- So the FJ1200 had to go. I've moved on to something better thanks to "Two Guys in Georgia". They are awesome guys that supply "transplant kits" for your project, they can get a hold of whatever engine you are considering using in your build at very awesome prices. Get a hold of them through the KJ Raycing VF-1 and VF-2 Kart Builders group on Facebook ( / 416333166372875 .
The Hayabusa engine looks good in the two seater for sure, and since the VF-1 and VF-2 have similar architecture, this shows a "busa" engine will fit in the single seater if you are out of your mind... I saw your early vids and plans a while back, end of 2023 I came across new videos and saw you dropped a 2 seater and xl version along with new axle. I bought the Vf-2 &axle plans, 2 weeks later ordered a bender. Can't wait! I wish I could grab a busa power plant, but mine will more then likely be a mild family fun kart. I'm excited to see you enjoy a hi powered kart!

I bought a tumberlin wtih the intent to build it for my kids. I wanted to try to put a 600 engine in it. Id have to do a lot of work but i think it would work. With that being said. Watching your videos is pushing me to get this project started. You do and amazing job. Yours look very professional.

@KJRaycing If there was a way to test.. maybe get some phone apps that do gps tracking.. I really wanna know my 0-60mph.. I know it takes less than a block.. 😬 These things are awesome. Cant wait to get mine powdered.

I really would like to see the two seat finished. I love all the carts. But the KTM is awesome.

I've been in process of getting the things I need in order to start doing my own custom work but its been time consuming only being able to do little things here and there unfortunately but I will get there asap🤞🙏
Time and money are definitely the hardest parts. I put a lot of thought and planning into everything I do to make the most out of both of those things. The two seater is coming out absolutely awesome and I’m glad to get an engine in there it deserves. I wish you the best man!

I would like to see the busa finished and running that more my type off driving pedal to the metal and all logic out of the window when it come to bughies and fun
My goal is to have the two seater completely finished and painted for mini mayhem in October. With the motivation of a hayabusa it should he doable. Thank you for the comment!
Busa motors, and R1's and Ninja zx-14R (insane) any is great and even better when paired with a Sedev sequential.

That is a definite goal. Bigger motor and more power means bigger modes. I want to make Safari mode for the two seater absolutely bananas!
Love the builds! Would like to see a trail ride video, so we can see one of these in action in real trail riding situations. Also would be willing to help make that video with you, would be so much fun!
As soon as the snow melts we’ll get some good rides in. Hard to film a good trail ride but I’ll do my best!
Hi your builds are the best you have worked very hard on your buggies I like them I still hope some day you try a build with 4wd keep doing what you do you are the best on info on them very cool.

Nice engine choice, that thing will fly! And i would say my favourite build is the budget kart because of the simplicity, but every single one them it’s just a different experience
The budget kart is becoming the go to for a quick rip. The simplicity makes it incredibly fun. Makes me want to see how far I can go with it for power and capability. What I have learned is that you really can’t go wrong no matter what engine you choose. Thank you for the comment!

I would love to see a long travel trailing arm version of this car! On the Busa mounting if you haven't already check out King Sand cars as well as Tom Pro both have well proven mounting of Busa power plants!
Well with different shocks this would be a pretty long travel kart. I set mine up for two modes typically. On this one I’m aiming for street and desert modes.
I got a Honda Shadow 600 V-Twin engine in my woods buggy and damn is it amazing! VERY HAPPY with that engine choice.
That’s awesome, I’d love to drive a V-twin buggy, it has to be a completely different experience.
@@KJRaycing It's awesome man! makes hill climbing and off camber trails so fun to have all that low to mid end torque! 40 FT lbs of torque @3500 RPM's and it revs to 8K. And that V Twin exhaust sound ha ha love it!

I’m gonna be building a go kart with an xv920 vtwin off an 83 Yamaha but gonna have to convert it to shaft drive somehow.

I bought a donor quad with that setup a few months ago and I’m in the planning phase for it. If I only had 40 hours a week to work on this stuff instead of it being my hobby…

A mini cross kart would be sick. And you should do a stage 4 build on the predator 420. Or a drag build.
I struggle with the stage 4 stuff on preds because I would just buy an atv engine for probably a lower price tag. I definitely have more fun in the planning phase though 🦾

Please figure out how to put an electric starter/flywheel for reverse on the busa kart. The reverse gearboxes are too expensive for a garage build.
Yeah, I will definitely be working on that. I’ve got a few ideas on paper. I can’t wait to try them out.
Any thoughts about a 4X4 cross cart set up ?
If there is a way to have these legally titled as ATV or sideXside, that could open the way to state and federal trails and in some states, a semi street legal status.
That thing will totally scream but I was thinking of putting a Rapter 700 in the one I build aswell. It will still go plenty fast for me riding in the mountains and reverse would be a huge benefit.
My choice is a Raptor 700. I love how the quad motors work in these. Now I’m definitely looking forward to seeing yours!

But I don't remember any videos with the Raptor 700 but I haven't seen all the videos most but not all. Thanks again for sharing your years of work and research!
I haven’t used one yet. But I have used a KTM 525. The 700 is bigger and it’s fuel injected, in my opinion perfect for a two seat crosskart 👍

I'm a new subscriber and I'm scheming on what my engine combo would/will be for my own budget kart version. I'm considering a Honda Rebel 250 parallel twin because the bikes are cheap everywhere and they're bulletproof reliable.
How much power can that reverse gearbox handle?

