Personally I really liked Cold War for the multiplayer, the score streaks went off your points and not kill streak (I prefer this over games like MW2 that have no need for points)
The settings and functions like FOV was optional on consoles, the create-a-class was always so indecisive, and bringing back the old maps from BO2 but then polishing them up was such a good idea, along with the gold skins, unlike MW2 where everyone got gold it felt well deserved.
To be honest, cold war score streaks were my least favorite part of the game. By the end of each round, everyone had access to a high end streak, which made the game really frustrating. I absolutely loved face off 5v5 though. No streaks, just really fun gunplay on symmetrical maps

I will never understand how people will say the campaign from WAW was a step down from the Michael Bay action movie campaign from cod4. The most realistic depiction of the eastern/pacific fronts in their tone and sheer brutality. And the music, amazing. Overall cod4 is definitely better but its campaign should not be put on a pedestal.
Yeah the CoD 4 campaign is kinda forgetable but I loves WaW's. Especially the Black Cats mission. That soundtrack goes so fucking hard
I would rank world at war over modern warfare 2 any day. The gore in multi, the campaign, and zombies was just incredible
In my opinion call of duty is the Disney Pixar of the video game industry. It used to be original and creative but now it's cranking out the same old generic bullshit under a new name. World at war in my opinion was one of the last legitimately good call of duty games
There are couple of memorable missions from WaW.
Vendetta being one of my absolute favourites.
But idk, campaign wise, WaW lacks personality. I liked few odd storylines in WW2 instead, it felt like a more gripping game for this World War based CoD releases.
But WaW captured the World War 2 brutality very well.
Cod WaW was my first cod and was the only game I had for a long time, Im so proud of it, I love it so much, it is #1 for me.
saying bo3 zombies was forgettable without even mentioning chronicles hurts my soul to my core. but overrall good list!

MW3 I would put in my top five. Great way to end of the series and very balanced multiplayer. Along with that the most addicting and satisfying co-op, missions/survival missions to play with your friends.
Fr multiplayer was so un balanced and his game and this guy said it was on of the worst when it was the game to balance it and it had good maps

Call of duty ghosts was not only the first cod game I played but the first video game I ever played and despite all the hate it gets it is still one of my favourite games (even though the multiplayer is dead) replaying the campaign every couple of months is really fun

I’m pretty old having played every cod game, Ghost isn’t nearly as bad an entry as people make it out to be, but I remember distinctly when modern warfare 2 came out, the games started getting designed so noobs could destroy everyone and feel good. Really short time to kill, maps rewarding campers, kills streaks snowballing campers, etc.
I think modern warfare 2007 and world at war felt the fairest and funnest for me
@@diverman1023 The moment I finished the og Modern Warfare in one go, I realized the gaming world has changed. I still remember that day my parents werent at home and my grandma was at my place. The game was so easy and short that I finished it in a few hours. I started speed running the campaign missions of MW 2 and MW3 in veteran mode

I like Ghosts but putting aside my biased opinion, it was not that good. The only thing was unique about Ghosts was the player customization. It was fun playing as an astronaut or Zakhaev from cod 4 on multiplayer, oh and the weed suit lol. Gold camo was pretty sexy too but that's it. The maps, meh. Weapons, meh. Gameplay, decent. Ghosts was as mediocre as a Call of Duty can get.
Modern Warfare 3 was an absolute unit of a game, despite it being so controversial, this game blew me away as a child, same for every single modern warfare game prior.
I feel like I’m special despite being going from 9 years old since MW1 to being 13 during MW3 I still understand the story and cried at every sad moment.
And to this day I live off the reboot series, and it’s release of MW2 makes me emotional because of the constant throwbacks to the last games, seeing these characters back in all their glory makes me so happy the Devs made the reboot franchise in the first place.
So I would pretty much list every single MW game in the S tier.
Thank you Infinity Ward for making such a series, there isn’t another game that can top it.

