He's so right about it. You'll never really turn a game around because of voice chat during a match, because random people will not listen to advice, tactics or callouts, no matter how nice or angry you are. It's at best redundant information and at worst a detriment to a person's self-efficacy.
False, in low elo you won’t. I’ve solod to global in cs in 2015 when it actually meant something, and I can tell you comms, strats and micromanaging retards and calling for people with no mics carried my ass hard. My favorite tactic in online games is being overly positive. Back when i still played Siege I would compliment the other team anytime they got a kill, apologizing and wish them good luck when they died, and of course hitting them with the good game. It made a lot of people very angry.
If you interacted like that with your raging team that would be called "being positive", interacting with an opposite team like that implies passive aggression. Receiving a genuine compliment from the opposite team is a rare occasion, and used mostly as a way to enrage your own team. Apologising each time after killing a player is just toxic. Sending actually good vibes rarely tilts players, from my experience at least
I replied to a raging manchild in a WoW Battleground by complimenting him on his nice work capping enemy bases once and he genuinely fell silent. He was probably shocked at seeing the first positive comment ever posted in that game.

Reminder that the oldest song ever recovered, starts with the mourning of long gone days. Also, the oldest document ever, also starts with some variation of "Long ago, when things were good". In reality we're all just Lil Bros who miss when we lived in innocence and bliss, yes sometimes things get better and sometimes they get worse; but most of the time, we only pay attention to the bad of today, and we only notice the good long after it's gone. Something something, "Theres nothing new under the sun". Billions have come before us, many more will travel the same roads long after we're gone.
Well before you were around, people would say the nastiest shit possible in public lobbies and make kids cry (or kids made grown men cry, go figure). All that without stupid policing. Now you say "dark skin" and the game's out of your library.
I’ve come to the point where if I hear someone even indicate that they might possibly become toxic if things don’t go their way then I mute them preemptively. Or my entire team, helps me enjoy the game much more
In all of years playing league and any online game, i discoverd that tilt is the most valuable assets, if you have it on your team you loss if you infect it on the enemy team you win
Three season ago i had 80% wr on Malzahar mid because i duo with a jg main. He would get me first blood for me most games so i could spam my jinx laugh emote at the enemy mid laner who would then flame me in chat after 5 full mins of it going off while i sit under tower getting all the last hits. Climbed from silver to plat doing this method and its where i learned to tilt the enemy team as much as possible. Remember if you can't win the matchup you certainly can win the mental game, and if you win that you win the game. Have your enemy turn on each other in chat, works most times if you get first blood and have an annoy emote.
People bringing up MW2, bro this isn’t even that far back bc this exact call out is something you’d hear in R6 Siege. Like bruh its a call out, idc how professional or good you are if you’re getting mad or snippy at a call out your a horrible teammate. The context doesn’t even matter, this one snippet is someone being butthurt that someone they thought was lower skill was telling them how to play. Good comms win competitive games, mute everyone if you can’t handle it
I just love that this type of small problem in other games can become a big problem in Valorant, I played Dota, and every time someone would yell at me "Use this" "Use that" countless times, and for me, that's a good comm. My view about it is don't jump it let the person who gets called say, "I know" If someone else jumps it like "he knows" or "she knows" it feels different because it happened to me many times, someone just said "He knows" or "probably knows" yet the person who gets called not knowing anything and realised it, so the person who said "He knows" ruined the message or the comm. Yet the person would defend, "This man is level 30 grandmaster of this hero, no way he doesn't know" or "This person played a lot on this character" Well sometimes in-game people lose focus under pressure. Even I get called like this sometimes annoying because I know what I am doing, and sometimes I feel dumb because not notice it, and I saw the comm not yelling so it's a good thing. So overall good comm. I am talking about the comm, I don't want to know outside it.
I honestly just assumed she was saying she knows because she knew the player. I feel like if they don’t know the player and they say that, that’s a different matter.
honestly i can’t stand if people give me comms like these cuz i never end up clutching. My playstyle is so different that I already have a plan in my mind and if someone tells me what i have or could do it 1. breaks my concentration and 2. pressures me to do something that wasn’t my plan just so i don’t have to hear: You should’ve done this or that.

