      I just passed my exam yesterday. I used correct tec for 2 hours a day for two months before my exam. I repeated every exercise until I passed it with at least a 90%. If I didn’t understand a question I would look it up. I would recommend Clover(Rad Tech Bootcamp). I thought the questions on the registry were similarly worded to the questions on there. I think I would’ve score better if I used clover more. Two people in my class failed but one just retook it and passed. 😊 she used correct tec and clover to study for her second attempt.

    Is ARRT registery only for Radiographer tech?
    What about Radiotherpists or Radiation Therapist?

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many techs that go into radiation therapy start out by going through the X-ray program because instead of 4 years of schooling they can do 2 years for X-ray then an additional one year for therapy. If they choose not to I am unsure of their requirements but I assume they have a state licensure exam to complete that is equivalent.

    Currently in the military, by any chance, is there an accredited online program in preparation for the ARRT?

    • @SydneyPipp
      @SydneyPipp  ปีที่แล้ว

      What is your AFSC (or equivalent) in the military? To my knowledge there is not an online option to attend class in order to fulfill requirements to take the ARRT. There are many specific exam requirements you have to meet during clinical hours to qualify you to take the registry. If you’re looking to work towards this career as an enlisted military personnel then I would recommend knocking out some prerequisites and saving your GI bill to live off of while in school when your enlistment is over.

      Memorize the protocols for your hospital as quickly as you can once you start clinical. Ask questions and if you don’t get a solid answer write it down so that you can look it up yourself. You’re taught the basics in school but showing that you’re comfortable interacting with patients is at times equally as valuable when hospitals are looking to hire their students.

      Focus on understanding the concept. Take the topic that you are struggling with and try to compare it to something in your everyday life so that it is easier for you to remember when it is test time. I posted a video on AEC last week that gives two examples on how I take radiology concepts and reimagine them (AEC and attenuation). If you are struggling with doing this on your own then an instructor should be able to explain a topic in a way that you can fully comprehend. Did your program in radiologic technology include a clinical portion where you obtained competencies for exams? If so, I believe you can sit for your ARRT registry but I would double check with your program directly. The term technologist implies specialized training to perform more complex tasks so since we obtain a college degree to perform X-ray examinations we are X-ray technologists, not technicians.

The following is copied from the ARRT website: “Our exam scoring scale ranges from 1 to 99, and you’ll need a total score of 75 to pass the exam. This isn’t a percentage; the number of correct answers necessary to obtain a scaled score of 75 may vary. For example, on some exam versions, you might need to correctly answer 131 of 200 questions to receive a scaled score of 75. On more “difficult” exam versions, you might need only to answer 130 of 200 questions correctly to receive a 75 scaled score.”

      There are 21 questions regarding radiation physics and radiobiology. The exams questions are random so the likelihood of having all of the physics questions consecutively is low. I can’t comment on the specific questions that are asked but your program should be able to help guide you in the right direction on what equations and content you need to know.
