles and prophets; are ALSO spoken of as 'rock' (you also are being built into a dwelling place of God - an oblique reference to the Temple in Jerusalem as a metaphor for the members of the Church):
"So then you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone. Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." cf. Ephesians 2: 19-22
iii). With this in mind, it is worth looking again at the verses which Protestant fundamentalists weep, wail and gnash their teeth over:
"Jesus said to him in reply, 'Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it."
      cf. Matthew 16: 17-18
The typical Protestant fundamentalist objection is EITHER Christ is 'rock', OR Peter is 'rock', but they both CAN'T be 'rock'. And YET, here is Jesus Christ (the 'cornerstone'), calling Peter 'rock'. Obviously, the words are necessary, but what is important is what they mean. Protestant fundamentalists mistakenly believe the Catholic Church teaches, and individual Catholics believe, Peter is being spoken of as on the same level as Jesus Christ. But that is NOT so.
ONLY Jesus Christ is divine. Only Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, the second person of the Holy Trinity. But that 'cornerstone, from His own mouth, calls St. Peter 'rock' in a subordinate, dependent, finite, penultimate sense: "YOU are rock".
Obviously, Jesus Christ doesn't mean, "YOU are God". Nor does He mean: "YOU are equal with me". What He DOES MEAN, however, is, "YOU are my prime minister", "YOU are the first among the Apostles". There is such an abundance of evidence from the biblical record that this is so.