I forget where I got this advice but it applies here. Everytime you get into an argument with someone online ask yourself what you lose if you lose the argument (reputation) and what you will gain if you win. Why risk your reputation arguing with a nobody? You know who wins there? The nobody.
Mm good advice. I always thought we can get mad.. but at the toher team.. and then just laugh it off at how heated everything got.. but it’s just a game at the end of the day.. thats why you go GG This was the vibe i had playing heroes of the storm.. pepole weren’t as toxic as other games.. and losing teams woudl be laughing GG the winning team for their strategy even if we were pisse.d. And vice versa.. a lot of peolpe would just continue playing with you even if you won or losss.. it wasn’t anywhere near toxic like lol over watch, cod lol..
Well said. More broadly speaking in these types of situations I try to follow the mantra of 'choosing your battles'. An online argument is a battle worth losing for your own sanity~
Yeah that’s why I stopped using mic in cod. People will report you for saying anything and then u get commbanned, just not worth it anymore. Plus asmon is right, while trash talking is fun, you’re ultimately better off not engaging.
a huge difference in val and cod comms are that information is the most important thing in valorant in cod comms are essentially useless so people will use them to have some fun or annoy people
It's really bad lately,I watched many people get banned instantly after new agent came out and they were saying I just got killed by a Trany and Clove is this and that 😂 people are making these videos for Click bait and views
People get so competitive & toxic like they forget the reason why they are even playing games anymore. It's for having a fun time & enjoying . You are not a professional player your career doesn't depend on it calm down holy shit. That's why I stick to Single player games.
Competitive games are not for having a fun time dude. They never were, they never will be. The goal is to be the best, simple as that. You don't have a "fun time" during that process, doesn't matter what you're trying to be the best at. If you want fun, go play some casual unranked game.
I think the worst is competitive games because I played CSGO for like 2 months and was fine but the very 1st competitive game I tried people fucking bullied me for not being as skilled as them. We still won the game though, but they were still hella toxic. I still favor pve games though because pvp can make you feel worse when you constantly lose against other players, even without toxicity.
The key is to not play with randoms and pubs. You play with your buds, and if you don't have 5 people you can trust to play a game of CS with...maybe it wasn't games that ruined your mental health? Maybe it was ruined before games?
Holy crap Asmon needs to give his editor a raise ASAP lmao. Thank you for giving more context editor, unlike the incel who posted the biased edited video
While the guy was also at fault, he didn’t make those e-girl comments in the voice chat, he was talking to his chat. Let’s not pretend like Joona is innocent. She was being a bitch by responding “she knows” to a comm not meant for her, acts like a victim when she gets called out for her bitchy attitude. The dude’s comm is helpful than what she said and he didn’t and can’t know whether the Clove knew she had ult. It isn’t about gender here. She just wants to make it one.
Huh? What are you on about. First of all, it wasn't exactly a good call, so "she knows" isn't really enough to warrant an entire argument like "Well you don't have to be such a bitch about it". The call was about as useful as saying "Hey, you know you have ammo in your gun".
In valorant i used to get in arguments with toxic pieces of shit, and what ended up happening is that I got banned, the algorithm doesn’t give a f*ck who started sh*t, you curse, you get banned unf*cking real how trash that system is. Nothing happens to people literally throwing the game, teamflashing, friendly fire is w/e. Best practice is to instantly mute anyone being toxic. So even with the context of them actively trying to troll here, there was no need to go “she knows”. It’s a 1v1 you have ult, if you KNOW, it doesn’t distract you. If you don’t know it’s good to have someone tell you that, additional information to play with. If they were being actively toxic before that happened, just mute them and play the game. Someone even if it’s a friend calling out bullshit during a high pressure round is distracting af, even if it’s defending your actions, if you want to help in the moment, tell them to be quiet. “Let her play”, is more valid comm than “she knows”. And if they KEEP talking after that you have the moral high ground + you know they’re trying to sabotage on purpose and can mute/report them. Edit: the very reason they probably weren’t muted right away is cause it’s content for her as well.
did she get that voice tone because the creator knew she is going to have huge ego, or did she got it from having a huge ego its the only question for me here.

While that dude was shitty, girl still answered for no reason and cluttered voice with unnecesary info during 1v1. Also even if someone is good, it sometimes good to remind people of things, you dont know the state of mind of the other player, he can geniuenly forget and I have caught myself in this situation many times throughout my life. Like, one of the most frequent games I play is MWO and theres the thing called override mode and you basically go into it right from the beginning every single match and theres no reason not to. Thats something you do every start of the match and people still sometime forget this very basic thing.
What if the person that has ult knows what to do with the ult when playing that round? The "she knows" response is absolutely okay. This is Valorant, u buy guns and abilities every round, this person has ult b4 the planting, she knows already what to do with it. For further context this hero/agent Ult can be used after she dies. So telling the person that she has it is somewhat useless bcz even if she doesnt know she has ult/abilities, she can revive herself again.

Funny how you think two mere words is cluttering the voice with unnecessary info. But them spiraling into an argument based on those two words isn't cluttering the voice with unnecessary info. As for your other part about reminding players since you don't know the state of their mind. Okay, so lets' say "Hey, you do know you are holding a gun. You do know it has ammo. If you interacted like that with your raging team that would be called "being positive", interacting with an opposite team like that implies passive aggression. Receiving a genuine compliment from the opposite team is a rare occasion, and used mostly as a way to enrage your own team. Apologising each time after killing a player is just toxic.

Edit: it was an ultimate he was calling out so it wasn't that good of a call out a good call out would be like seeing an enemy
@Sammysapphira also the comparison is awful don't try that again
