You helped me to see that I am grieving. It especially helped for me to hear that God has not left me, given up on me, but He is still with me through all of this. I also was reminded that all things work for the good for those who love God.

Thank you for sharing this sermon. I felt a strong pull from the Lord to read 1 Peter. It's my first time reading as I'm still learning the Bible. I felt He wants to give us instructions how to live until He comes. He is coming back soon.
I understood the love of God before I was born again but it was realizing the holiness of God that exposed my corruption and I finally understood that I was accountable for my many sins. Then repentance flowed from that understanding. In that very moment He showed me an image of Jesus on the cross. That’s when I experienced the new birth attended by the Holy Spirit. Talk about a living hope!
@@wigglesworth3717 I just read your comment 2 years after it was written. I had to reply because I too was shown Jesus on a cross. I can only explain it as a “forced” image in my mind. 🙂
We have have had some heavy trials that hit us all at once the last 3 1/2 months. I have been grieved and have felt so guilty as a Christian because of it. My prayer through this has been for the Lord to teach me and to have a teachable learning heart. Im so glad I heard this message tonight because Jesus through this teaching encouraged me that we can grieve through trials, it’s okay. Just keep looking ahead towards Jesus and He will get us through and teach and grow us in the process.

Yemisrach Regassa Why Most Believers Are Not Born Again or Filled With The Holy Spirit Do you really know what Jesus meant by being born again or born of the Spirit. Do you understand what it means to be born of God. The majority of believers have sought their wisdom of God and scripture from some preacher at a local church. Why this is wrong is because Jesus is alive, He has risen and He commanded you to follow Him. Jesus is our one and only teacher but yet most believers do not know how to communicate with Jesus since they never learned how to test the Spirits as instructed in 1 John 4. “It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” John 6:45 NKJV “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” I John 4:1-6 NKJV Many believers have been taught that they are born again once they accept Jesus and they receive the Holy Spirit and this is completely false. Scripture does not actually state that! You did not instantly become more knowledgeable about God’s truth once you received His Spirit. You may have repented of your sins and Jesus forgave you but you are still an unclean believer because you can still sin. This is why you need to be sanctified in truth so that you can learn how to overcome sin and start living a Holy life. It is the job of the Holy Spirit to make you Holy just as Jesus was Holy but you need to do your part by surrendering your will to the Spirit. You can only follow the will of God for your life by understanding how to test the Spirits. Sadly this is where the majority of believers go astray and they become stagnant since most have never even heard about testing the Spirits. If you do possess the wisdom behind testing the Spirits then you must submit to the purification and sanctification process that God requires from all His disciples. It is a hard time consuming and even painful process because God has you take the devil head on. God does this so that you will learn how to overcome all of your fears by standing against the lies and the deceptions of the devil. This process is kind of like what Jesus had to endure when He fasted in the wilderness for 40 days and this is what Paul was referring to when me was talking about his thorn in the flesh. After you completed this process you are now Sanctified in God’s truth, you heart is now pure, and this is when you are now born again and full of the Holy Spirit. Why? Because now that your heart is pure you can never sin again since you are now an overcomer who is born of God and so you will now be allowed to SEE and ENTER the kingdom of God. Hence, “Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8 NKJV. This is how you go about experiencing heaven while living here on earth. Now some people have asked well what if someone dies and they were never sanctified or born again. Does this mean that they cannot get into heaven? Let me explain God’s process the best that I can. Once you accept Jesus into your life you now possess the Holy Spirit and you are then saved. Now only a very few will ever mature in the Spirit and experience the sanctified life that God desires for everyone and they will then receive rewards in heaven for their faith. The majority of believers will never grow in the Spirit since they will fall for one of Satan’s many deceptions and they will eventually fall away from truth and perish. Now there will be some believers who will continue in sin out of ignorance of truth but they will still end up in heaven without being born again in this here life. You see once they die to this earthly life their sinful flesh is now gone but their born of God Spirit remains and so then can now enter into heaven in their pure Spirit. They of course will never experience God’s heavenly blessing here on earth nor will they be receiving any rewards in heaven either. Now read these following scriptures and see how they all tie in with what I have just related. “Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,” I Peter 1:22-23 NKJV “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot SEE the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot ENTER the kingdom of God.” John 3:3-5 NKJV “Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” I John 3:4-9 NKJV “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.” I John 5:18-19 NKJV “According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.” I Corinthians 3:10-15 NKJV So allow me now to explain to you what most do not understand. Once you accept Jesus into your life you are then anointed in the Holy Spirit, you are not born again and you are not Baptized in the Spirit or filled with the Holy Spirit. Upon accepting Jesus into your life you must now learn to communicate with Jesus and allow Him to purify and sanctify your heart in God’s truth. You do this through testing the Spirits. If you see God’s sanctification process all the way through then this is when you are born again here on earth. If you are born or God then you can no longer sin nor will you ever get sick since you are now filled with His Holy Spirit. “So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.” Exodus 23:25 NKJV

Thank you for always setting such wonderful context, it has been invaluable to me. Praise Jesus Edit: David, thank you for the wonderful sermon. As I wrote before I have always loved your context laying and found it helpful. With that said David, last night as I watched your sermon (not being surprised at all that it was this one) I was feeling certain things resonating just as I have before but at the end something so much more happened. I have felt convictions of Love from the Holy Spirit before but last night was by far the strongest and clearest his corrections have been. I have been praying for stronger reception and just wanted to share with you how big a role you played in another answered prayer for me!

