I love that these shots are just the game itself. No special filters. No third party animations. No console commands to add more enemies on the screen to make battles look bigger than what they are ingame. It's just how the game plays.
Thats the biggest part of it! It's already so much like a movie. All I did was color correct to get blacks a bit darker and a slight blue filter to help drive home the creek feel. I wish I could've captured more on helldiver difficulty, but I think you can imagine how chaotically hard it would be to get shots like this hahaha!
@@TacoNightShenanigans Just yesterday out of pure randomness, I saw one of those jumping bugs get on top of a high stone as we were running away. It then proceeded to make some "Target acquired" animation, only for a swarm of bugs to walk out of both corners of such stone, like it was acted on purpose like a cutscene. I know it was all random, but man, this game's chaotic nature give all sorts of movies vibes.
@@Dexter01992 Hell yeah, just today, I was doing a bug hunt on one of those closed in maps and I swear a charger looked at me, saw which way I was running, and avoided running at me to block me off so the rest of the swarm could get me. And then there was the time a bot warrior baited me out with an easy shotgun kill and the commisar _threw a grenade at his own men_ to get me. Sometimes the AI just straight up outsmarts us, I guess.

Unpopular opinions here: the most terrifying sight in any automatons missions is the split second you see that red glow shining from the top of the towers
Within the first five seconds of dropping, I’ve got ol’ glowing eye Peeping Tom locked on my position dropping three tanks and a hulk.

Yeah I was once locked on by one but luckily had a rock in front of me I used for cover. Couldn’t even try to poke out. Squad was asking me why I wasn’t moving. Well make it turn elsewhere and I move. I sure ain’t gonna take a step out of here. This rock is the foundation of my life. Then Hulk said otherwise. I not even sure what killed me but that rock … stood firm like … well a rock. Every time I see one like that one, I salute it.

I can still hear the clanking of metal, the grinding of gears, and the screams of my brothers. I was there during the first Battle for Malevelon Creek. I have since returned, like so many others, to attempt to reclaim the Creek. The battle still rages. The metal still clanks, the gears still grind....and there are still screams. But Helldivers don't surrender. FOR DEMOCRACY!

I was a part of the initial push on the Creek, back when most players were still messing around on the bug planets. Honestly been really fun to watch the community rally around what was once not much more than a footnote in the larger conflict, something that was only ever really talked about in memes at the time.
I genuinely adore this community. This is gonna be a fun time with this game!

Anyone who wasn't there for the first battle of the creek had no idea how actually fucked it was. The game devs were testing the waters to see how much 400k players could take on a single planet, and it was wild.

There's been more than one player I've dropped in with who goes full WH40K, myself included, but there's a player who only calls out the Automatons as Chaos forces. I'll hear "Traitor Legions on the horizon!", common foot soldiers to him. "Khorne Berserkers advancing!", those flaming buzzsaw bastards. "Contemptor Dreadnaught!" and I know it's the hulks after us. Bless him but he gets my blood pumping whenever I hear him. Never did get his handle though. I just know him when I hear him. What a game.

It’s been weeks on the creek. I ran through two large operations last couple days and had zero impact. We took out every outpost, got every objective, extracted most of the squad, but the planet is still less than 0.00000 percent liberated

I remember my first deployment to the Creek, never was the super destroyer so quiet during FTL. Even on the way down usually filled with speaches or songs, the silence was almost deafing. When we landed Captain C1 brought us together in a circle maybe 40 meters from the objective, he didn't say a word. He put his com channel on open yelled "For Super Earth!" then played his war mix. Curated from the classical music archives. Heh, Probably not regulation but that was Cap.
