I love that hollywood took Sonic as a lesson when making animated characters to live action, Keep it cartoony with a hint of realism instead of the other way round and you can't go wrong
I really don’t see the point : this looks EXACTLY like the animated movie. The dragons look great, but they look just like their animated counterparts. It’s just like the original but with more textures. There’s no point outside of money.

Looks promising, but it’s doomed if the story’s exactly the same! We already know how it unfolds as animation and it’s perfect there. Repeating that in live action, trying to mimic the original, will just turn into a hollow imitation.
When people run out of stories they make things like this, this shouldn't have made into a live action, read the books and watch the animated trilogy and that is a great experience. I can tell the movie would be a disappointment.

HTTYD couldve easily been made in live action in 2010 with the same script and been a massive success, but it was made in 3D CGI and there is, to this day, nothing wrong with it. This entire project is unnecessary and insults those who love animation and see it as a worthy medium onto itself. It looks exactly the same as the original! As in, it feels like expensive cosplay and not something in-world, worn and convincing. Also, if this was filmed for IMAX, why can't I tell by the trailer?

Anything imax now is 1.90:1 ratio. They call it “extended aspect ratio”. If it was shot with 65 mm cameras it will screen 70 mm/15/70 perf/ 1.43:1