Praise the lord Pastor David, wonderful message. Why do people believe that since you are redeemed by the blood of christ you can live any type of way and all you have to do is continue to Repent and God will forgive you, am I wrong for believing that is not true?
Just like the ugliness of things we see. We do not like. The related beast. The results. As children we cannot loose the respect. The understanding. If we are raised to understand consequences etc.
Born again? Who did Jesus tell to be born again? A Jew or Gentile? Jesus told a Pharisee, named Nicodemus, a Jew to be born again. Jesus was speaking to Israel as well saying they needed to be born again. Jesus, in Scripture, never said to a Gentile, for them to be born again. Jeremiah 31:31, says God would make a new covenant with Israel & Judah. Not Gentiles. Jews had to be born again to enter into the New Covenant. As I listen to you say "You can't live your life any way you want because God choose you", I have to question you as a pastor or teacher. How is one saved? If you profess baptism and confessing sins, along with your behavior, then your teachings are accursed. You are teaching people what Jews had to do. To be saved today, the Apostle Paul, the last apostle Christ chose and sent, said to believe 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. I won't tell readers these verses because you need to read it for yourself. Paul goes onto say it's by faith. To him that worketh not but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly. That person's faith saved them the moment they believe. So, you saying a person may not be saved is heresy. Your a "Do right teacher or your lost." That's heresy. Paul repeatedly says it's by faith and not by works. After a person is saved, they should stop calling themselves "Christians" and call themselves Grace Ambassadors for Christ. Justin Johnson Jesus commissioned the twelve apostles (including Peter) to begin their kingdom ministry in Jerusalem (Luke 24:47). From there they would minister to Judaea, then Samaria, and finally the Gentiles (Acts 1:8). Their message never got past Jerusalem. The rulers of Israel rejected the kingdom gospel by murdering Spirit-filled Stephen (Acts 7:59). Consequently, Peter’s audience did not go beyond Israel and the believing remnant that expected to see God’s kingdom come to Earth. Jesus called this believing audience his “little flock” (Luke 12:32). This is Peter’s audience in his epistles. It is commonly explained that his epistles were written to Gentile Christians. There is little scriptural support for this idea. It’s time to set the record straight. Learn to rightly divide the Scriptures and know Peter isn't speaking to us, he was speaking of one under the Law, and the things Jesus taught Jews, not what Christ was teaching Gentiles. Peace and grace to you.
Pastor Lance replies - clemdawg4360 The phrase "born again" is not limited to Jews. A few more vs, of even more ... 1 Peter 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has BEGOTTEN US AGAIN to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead," 1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is BORN of Him. 1 John 3:9 Whoever has been BORN of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. BTW - that last verse makes clear that saving faith, as opposed to a mere said-faith, is genuine BIBLICAL faith - which is the point Pastor David was making. I recommend you subject your thoughts to the Letter of James.

Thanks for a beautiful and very helpful condensation of this chapter - I now have greater clarity.
You're very welcome, glad it was helpful!
Beautiful!
Lela, your attitude and faith are encouraging. God is for you and not against you. (Romans 8:31) Keep following Jesus! Blessings.

Yemisrach Regassa Why Most Believers Are Not Born Again or Filled With The Holy Spirit
Do you really know what Jesus meant by being born again or born of the Spirit.
“It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.”
John 6:45 NKJV
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.”
I John 4:1-6 NKJV
Many believers have been taught that they are born again once they accept Jesus and they receive the Holy Spirit and this is completely false.
“Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,”
I Peter 1:22-23 NKJV
“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot SEE the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot ENTER the kingdom of God.”
John 3:3-5 NKJV
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.”
I John 3:4-9 NKJV
“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.”
I John 5:18-19 NKJV
“According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”
I Corinthians 3:10-15 NKJV
So allow me now to explain to you what most do not understand.
And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”
Exodus 23:25 NKJV

I was looking for a sermon today on I Peter for a women’s study and “stumbled” on this sermon. Praying today for you, your family and ministry. I appreciate your attention to detail and to the heart and truth of the gospel. This was encouraging and convicting at the same time. I feel like I found a new brother in Christ. God bless.
How could anyone put a thumb down for this teaching ?

Thank you for always setting such wonderful context, it has been invaluable to me. Praise Jesus
Edit: David, thank you for the wonderful sermon.

You are right that is no holy life!
Can it get any crazier? (See 2020)
It definitely got crazier here in the past 3 years😅
Are you able to do some genesis commentary?
Heaven is space. Jesus' promise is the 1500-mile holy city which has landed on Jerusalem of the new Earth with new glorified bodies. Am I wrong?
Just like the ugliness of things we see. We do not like. The related beast. The results. As children we cannot loose the respect. The understanding. If we are raised to understand consequences etc.
A man🙏
*Mr. Spock...
I am too stupid
What ever or who ever or how ever YOU had nothing to do with it.
Justin Johnson
Jesus commissioned the twelve apostles (including Peter) to begin their kingdom ministry in Jerusalem (Luke 24:47).
Pastor Lance replies - clemdawg4360
The phrase "born again" is not limited to Jews. A few more vs, of even more ...
1 Peter 1:3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has BEGOTTEN US AGAIN to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,"
1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is BORN of Him.