I feel like the reason people didn't like MW3 that much is because after MW2 came out, it was so good that the expectations for MW3 went way too high. And because it wasn't exactly what people expected they didn't like it. Well, I liked it a lot even after MW2.
Not really. Black ops came after MW2 yet it was loved. WAW wasn't liked because of its setting. MW3 failed because it had reused just a little too much assets from MW2 for its time. And the game was also balanced like how Treyarch does. Having weak weapons be weak complete opposite of the idea that if everything is OP, then nothing is OP of MW2.
Mw3 mp was a masterpiece- quick scoping came back from the previous year in BO

Personally mw3 is by far my favorite cod but only cuz of nostalgia. That was my first cod game I’ve played and it introduced me to a world of great games. Plus, I would always play that game with my dad 24/7 making the divorce feel better. It left a ton of great bittersweet memories.
BO3 was my complete childhood. I enjoyed the campaign, I was basically addicted to the multiplayer and also loved the zombiemode. Definitely one of my favorite games of all time.

I actually played the first Call of Duty game. I had fond memories play the campaign missions. For example, breaching into enemy's ship to plan C4 at the engine bay

I know you didn't call waw a step back. Bro that campaign brought tears to my eyes. It was the first call of duty game where I felt like I was actually fighting a battle. Not to mention the end credits giving respect to all the soldiers that gave their lives in the war was something I'll never forget.

World at War holds a place in my heart at the first ever CoD I played, went to my cousins house and we played the campaign, never beat but it was still fun nonetheless

I feel like infinite warfare should be getting credit for almost every mode. I feel like the campaign should get credit for the incredible visuals of almost every location and how it managed to make us care for some characters (E3N). Multiplayer should get some credit for introducing some wacky but also cool futuristic weapons. Even some of the specialist weapons. Zombies should get credit for how good the maps were created and the vibe it was meant to give. I feel like zombies was supposed to distance itself from the serious tone that treyarch gave and decide to be a fun goofy zombies mode.

You can buy the weapon variants with the salvage you get from playing (you can alos choose which one you want) and as for dlc shit you got those from challenges or if you bought the season pass which gave all dlc guns for free except the axe

thank goodness that you put IW and AW above Vanguard, those two were 10/10 fun experiences. but for me, AW is my most Fav, probably because of I fell in love with the concept of exoskeletons and cloaking systems, which oddly enough IW doesn't have even though it's far more advanced than AW

Vanguard is basically: YES! We are fighting each other in WW2 we have "fun" and not getting anyone to feel bad.
I still remember the demo of CoD2, i played that level so much that i could finish it blind folded. Dipped after World at War though, didn't really care for the more modern settings.
Honestly MW 2019 was imo one of the best moments for me at least, everyone on the planet it feels like was playing warzone with the boys during lockdown. It was amazing

I really enjoyed the face off feature in mw3 where you and a buddy could face off against two randoms or even make it 1v1 2v2 or 3v3

My first and my fav game will always be Call of Duty MW 4, its just so good intruducing price and soap, my fav mission was the assasination one in chernobyl but sadly you were able to shoot off an arm only :(
Macro you said the bo3 campaign was better than zombies? the story for zombies is so in-depth and my fav zombies of all time. but the story was confusing and boring and the plot twist made it even more confusing for casual players who were trying it out. with no memorable missions other than the weird finale. this is the favorite cod I've played by far with numerous great memories but I might just be biased.

Mw3 and bo1 were unique and enjoyable I remember when I was addicted to bo1 zombies and mw3 multiplayers back in 2011, I used to play them both every 6 hours straight
i didnt like bo1 zombies but bo2/bo3 zombies were peak. Mw3 had a good mp, ma boi here has no idea about call of duty. Cod4 is rly bad in comparison to cod2.

I played the first COD at launch. I remember launching it and got sucked in, and some hours later when the credits rolled I snapped out of it like wtf happened. It is certainly not at the bottom of the list.
Back in those days there were so much innovation between different games comming out. Gaming was still a niche, and the games were made with heart, and not benchmarked for optimal profit.

Funny thing is my first call of duty was the original 2003 cod, found its disc on my brother's stuff and installed it, to me it was awesome, one of the first FPS I've played.

