Seeing Nazaré in a "normal" state is refreshing. We are so used to it with those crazy winter 30 feet swell that I didn't even knew that it had such a great wave for normal people

This is the smoothest and best flown drone operation I’ve ever seen and I’m coming from commercial and film productions so I’ve seen a lot. Well done. What a beautiful way to transition from set to set. Gratulation to this stunning work. The feeling of being in the middle of it is breathtalking.
Yep, I was thinking exactly the same. Superb work and those low flying pauses almost at the same level with the blokes waiting for the waves was really nice touch. I've always sat out the back like that, thinking how unique a moment that is in life and you've gone some way in capturing that in this footage. Exceptionally good video.
Great raw footage, really good. Some people chop videos up and add all sorts of artifacts but the truth is the continuous flow of the ocean is so beautiful! It's got it all already. Thank you 😊
This is probably the best surf film I have ever seen! Combining beautiful conditions, use of a very well handled drone, one long take & some great rides was great. It almost felt like you were there.......

Bodyboarders were the first to ride Nazaré, a long time ago. Search Nazaré Special Edition starting from 2003 and so on. Also check the video "Comportamentos de risco", you won't regret it. I promise.

I'm a surfer but love the occasional body surf also. At the 9:21 mark that is a pretty good slide on his back down the wave. I bet that was a cool feeling.

A Nazaré já era surfada há algum tempo por bodyboarders, depois é que se começou a pensar em surfar ondas maiores quando apareceram os big riders no local.
Very nice conditions ! and filming also ! Do you put any kind of water reppelent on the lens, in case of water drops from the mist ? On my Phantom4 at one point the gimbal began to shake, there was some kind of white cristals (probably salt) in the guimbal motors, I cleaned it and it came back OK, but flying on the sea is hard for the gear... (I live in Guadeloupe, Caribean) some good waves here too !
Thank you! Sounds like you are living in a good place!😎 I don‘t put anything on it to be honest. I clean the drone every day (around the gimbal and taking the propellers off) and with that I haven‘t had any issues. A couple of times the gimbal „collapsed“ while flying but that was mostly after I had been flying it in too heavy, windy conditions for a while.. Overall at the Mavic 3 is super well built for this kind of stuff! With the Phantom I don‘t have any experience, sorry!
@@hertel_pictures Yes I was mostly thinking of your windsurfing vidéos because the drone got almost splashed, I was surprise not to see any drop.. luck ! The M3 is a very nice machine of course, much faster than the phantom, I was amazed by the wind in these vidéos, not sure the P4 would have been able to make it there... Antilles are definetly a good place for sure ! Thanks for the answer and keep doing the good job !
@@yveslecozannet7548 I have gotten the drone splashed lots of times to be honest. What might be interesting is the iQFoil video from Silvaplana where I flew in rain. That was quite mindblowing how clear the vision stayed. Regarding splashes, usually the camera just doesn't get hit by any drops. If you are hit you can see it for a little bit but the vanish really quickly
@@hertel_pictures Watching your incredible videos, it was my first though ! (This guy must have been splashed more than he's willing to say !!!) If you dont get "sticky drop", I guess it's because you're flying quite fast... I also fly FPV and sometimes a single drop may stick on the lens for a loonnng time, even with the high speed... I also got drops on the cameras of stabilized drones, but most of the time when the rains start, I land the drone, while in FPV I may keep on flying, depending on the type of rain... (in the Caribean we may get very strong rains !) Back on the Mavick 3 I think Hasselblad did put some kind of water-repellent film on this camera cause I've seen a vidéo from someone else, with the drone going trought the edge of a waterfall, without any drop on the lens, wich surprised me too.... A friend told me about a water-repellent spray, special for lenses, hence my initial question. Or maybe this comes from the quite bulky shape of the camera wich produce somekind of aerodynamic pressure in front of it ? Aside of the ruined image, a splash is mostly a problem because this salted humidity may get inside the drone and lead to a fail/crash sooner or later. (a lost drone in your case, i'm afraid...) Recently I had an issue with humidity with a brand new drone that just stayed one year and half in it's case and got sensor problems... And as I told you my Phantom4, wich flew a lot over the sea had salt or white oxydation in the gimbal motors, wich are quite exposed. Now I spray professionnal WD40 (the green can) in these places once in a while... This thing helps !
WOW! The clips usually show a gigantic mush-burger, not worth the effort, unless you're an ego-driven fool. This is far more challenging, and so much better.
Still so much moving water. And that inside section a bit heavy. But we’re getting a little closer to the realm of doable. And by doable I mean I’d still wanna JetSki patrol from my ass.
