- How To Play The Drum Fill From “Two Princes” by Spin Doctors
This is the intro fill right at the start of the song.
Been asked about this a lot and loved this band when I was a kid :)
Great transcription (of the whole tune) here, always brilliant transcriptions by The Drum Ninja: thedrumninja.com/downloads/two...
Have fun and please let me know if any questions,
Mike :)

Have fun and thanks so much for watching.

This is easily the best breakdown of that intro. I’ve been trying to work it out by ear since the 90s lol😂
Great breakdown. This was one of the first songs that made me think "I want to play the drums" as a kid, it's just so funky. Plus the sound of the snare on the recording is incredible.
I love you bcoz you teach with sincerity so, we can learn fast
Had that pocketful of cryptonite album on repeat for ages - thanks again, you are always my choice of drummers to check when learning a new song for a dep gig - coffee coming up
Cheers Chris!
I’ve always wondered about that! It was easier than I thought. Very cool, Mike! Thanks👍
I just come back to the old ones because I'm that one-in-a-thousand that loves the old rd hydros. As I slowly recover the use of my left hand, I have decided to re-head my old Pearl ELX 7-piece with red hydros. It's emerald mist, so it should make a few eyes bleed, but what the hey. It's my 60th birthday gift to myself. When my wife asks, I'll just say it's more physical therapy. Thanks, Mike.
Good man Steve!
Great lesson!
Thanks man, glad if it was useful!
Not a fan of the band at all but love your breakdowns, really appreciate you sharing this. 😁👊
Good job bro
Cheers man!
Never before innnn your life

Mike I'm going to start grade 5 so my question is that do I need double pedal for my bass drum and if yes, can I get some advice on which double bass drum pedals to buy. As always love ur videos.
Hey man, do you need one? No, not for grades. Optional for use in the fill/solo sections where you're creating your own parts or improvising. I've pretty much always used a Tama Iron Cobra, amazing pedal and has never once let me down in many many years!
Thanks man

Only 4 beats on the kick. Or did I miss one? Great breakdown.