Second thing, thanks for making this video specifically, I’ve been planning to build one of these and had already planned to put a busa motor in it so this is cool to see!
I take time to design it to be light. The final build is going to weigh what it weighs so I try not to get hung up on it. The single seater weigh in completed at 550-650 lbs. the two seater adds 50 lbs of steel if you do all of the crossmembers and a 15 lb seat. So it’s going to be very light. Can’t wait to see your build 🦾

I know you’ve put some ATV engines in your karts, have you looked into one with a shaft drive rather than chain? I know there’s lots of automatic transmission and automatic clutch ATVs that are shaft rather than chain and feel like it would be a more robust system, especially for off road applications where you don’t want to mess with a clutch or a chain breaking from the torque. Sick builds!
Thanks man! I’m not against doing shafts as far as engine to diff. The problem is finding extended axles so you don’t have a super narrow kart. And from what I’ve seen the more common shaft drive atv’s out there are gas and brake, and I looooove shifting. The aftermarket for clutches, chains and sprockets for atv’s is plenty, so you can definitely make a robust driveline if that is a concern. I haven’t had any issues with the atv engines I’ve used though. Thanks for tuning in 👍

Spool won't fail, more likely the bolts on the half shafts, and even that's doubtful. I've ran a 383cu in sbc (600+ hp) thru less mass then your 1.375" dia spool !

I agree...a 700 raptor 8s a perfect canidate.....good power with reverse in a small package.....I also am building a busa buggy, but mine is my own design....but I've followed you the whole way....as always, nice work and keep it coming....by the way, what year is your engine...mine is 99, one year only

KTM has the Super Duke R 1307cc V-twin makes about 185hp to the ground. , or a Honda RC 51 V-Twin makes about 125 hp. to the ground The V-twins offer a more streamline platform.

Yes, sir! That is the tire size, they are carlisle all terrains. I didn’t have much trouble finding them at all, good luck to you 👍

I have a 2007 1600cc Gold wing engine that I would like to use for a 2-seater. Would that be too much power, or do you think that will work?
Ask the guy currently building one in the group with a goldwing engine 👍. So far his build looks amazing! And as far as too much power, they only go as fast as you push the pedal 😎

The folks like you that don’t want to take the time to learn and can’t make time to build one of these finance something called a side by side 😁. The guys that want to learn fabrication and can make time get full custom machines that they built themselves. I know I may look like a professional fabricator but I am not, this is a hobby. There are guys with zero to extensive experience building these. I wish you the best 👍

The two seater uses the same architecture as the single so anything that fits will fit both of them. Enjoy the build 🦾

All out on a budget 🤓. There is so much room to tinker in the engine compartment I just had to see if a big ‘ol motor would fit.

This question is impossible to answer for your specific build. There are two videos on my channel covering costs of building one. Have a look and I’m sure you will have a good idea for goals and costs.

Also, there is a company that sells a seriously advantageous reversing gearbox that bolts to the Busa engine. Gear reduction so don’t need a huge rear sprocket
That gearbox costs more than my entire budget to build these… they are absolutely amazing, but I’ll always be a budget builder. I have one without reverse and I just drive it like it doesn’t have reverse. It’s really not that big of a deal.

Yes. You will have to do a little math and the cut wrappers for the 1.25 will be off. Maybe print the cut wrapper for the 1.25 at 117%? I would totally do it.
So, let's say someone was to offer to bend, cut and notch your your chassis ' out of mild welded seam tube, DOM or chrome moly for an affordable fee to help out those that don't have the option to purchase all the tools required to get started? Would you or your viewers bite?
Please don’t. This was created for guys that want to build, not for guys looking to make profit from my work. The cost for labor to make a kit is very close to the cost to get the tools. If you want to build one, build one. If you want something already built get your wallet out. I wish you the best.
@KJRaycing I respect your angle, I'm not talking about someone building it for them. Just doing the pipe work, like a welders kit. But, I feel you're leaving so many out in the cold on this. Because, there are so many that don't have the room to do it, that don't know what the heck they would do with all the tools after they built one. I'm a fellow pilot, you look into say a kit plane, 95% of them never get done because of time, skill and knowhow. Some times, that first step scares people so much they can't take it, especially when there's a huge price tag on that uncertainty. I haven't purchased your plans, or have any intent of using your hard work to make a profit. But, kick around the idea, so many people just don't have the ability to build from scratch. All of the priorities in life, maybe enjoying a cross kart with the kids means buying one to some fathers. Even professional drivers pay someone to build their stuff in most cases.

How much does the entire 2 seat cross kart weigh with no engine?
How much do you need it to weigh? I have the chassis at about 170 lbs, all of the add ons make the weight vary wildly.
@@KJRaycing im just trying to see how much it would weigh with an r6 or similar engine. Fully operational without a driver do you know how much yours weighs?
I have not weighed it yet. A very close ballpark guess is 750-900 lbs. The single seaters weigh from 550-650 and the two seater adds a little more tubing and a second seat.
