Fuel consumption sucks for an 2.0 diesel.
Honestly I'm really disappointed by this car and I'm driving Opel for 15 years now.
The Vectra was superior in many points but most with the engines he had.

Why? There is no reason. Result will be the same. In summer consumption was basically the same.
BTW my current average consumption is 10,1 L/100km :o

Are you satisfied with the car in general? Why did you rather buy insignia than passat or superb? I'm also buying a new car and I can't which of the three would be the best buy.

Yes, I am. I also know your dilemma. For me was little easier because I don’t like VW Group especially their interiors. But, I tried them too! As well as Giullia, A4 and Mondeo. In general I focused on 4x4 diesel cars over 200hp at reasonable price. List wasn’t long, I compared performance and basic price of: Insignia 4x4 210hp & Mondeo only FW 210hp both cost 38 500€, strong Passat 4x4 with 240hp cost 42 500€ and most beautiful Giullia 4x4 210hp in price 44 500€. A4 price was ridicules for only 190hp similar to BMW and Mercedes. (my friend has 2 years old C-Class and is not worth that price, is much louder and boring inside, I drove this car many times as passenger and driver ... no, thx)
According to above preferences Opel and Alfa remained on battlefield. I was so keen to pick Alfa but it’s relatively small car vs Opel. Alfa is lighter and faster, but I’m not teenager anymore and strange, somehow I wasn't feel safe driving that car. My previous Insignia A offered more armoured and trustful feeling. From other hand at that time this model was not available for test (only 170hp) and there was completely no data about weight (very important after model A), acceleration, etc. And all the time my heart whispered that gorgeous Alfa has "Cuore Sportivo" … oh, oh, oh it was hard. And then came configurator - The common sense - in price of basic Alfa I configured my Opel with all cool gadgets like Navi, LED lights, OPC, BOSE, digital speedometer and so on...

Since you had own Insignia A, did you have any problems with the engine? Audi, Merc and BMW are quite expensive, especially if you want to have all the gadgets. The passat and superb are a little boring on the inside, but folk likes their engines and DSG. On most videos, Opels 8th speed AT is reviewed as slow, compared to DSG. My friends all buy used BMW or Audi, imported from Germany, but I don't like to buy used car with high mileage. what about interior materials, is there a lot of hard plastics?

I already describe that under (0-100km/h video) that only one issue I had with A came from bad service. Besides that, after 3 years nothing happens just brakes, oil, filters, wipers … routine stuff.
B has one thing. Range of windscreen washer cover ONLY 1/4 of the window!!! Lack of touchpad and only one USB audio port is bit dissapointing, but from other hand navigation and FM Radio works much better than A model.
Interior has WOW effect same as Giullia BTW :) Opel used good quality plastic parts. Because of OPC version black colour dominate, some parts look like made of piano black which is nice.
Gearbox & engine are ok for me. But yu know always could be better … V10 BiTurbo owners dreams about W12 BiTurbo :)

I am now also in the dilemma. Currently driving a 240hp Passat 4x4 dsg and looking for one of the three cars. Really interested in a gsi Sports Tourer with your engine but the fuel consumption is about 1L above the Passat I am currently driving. Hmm... 30hp less and 1L more? what is your average after those 3 months?

      Hi KG,
After 7 months and over 45 000km the average consumption is 9,9L/100km at average speed is 70km/h. In 70% car is used on highways rather at the highest speed when it’s possible. Also few times I was trailering a boat … at a lower speed of course ;)
In city consumption is higher, similar to this one from video.
I just back from vacation now - 1800km, 4 persons, full trunk at mix of narrow mountain roads and highways … thanks to speed control (the Wife) average consumption was 8,3L/100km, there was a moment when we dropped to 7,8L/100km. As always it's depends on driver and his driving style. If you want to save fuel don’t put the pedal to the metal.
The AdBlue is another story which I need to watch. Once on the highway the computer informed me that range is low, about 1000km. I refilled 3 litters at range 700km. Then I back home (900km), next day morning car displayed information that range is 1000km again!!!???
I have to admit I was speeding like hell but 3 litters it’s a lot… then I refilled 15 litters unfortunately I don’t remember the mileage but after 2-3 months the indicator turns on again when I start the engine.
Its my first car with AdBlue and I have no experience, maybe someone else can say how it should work?

Ich glaube nicht das es so der Realität entspricht... Da wäre mein Biturbo Vorgänger ja teilweise um 2 Liter Sparsammer bzw. ist dieser Motor hier auch noch nicht eingefahren.

Sorry that I answer in English but I’m not fluent in German.
Above tset was made in winter time when North experienced with extremely low temperatures this year what for sure effect in fuel consumption as well as low mileage of that particular car. Maybe I should consider to make a new test?
Nevertheless, now with 5k more on the clock with outside temperature 10-15oC I can tell you that I drop to 8,4L/100km on the same road with the same”way” of driving … 😊 at Extra Urban drive which takes 9.0 L/100km in the winter with -6oC outside.
BTW. Im really couries about fuel consumption of the petrol w. 260hp so if any one would like to share please do.
