    Thailand’s two major opposition parties were expected to form a coalition after national election results left them in a neck-and-neck race. On May 15, 2023, the Election Commission forecast the progressive Move Forward Party (MFP) would win 151 out of a total of 400 constituency seats, just ahead of the populist Pheu Thai party which earned 141 seats. A coalition would end a decade of rule by the nation’s military-backed government, but decisions about who will head the next government are not expected until July.

      don't wanna to disappoint Thai people, but this opposition party has no idea of running a country instead of grabing more interest for the big corps behind it, check the leaders' families of these two winning parties, they are not called progressive for people, they should called power from heritage. MFP's previous position is FFP, a party has strong connection with the colour revolution, represent western capital's interest. Here is my prediction for upcoming year, 1. Western media will have a widely coverage of this what they called "victory", Thai people should think about it, why. 2. there will be new Policies or speechs pushed out aginst china influence, relations will be shifted from current positive to negative. 3. Thai Economic will not become any better but keep worse.

    Winning an election in Thailand by no means guarantees the right to form a government. The Thai Army controls and appoints 1/3 of all seats in parliament. That 1/3 cannot be voted out. This gives the army a lot of completely un-earned political power and they can relatively easily form a government with only their own 1/3 + just 25% of the votes cast. So that basically means that the army only needs 25% to win, while civilian society needs 75% to win. It's completely unfair!

    • @aburn9891
      @aburn9891 ปีที่แล้ว

      However, this election has been a complete landslide for the opposition parties, of the 250 senates, only 70 or so need to abstain or vote for the opposition parties. Although it is theoretically possible, the likelihood is more unlikely than ever and there are millions of watchful eye ssafeguarding every move. The upper house of 250 senates is completely ridiculous and the votes of the people have demonstrated change is greatly demanded, in the likelihood the minority party is elected, I expect millions on the street protesting.

      Idiots who decry 'western democracy' seem to have no problem with other western political ideas like Marxism, socialism or communism. Even 'political parties' is an entirely western concept that didn't exist anywhere else in the world, but is imported whole cloth from the west. You will see that coup again. Its simple. Democracy without power to uphold the rule of law is unsustainable. The government needs control of the military to be called a government. Its a huge mistake of parties/government to focus fully on civilian affairs and not have some stake or insider from the military. This alienation of the military faction is going to push them towards the Royals for legitimacy of governance.
