I just checked the Twitter of the Demonschool dev, apparently they’re delaying their release until Q1 2025. I got so excited watching this video because it was so close to my birthday but now it’s so far 😭
The ones i'm looking forward to play are Boyhood's end and Greedfall 2, Greedfall 2 in particular is looking to give an old Bioware kind of vibe. Also love the T-Shirt.
We're swimming in an ocean of outstanding RPGs! I'm currently playing Trails Through Daybreak, but I'm looking forward to Dragon Quest III, Ys X, Reynatis and more.
I'm so excited for the Ace Attorney Collection. I played the fan translation of Prosecutor's Gambit over a decade ago, and it quickly became one of my favorites in the entire series. I'm looking forward to having an excuse to replay them both, as they're the only games in the series that I never played more than once.
Zelda is my September highlight too! (Besides Astro Bot) We waited 11! years for a new traditional 2D Zelda game and even longer for a fully playable princess Zelda. I couldn't be happier.
I havent heard about a lot of these and I consider my self pretty well in the know of games and indie games Keylocker, bloomtown, reynatis, and cricket all look absolutely fantastic. Demon school might be most most anticipated from this list. (My wife is a massive zelda fan and already preordered echoes of wisdom. She even has a zelda sleeve tattoo lol) One last one i might add is Mirthwood. Its a 2D indie western rpg that reminds me a lot of FABLE, but with some elements of stardew valley. It’s one of my most anticipated games this year. The others being Metaphor ReFantazio, stalker 2, and indiana jones Next year im going crazy for fantasy life i (since it sadly got delayed again) and avowed (im a massive pillars of eternity fan) - kingdom come deliverance 2, path of exile 2 and fable (4), are also all extremely high on my list. Im typically a western rpg guy and have only gotten in jrpgs in the last few years, but my favorites are final fantasy 12 zodiac, persona 4&5, octopath traveler 1&2, bravely default 1&2+2nd, dragon quest 5,8, &11, dark cloud 1&2, rogue galaxy, and ni no kuni 1&2. I just started trails in the sky fc (about 10 hours in) and im prepared for the long haul that is the whole series. Loving it so far, and I actually really enjoy the slow world building. Ive heard it only gets better.
Sir! There are still three weeks of funtime suntime summery swimmy goodness! Don't you dare wish that early autumn evil on us! I am excited for Zelda, tho.
Oh cool Keylocker is finslly coming out. I played the demo and relly liked it. This is a nice month for RPGs. Not sure what I'll buy but Keylocker is at the rop of the list.
Flowstone Saga is pretty interesting; the only other game I can think of that has Puzzler combat is Sephonie, and that's not so much RPG with Tetris as it is 3D Platformer with Daedalian Opus.
Boyhood's end sounds really interesting. Will look more into it. Thanks David. Now if only they could release a dlc to mod 'hairstyle that looks like it comes from your nostrils for Visions of Mana' (joke)
7:10 For a second I was like "Huh, this game has great music, really catchy and likeable" but then it changed to "Just hold on a damn minute, I've been tricked" 🤣
This will be a backlog month for me. I am interest in Zelda, but I have like half a dozen other Zelda titles to get through first. I at least want to get through A Link Between Worlds, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom first since ALBW is the previous 2D title and BotW-TotK clearly influenced the open-ending problem solving mechanics. I may not play the series in any particular order, but I do like to at least have something coherent in how I tackle the games.
Indeed, that’s a lot for a bunch of NES and SNES roms. Of course they're classics for a reason and they added much needed quality of life improvements, but it's still a lot to ask, especially for someone who bought them digitally already.
Persona 3 reload episode Aigis will be released this month. I don't care about the price, Aigis is my favorite persona character and I want to see where her story goes
I am surprised that you just didn't outright use the name Tetris during your Flowstone Saga sponsor ad because that's what the combat is in this game, it's Tetris. :p
Kinda surprised to hear David like FF16 so much. I have really, really struggled to enjoy it. Been playing it since it came out on PS5 and I still havent beaten it because I can't stand to play it for more than an hour at a time XD
Demonschool actually looks really interesting... if it wasn't a spiritual successor to persona. The combat and everything looks really fun but im not about to play a game that involves doing school work lmao
I saw this on the news feeds! Could the new game be Ni No Kuni 3? I'm hoping that Level 5 is dropping a surprise reveal: Level 5 announced that the "Level 5 Vision 2024" event will air on September 24th. Games shown: - Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road - FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time - DecaPolice - Professor Layton and the New World of Steam - New Title
Not exactly an RPG, but please keep an eye out for a game called Yars Rising, on 9/10. Developed by the team behind River City Girls, Shantae, and the criminally underrated The Mummy Demastered.
Summer ends September 22nd. So still have almost 3 weeks of it. I want Demon School and Bloomtown. I MIGHT buy FF16 for my PC but I'll probably wait for it to go on mega sale in a year or so. Do you know if Demon School or Bloomtown are getting physical releases?
Also the JRPG named Quartet seems to be PC only for the moment but since they reached the Switch port tier on their Kickstarter will the Switch port can be a thing in 2024 ?
Not really a fan of visual novels, some of these look close to being that I'll just play the DQM Dark Prince until the DQ 3 remake comes out then play that. Well Greedfall 2 looks appealing to me.
I played visons of Mana and after 11 hours decided that even on Beginner/can't DIE mode its TOO BORING so I'll just wait out for DQ3's remake instead and while Kai/Kuro 3 WILL be released in Japan first I may end up playing DQ3's remake first.
Great video as always. Just one thing...your voice is strangely lower than normal. This made the music very distracting and made it hard ti heear your voice... Sorry for the grammar , im Brazilian si english is not my native language😅
Does anyone know when Cricket Jae really peculiar game will be available on consoles ? Because im really interested in this game and it's seems PC only for the moment
@@davidvincI remember Playstation youtube channel upload a trailer for Cricket Jae really Peculiar Game for a release in August. I guess something changed since this trailer
From the devs themselves: "And yep, we are releasing Cricket on consoles: PS5 and Switch on 9/19! Thanks for asking, glad to know people are interested!"
Yeah, I wonder what the next big thing will be to replace it. I mean Elden Ring was huge, but you can't replicate that so easily. I imagine it will dry up in the next 10 years lol
@@aaronallen5439 the problem with Soulslike is the dev team and how they balance it. Look no further than Dark Souls -> Dark Souls 2 and the balance is completely off the charts.

@@davidvinc is that a solid date for flowstone bc they’re still working on the Japanese and Chinese localization
Well, it's the solid date for the English version at least
As someone who worked on the fan localization for AAI2, it's good to finally see an official release.
Thank you for your service
The tshirt is top notch David
Reynatis has been on my radar since its Japanese reveal, that obscure PS2 era action game aesthetic is my jam, can't wait to play it

I’m also playing daybreak and really enjoying it!
@owenj005 it's so good! I love Van as a protagonist
Bro when started playing the legend of zelda the memories flowed back to me man 😢
Unfortunately Demon School got delayed to early 2025

No problem!
Love the video. One thing to note, though: Demonschool has been delayed to Q1 2025.
Chef RPG is also coming on september (it's Early Access though) and it looks so good!

Definitely Reynatis for me this month.
I've been playing through the Ace Attorney Series with my girlfriend this year. Super excited for the Investigations collection

The closure is probably outside of Square Enix‘s control. They could contract any studio for a port.
