I heard this epic song live for the second time in a week last night from the conquering heroes returning to their original home base in Melbourne .. they brought Colin Greenwood of Radiohead fame with them to play bass for the shows because why not! Last week the shows were at the magnificent Hanging Rock site which has only been used as a concert venue for about 10 years and neither legend has ever played there before in any of their bands .. this week they are at a beautiful old theatre called The Palais in "this fucked up suburb" as Nick described St Kilda where he has been performing live since The Boys Next Door days of the late 1970s, he was (kind of) joking and said it's great to be back, having not been able to tour Ghosteen at all because of the pandemic, so there has not been a proper Bad Seeds tour here in almost 6 years since the cosmic Skeleton Tree tour of 2017 .. Nick has only done a short tour with Warren of their film music and a solo 'conversation' tour here in all that time, both of which were in 2019 after they had largely recorded Ghosteen but not finished or released it yet. The mesmerising concerts have featured every song from Carnage and almost all of Ghosteen, plus assorted older songs .. I can die happy now because I have heard/experienced Hollywood live twice, going for my hat-trick :)
