Can we all agree that 'modern' new car design peaked between 2010 and 2020, when there was enough tech to keep people happy but cars had smaller screens, physical buttons for AC and infotainment and the prices hadn't quite reached the level of insanity they have now. Oh, and brands had a bit more of their own identity. Now it's impossible to decipher between the waves of bland SUVs and crossovers which all look overly aggressive and fussy.

We rented one of these in Germany in June 2024 for two weeks. Lots of tech. Was scared by emergency rear braking as the car thought we were going to hit something and SLAMMED on the brakes. I thought we had hit something, but this was the system. Worked well to save us but scared us silly that first time. Plenty powerful for our needs. Amazing range - we drove throughout Bavaria, Austria and the Czech Republic. For European roads and cities, this was a great sized vehicle for my family. In the USA, I drive an "Aircraft Carrier sized" vehicle. This new Passat wagon served us very well. Adaptive cruise was terrific. Lane keeping assist functioned perfectly. Overall, It was perfect for what we needed. Zero complaints. Recommended!

    2. Instead of being annoyed that the hybrid takes away storage, be thankful VW made it an option to give you more storage on the non-hybrid rather than saving money and making it the same as the hybrid storage for all vehicles like other manufacturers have done.

What are you doing VW? I owned Mk2 and Mk3 Fabias and those were very good cars for the money. The Formentor was a warning sign for sure, but you are continuing down the same road! 9:20 It may not seem as impressive as having an umbrella _hidden inside the door,_ but having one accessible without first opening the door is simply better.
Think about trying to access that umbrella from the driver seat while rain is pouring down. You can't just crack the door ajar and grab it unless you also fully open the window. You have to open the door to the rain, step into the rain, grab the umbrella, close the door, then open the umbrella. You'll be wet before you even touch the umbrella.
If the umbrella is inside, you can start opening it before you open the door, push it up outside as you open the door farther, and have it fully open before you even step out of the car. (This has the added benefit of keeping water off the door switches if there are any.)

the one thing I want VW to bring back is the old table in the seats like in the phaeton. I mean like sure it was a premium feature but just think about the use case in a car like this and how it would set the Passat apart

@@pekiimatvrdi talking practically POV overall - leave the damn umbrella aside - the fact is the Passat will fall short selling even in the German market - as most people wanting an estate/ kombi will chose a diesel engine among other practical features Skoda still offers over like simple/ efficient & safe to use climate control knobs! I like buying cars from manufacturers that listen to people's wants and needs.

I raised 75k and Christina Ann Tucker is to be thanked. I got my self my dream car 🚗 just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York and saw me suffering in dept then told me about her and how to change my life through her. Christina A. Tucker is the kind of person one needs in his or her life! I got a home, a good wife, and a beautiful daughter. Note: this is not a promotion but me trying to make a point that no matter what happens, always have faith and keep living!!!

Matt is starting to unfairly criticize EVs, which is pathetic and biased journalism.
    - He uses the words "super heavy" for EVs. Tesla 3 is lighter or comparable to most performance sedans.
    - He complains that it's too hard to deal with an EV. It's actually much easier than gas cars if you own a home. You drive up and plug it in. No need to waste time going to a gas station and pumping gas, and paying for it.
We are a family with 2 EVs (no gas cars for almost 4 years) and have enjoyed every second of it. No maintenance, no gas, smooth and quiet ride, fantastic acceleration...
EVs are not for everyone, but they are much better than gas cars for a lot of people, so it would be more objective and fair if Matt talked about that, instead of just criticizing EVs. Not a fair or useful journalism.
