    I just got fitted for a new set of JPX 919 Hot Metal irons. I'm moving up from my current set of Mizuno JPX-EZ. The 919 Hot Metal, feel even better/smoother than the EZ, there longer as well. My off-center hits only lose a little distance and still feel great. Lastly, my JPX-EZ look like game improving irons. The 919(s), just looks incredible.

    Like the fact that you test all three versions in one video. Much easier to compare and contrast.

    Having hit the Tour and Forged recently I can definitely say the Tour has a softer feel on centre strikes. The Forged felt like a slightly softer version of the JPX 900 Hot Metal but was powerful. I could definitely feel the boron influence. Definitely considering the Tour as it was much easier to hit than expected though slight off centre strikes were punished by 2-3 metre loss in distance. Ill test the Tour against my Srixon Z765 and make a decision. Beautiful looking irons....especially the Tour.

    I have the Forged 900 and wondered about the new ones but your review leaves me still wondering. A head to head would be very helpful instead of leaving me wondering what they did to change them.

    These are carrying on from JP32 & 33
    I loved those irons and I owed the 33. These follow on from those great irons

    I just bought the JPX 919 forged, but had the factory bend them weaker 2 degrees to match the tour lofts to increase spin. Hope they work well

    Great review! Would love to see a comparison with the jpx 919 forged and the mp 18 sc.

    2nd review of yours I’ve watched. Good content, especially the TS fitting vid. One suggestion - trim these down a bit. More hits, less filler in between.

    I am a huge fan of the Forged, after seeing a few reviews though I may go and hit the Hot Metal. Those actually look interesting with the Chromoly.

    Just got brand new MP-18's. I really like JPX 919 forged. I wish they were not so strong. Hard to blend compared to MP-18. I would like to see you test the forged at 1 degree weak, DG-120 X100. I would like to see spin & launch numbers. I am the same body type as you only 6' 1" tall. I love my MP-18MMC 4 iron. Specs: 23 degrees, 1.5 upright, 1/4 longer, D-4. Modus 120 Stiff. I let you in on a secret for your customers. Standard grips are Golf Pride New decade. They weigh only 46.5 grams & effect swing weight by 1 point. In reality with a standard 50-52 gram grip they would measure D-3. You are losing about 2-3 grams of mass from the head. It does make a difference in the feel & performance in the short irons as to how the club releases. Srixon is D-3 standard, D-4 PW.

    Really helpful.If the 919Forged still have that Mizuno feel and some forgiveness, would you agree are the 919Forged a better choice for a ~HC12. looking for more feedback and consistency ... I currently play MP-30s and my instructor says they are hurting me as I get older and stiffer... Love the look of the MP-18SCs but not sure if that is a just a newer version of what I have which is a fairly unforgiving muscleback which sings only when you hit it pure ...Cheers

    I’m using Wilson V6, do you think there’s much difference in playability? I heard the V6’s are more difficult to play than the 919 tours?

      I had the V6’s and only changed because I loved the Staff Model blade but honestly I though the V6 was one of the best irons out there. I felt they were very forgiving for a small head as the longer irons had the split tungsten.

    Excellent review as always! Now I’m stuck deciding if I want to retire my C300 Forged irons for the 919 Forged.... hmmmm any input on the comparison of the two would be much appreciated!

    Thanks for the review Mike, to me all three versions look stunning. I agree with joacim that a comparison with the new Srixon Z 785 & 585 would be very interesting.

      How’s the forged 919?
      I’m on mp18 mmc also, but what difference are you finding with the 2?

    Would you date to do a best better player iron from the last 3 years without thinking about thinking about developer.
    My point is that reviews could have to do with subsidies without knowning if that has anything to do with the scoring of brands and new releases.
    My point is that is that its more the abillity of the " Indian than the arrow" but everthing could be impacted by sponsership.
    Not knowning if that is the case.
    I love your reviews I just want to know that you have the outmost Independent mindset.
    Love the review - keep me coming !

    I think a lot of golfers would enjoy a blend of HMP, forged and tour irons but the lofts make it seemingly impossible. Thoughts?

    • @MichaelNewtonGolf
      @MichaelNewtonGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can be tough but is possible by altering lofts. MP20’s lend themselves more for combo set

    • @jamcop123
      @jamcop123 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael Newton Golf thanks for this. I always wonder how much the adjustments would effect the bounce and offset to each club. Turf interaction could be negatively impacted perhaps. Cheers
