  • Hi friends here's a video I have made of how I paint a Blood Bowl Gutter Runner for the underworld/skaven teams. This is a dark style of colours using greys to supplement blacks to avoid of loosing details on the miniatures. This is just a personal choice of colours and you are more than welcome to join in and use the same schemes for your teams too. Sorry for the focus issues in this video, I have been under a very short limited amount of time with making this video due to work commitments.
Thank you so, so much to everyone for viewing my videos and I really do hope you like them. I hope that I have been able to help people out and offer some alternative ways to paint and make cool effects for your miniatures. Together we can keep growing out amazing hobby. Keep painting friends!
I would like to add a special thank you to my good friend Mark Llewellyn for his amazing backing music. My videos wouldn't be anywhere near as good without them.

I love the squid pink and the moot green colours. I rarely get a chance to use them, and every opportunity is to do so is more than fun. I think the pink was a great choice. It brought the whole model together and really gave my eyes the chance to wander around the whole mini, from face to tail.
The white colours for the fur was unique as well. I would have instinctively went to browns, so it was really cool to see your creative side come out, and go in a direction I would never have thought to do. And that is the wonderful thing about this hobby ; Seeing what others will come up with.
Your videos are so calming, knowledgeable, creative, and helpful. Thanks for everything you do, Dan.
As always, much Love from Canada. 💖
    Cheers, my friend. 🍻
See you in the next one...

Those are two of my favourite colours. I love being able to try and find an excuse to use a nice bright and vibrant colour instead of the same old thing. Thanks for some great feedback on this video my friend I’m so happy to know that certain bits popped out for you like the tail and especially the fur. I do enjoy trying to paint a good mixture of different fur types on skaven and find that extra diversity adds more character and depth to the team/army. Same as painting rank and file armies, it’s always nice to have a mixture of different skin tones and diversity in the tabletop and to bring more character and colour to the hobby too.

Thank you so much! I’m happy you enjoyed the video. I really love the pink and it has to be one of my favourite colours. It works really great for sci-fi pink hair too on futuristic models. Thank you so much for dropping by, watching and commenting it is very much appreciated.

Really like your channel, some great tutorials there!
I wonder how you have done the goblins for your underworlds denizens team - do you mind sharing?
A team overview video or something like that would be cool 🙂
    Cheers

That’s a great idea. The underworld team was painted for my friend to use in tournaments so I don’t currently have them here. I can however do a video on my own goblin team although the colours are different it could still be useful to see them and the techniques being used. I’m very glad that you have enjoyed some of my videos so far though. It’s alway so nice to receive feedback on the channel and the videos that I make 🤟🏻

@@Bread0fHeaven I am particularly interested in how you did the armour of the goblins, as your scheme differs from the boxart scheme.
Nevertheless, also the other team would be nice to have a look at, as I am going to start painting my underworlds team soon.
Also a closer look at the dark elves team would be great.
      Cheers :)

Hi Dan, thank you for this awesome painting tutorial. Just one question: I am new to painting and was told to always use an undercoat spray (chaos black). Could you please tell me, why you don't use it?

      Of course.
Priming is a personal choice when it comes to colours. I don’t prime in black as it can take more layers to get the colours to show through especially colours like yellow and cream. I also find it difficult on times to see some of the very fine details on the miniature when it’s been primed black as I have bad eyes.
There are a few different reasons to prime in different colours. White primer will give you very bright colours when your miniature is finished and the colours can sometime pop and look very vibrant. Grey is a very good middle tone primer so you get the best of both worlds where the colours are still nice and bright but you also get a nice level of contrast from it. Black is dark but one of the main advantages of priming in black is that you don’t always have to paint some of the harder to reach areas like underneath coats/cloaks/clothing.
There is also another option called zenithal highlighting. This is where you can use a mid tone like grey over the whole miniature but then just spray white on the top only so you get a natural highlight and contrast while painting your miniature.
Like I said it’s all personal choice and I have a few friends who only prime in black as that’s the way they have always done it.
I hope this helps. I was planning on putting a video out about the different ways of priming and why it’s such a personal thing.