My first CoD was number 1. And why? There used to be a youth centre in my village, when I was a kid. And when I went there, I played CoD 1 there for the first time. And we ended up doing lan parties and tournaments at the youth centre. Such a good time. We also played alot of unreal tournament
mw3 is my top 5... it was the first cod i played and oh boy the campaign with the story, the ending, emotion... it was my personal fav campaign

WW2 was the game that got me into cod. While it was rough at first it became a pretty good game with later updates and had some of the best customization in the franchise. I do agree with you about the campaign though.
I am quite happy that I got to play call of duty 3 on my ps2, sure the graphics weren't the best and the frames aswell but then again it was released in 2006 but for the time I loved the characters, weapons and the missions for the campaign
Black ops 3 campaign was strange and confusing honestly. Maybe its because i didnt play Black ops 2 to understand what was going on but nothing really made sense. Perhaps i should replay it agian. But BO3 was the first COD i bought. memorable moments were made from trying to find easter eggs in zombies and goofing around with boxing gloves
Well black ops 3’s campaign did not continue the story after bo1/2’s so even if you did play bo2 the bo3 campaign still wouldn’t make sense

I have only played cod 4 mw only. I played it on my dead beat laptop. Graphic settings was 480p lowest and i still remember loving that graphics. And the campaign man its top of the line. If you are new cod try this. This is peak. Now im gonna play it on my new pc with higher graphics 😂

My first/favorite call of duty has to be “call of duty modern warfare 2 (2009)” the campaign, was so engaging with an amazing story, and the multiplayer was so engaging and addictive, I put so many hours into the multiplayer and the campaign. It’s ridiculous.
I remember when zombies barely came out. Everybody was playing call of duty zombies but now it’s like wow another call of duty zombies. Let’s hope it’s not as bad as last year.
as someone whos first game was Cold War, as im branching out to the other ones I can see why i could be considered "Mid" but it was still a really fun experience and is worth it if you're looking for another CoD to play

WW2 & Bo4 were the best modern cods, its sad everyone didn’t give them a chance because they lacked content at the start, but around February onward they were the best by far

