None of the "information" provided in this comment thread is correct. A diverter valve isn't going to have ANY effect on turbo spool or lag, whether it is vented or not. The purpose of the diverter valve is to relieve pressure and prevent air from flowing backwards back into the turbo. That's it. The car is not going to run rich. Anyone who says this either doesn't know how the Mk7 ECU works or doesn't understand air metering in general. The spacer valve definitely gives you the blow-off sound you are looking for... But followed by a whining sound from the engine. You can hear it very clearly in this video. It sounds like "wop wop wop wop wop" after the blow-off occurs. The GTI naturally recirculates the boost created in the turbo and does not want to blow anything off, that is the reason for the sound. A spacer is a minor version of a blow-off valve, like a younger sibling. I'm taking my spacer off because although it sounds tough when you hear the swoosh from the blow-off, your credit tanks immediately after when that whining sound occurs. ECS is an amazing company, but this not a good mod. Take it from somebody who has had this on their car for about a year.

Just ordered one! Hopefully shipping to Europe won't take too long
Any thoughts?
@@bril5232 idk how long it took (few weeks maybe) more than worth it. Loved it very much - enjoyment factor is great.
We even measured performance impact and if any there was 0.1 sec slower from 0-100 (might be human error tho as we did it with a stopwatch by hand, 4 runs each b4 and after install)
Unfortunately i totaled my GTI, if I would buy another one I'd certainly get this spacer again 11/10

Thank you, I found other cheaper brands in amazon but I am not sure if they differ in sound or all of them are good
@@bril5232 I guess when Design / hole size is similar the sound will be as well. There r multiple designs of them though like onyl 2 holes and or circular openings
Got these for a ‘17 Jetta 1.4t auto? I’d love to install it on my girl’s car without her knowing and see how long it takes her to say something.
Haha, no. But that would be hilarious.
Forge makes a BOV kit for that car. I actually have one if you are interested in getting one for her. Pulled it off my 1.4 when I went to the GLI.
I got one on my 2014 audi a4 but I can barely hear it. You can only hear it louder on the outside. How do I make it louder??
Do you got any issues now with it like engines light or decreased power ?
Any useful video for Audi 2011 A6 2L TDI? PLEASE 😊
Great just what we need more rice
Fantastic video guys! 👍
It's good for 5 minutes. 😅😅
You make one for the 2.7t b5 s4
So I installed a diverted valve space on my 2012 Audi Q5 about a month ago and I’ve got a check engine light for it P0299 which I believe last I checked was an underboost code. Is there a possible chance that the spacer is faulty or something else? I’m not too sure it’s my first turbo motor I get to work on myself.😬
So was the diverter valve space faulty or was there an issue elsewhere
Does it work with the gen 3 1.8t?
I need help...I have a 1.8 Jetta mk6.5 2017 tsi where do I find a part for that one
Did you ever find out if one is compatible? I have a 2016 Jetta 1.8 Sport.
What about to lose power?!!
They make any lag or issue
I have stage 2 with cts BOV and IS38
Thanks!!
No lag or loss of power.
Have one on a tt . Might be a horse or 2 power loss but it's not noticable.
I know this is a petrol addition but I’ve heard a few diesels flutter and just wondering if there’s anything you can do to make them flutter more, 1.9tdi btw
install a different airbox
Made my A4 run a bit rich and gave me 11mpg instead of the usual 20mpg.
Bruh ain’t no you lost 9 mpg of a damn dv spacer lmao
I have a 2014 Jetta sport wagon TDI. Is there one for my model car
I bought the tirque salutions one years ago sounded cool but honestly felt like it took away performance from my car.
You will run rich ish
So much saltiness in here....
I can taste it too.
Let's be real, having to do ridiculous mods like this just to make your car sound like an I30N stock is pretty embarrassing.
Ash Cosmo Bruv you made a whole video on the tiniest scratch I’ve ever seen. Do you expect us to take you seriously
@@John-cg1sx Damn you John.. I had to go waste the 4 seconds of my life watching the jerk off hand point at a tiny scratch💯😂😂💀thanks
AUDI GANG 4 LIFE
Can i put it in my car, 4 cylinder, variable geometry turbo
How is it on a dsg vehicle ?
I need to replace the diverter valve on my 08 passat 2.0T that is all stock and came across this spacer. Will it work with mine or should I not waste 70$
I’ve read on a couple forums that these types of diverters can actually damage your turbo and cause lag.
Any credibility to these claims?
Jordan DePasquale yes these aren’t good. Stick with a diverter valve, its better for the tsi/tfsi engines.
Agreed had one on my audi s3 caused me to have lower boost
Patrick Clay yup these literally just dump all your air (pressure) out to make some stupid noise instead of actually providing a performance boost to your engine
How come, you guys never do anything on the 4.OT platform?
We actually have some parts available for Audi's 4.0t's and we're developing some cool performance parts for them as well! Here's what we have currently available: bit.ly/3KJdEpf
Most people buy these then sell them.... makes the car sound like a school bus.
Most useless mod ever, literally increases spool time on the turbo.
why does it do that
Faster spool time means boost comes in fast which mean your car should be faster
No, no it doesn’t
Di
I'm wondering does this "diverter valve spacer" in the video can also fit in my 2017 passat 1.8t ?
Lame af
That’s a gross sound. I’ll pass on that part
Esta misma válvula funciona para Volkswagen Eos 2.0T ?
SO this is a ricer part? no real gains from this
So everything that dont add gains is rice part? what about the carbon covers? dis is not rice it luv for turb
semisplit, R.I.C.E. Is Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement. This part is technically functional so it doesn’t qualify as “rice.” But I get your point.
How would know that? Shush.
Danny Wetke carbon fibre is gains through weight reduction
Yes it's a ricer part. A weak Atmos imitator.
I am currently driving a MK5 GTI but I'll Swap an Audi S3 8P (2.0l) Engine in it. But those are the same right so this will fit?
The other spacer he showed will fit yes, Gti and s3 engines are both ea113 so have the same DV :)
@@bradp1237 Thank you!
Me gusto! Le queda a una tiguan r R 2020?
Question, I know you said in the vid it fits the TSI but just wanna make sure cause I have 2015 VW Jetta 1.8T and I wanted to get that for my car but I can’t find anything, any suggestions
Nice video don’t know much about cars but I have a 2013 jetta gli old gen where would that be located on my car any help I appreciate it thanks
Would it work on vw Passat? 2.0 diesel?
will this void warrenty and will this effect performance or just sound.
Hi ecs, I came across this video looking for a blow off valve for my car (2021 B9.5 Audi A4 Quattro). Do you think that the BOV, diverter valve, or spacer for the EA888gen3 will also fit the newer EA888gen4?
I'm having trouble finding one that I feel confident is the right shape and size and will properly fit.