3's campaign tried so hard to be deep but the "twist" had literally no implications and was just made to force you to watch explanation/theory videos, thus artificially generating buzz about the game.
nah my friend, the campaign of CoD 5 was super cool. I loved how you had these two different settings in one campaign, in one you fought the japanese in the pacific, who employed guerilla like tactics and charged at you with their bayonetts and in the other, you played as a russian soldier, who fought against the nazis, while pushing onwards to berlin. This is were you met Viktor Reznov first and man did I love that guy, even as a little kid. The russian part of the campaign was at parts heavily inspired by the movie "Enemy at the Gates", which I always thought they translated very well into actual gameplay. I also liked how you could sometimes make little choices (like simply shooting or burning down the few nazis, who just escaped the subway system with flamethrowers), which didn't affect anything but they made you make moral choices. Everyone hates Nazis, they were war criminals and worse but do you want to cause them unneccessary suffering just because they were born in the wrong country and repay their war crimes with more war crimes, when you could just shoot them? Especially towards the end of the war, where everyone and their grandma was conscripted or to face execution if they refused. There is a good chance, that the men I ordered to be burned to death weren't actually Nazis and hated Hitler just as much as anyone else and just made the "mistake" of hoping to survive the war, instead of getting executed immediately. But they were wearing the uniforms of Nazi Germany, so you only see them as a uniform with a gun and not as humans. Do you see what I mean? (Disclaimer: I'm not trying to perpetuate the myth of a "peaceful Wehrmacht", where no or little soldiers were Nazis and war criminals. This was obviously not the case. There surely were soldiers in the Wehrmacht, who didn't hold the same ideology, maybe even dispised it and this phenomenon definetely did increase towards the end of the war but they were an absolute minority. I'm just trying to ask the moral question of whether it's okay to cause people, who hold dangerous and despicable ideologies, unneccessary pain and suffering when a way less painful and quicker method does the same job at eradicating their dangerous and evil ideology. I'm not trying to defend the Wehrmacht, Nazis and the (war) crimes they committed)
I also quite liked how in some instances Reznov would explain or imagine how certain places were like before the war. It is his home country after all, maybe his home city and having to live through this being taken over and/or destroyed by an invading military force is a terrible thing. It made me think about the extreme contrast of these places at peace and at war times and it was quite effective at showing me, that even a badass like Viktor Reznov wishes for peaceful times and that the destruction of his home is always on his mind and heavily affects him. Stories told from the american side simply can't give you that, as they usually are the invaders (even if they didn't start the whole thing in this case). However they can tell you stories about being stuck in a foreign country, having to fight a war far from home. If you were to die, most people would probably wish to die at home and not in some swamp, halfway across the world. Altough they could've capitalized way more from that sentiment. The american side of the campaign always felt a bit bland to me story wise. Spoiler: I even didn't really care when either your CO or the youngest in the group die, because I felt like, I had barely known them. Sure I fought alongside them for like half of the campaign but I didn't actually know anything about them, I didn't know how theyy ticked and thus I didn't care.
In the american campaign I thought it was cool though, how the japanese would sometimes hide up in the trees, came charging at you with their bayonnets from the bushes, while wearing a makeshift ghille or how they popped up out of the ground through a hatch in that one mission, that had this really dense field of grass and then they would throw grenades at you (or simply shoot at you).
The russian campaign also had a couple of cool moments like this. For example right at the beginning, where you meet Reznov in the well and have to mask your shots with the explosions in the distance, so that the Nazis couldn't hear you (which they directly stole from the movie lol. nonetheless cool) or when you had to battle this sniper in the department store, which was also heavily inspired by the movie (that fight is the hardest shit on higher difficulties, that fucker has aimbot and kills you in one shot, while you have to hit him 3 times). He can also deploy decoys (which look like a helmet with scope glint) and if you shoot at them, that will prompt him to immediately shoot back at you and kill you.
Also there's this mission called Black Cats, which is by far my favourite mission in all of the campaigns, purely because of the soundtrack. You don't actually do anything that interesting, you're a gunner in a plane and shoot down at battleships and smaller boats, you then have to fend of Zeros, before being hit and landing in the water. From there you have to pull as many survivors as you can onto your plane, while also fending off a couple of boats and it ends with shooting down Zeros again. But that soundtrack goes so fucking hard, it literally fits PERFECTLY to every single thing you, throughout the entirety of the mission. It sounds like someone recorded the war and made music out of it and it's so fucking good. Do yourself a favour and play this mission or at least watch it on TH-cam with headphones on and the volume cranked up. I regularly revisit that mission and it's always a blast.
The only thing, that only ever bothered me was the grenade spam, especially in the tight trenches of the american campaign. In lower and medium difficulties it's managable. Slightly annoying but it's okay. But in higher difficulties it's absolutely ridiculous. I'm talking about ten different grenade icons showing up on your screen at once and it never fucking stops. Even a nuke would be scared of that many grenades, it's fucking stupid. But besides that, it's really fun. At some points the game will also spawn an infinite amount of enemies, which only stops when you have pushed up to a certain point. This in combination with the grenade spam and the accurate AI has given this campaign the reputation of being the hardest CoD campaign of them all, especially at the highest difficulty.
If you can get the game for cheap, definetely buy it, if only for the Black Cats mission. Multiplayer is even still active to this day and you can quite easily find games (at least on PC).

It was one of the first free to play cod game ever, and it's literally available on mobile. This game has no campaign but has many iconic maps from different cod games added, there are so many guns taken from so many of the cod games, it's amazing.

My first COD was BO2, but ghosts, Advanced Warfare, and Infinite Warfare are embedded in my memory forever for being some of my personal favorites.

About infinite warfare and advanced warfare, For AW, It's the campaign and zombies, For IW, it's Everything about it, the campaign, multiplayer and zombies were top tier. At the time of release, the game was hated because of another futuristic title in the franchise, truly one of the most underrated COD game.

I think that the campaign and zombies is really well done because I actually hate futuristic settings and prefer world war 2 but I enjoyed the campaign so much that I played it again on veteran, coolest part is optional missions and all these interesting grenades.
