- The BYD App has finally landed in Australia!!! I am super excited because this means I can control my car remotely now.
In this video, I am going to have a look at the BYD Atto3 app for the first time and go through the functionality with you.

One of the major things I've been looking forward to was this app. I'm sure they will add in other features and clear up any bugs along the way as this seems to be a very Lite version with limited functionality.
It'd be great if U could access the camera functions from the app. Maybe even a sentry mode would be awesome but won't get my hopes up yet for that feature.

No way you would get sentry mode on BYD cars in Australia, geopolitical reason ofc.
I’ve only just subscribed and stumbled upon the channel. Wife is looking at the ATTO 3 and we are both following along. If you haven’t done so yet, would love to see the Vehicle to Load being used.
Great to finally see this after promising it for the past 2 years. However, the omission of location and the inability of charging controls (remote scheduling, charging start/stop, conditioning) is a major missed opportunity. From what I can see, is that you can control most the low voltage driven components, but not the high voltage ones. It will interesting to see how architected the integration of the Atto3 systems really are. Also the operation code is going to seriously be annoying and it doesn’t seem to have MFA login once you’ve registered the car. So if someone else has your login details, they can download the app, access your car and drive off. Without the ability to track the car.

Q: I've heard if you use the app to lock the car, you can only use the app to unlock. Can you test that for us?
You'll love it! I have heard that too. Spoiler alert you can use the key, app or RFID card to lock and unlock regardless of what you used previously. Myth busted!
Thanks for clarifying the function of the "Windows and Doors" page. As opposed to turning on the air con, I would like to be able to lower the windows on a hot day when returning to the parked vehicle. Maybe BYD can consider this to be included in a future update.
I think it now has close window function in the event that you accidentally left it open...but doesn't have the option to open

Location is most important. Not just for security but for locating the car on a big parking lot.

Ed, do you know if you can have multiple accounts control the same car, or if the same account can be logged into on two phones?
You can only stay logged in on one phone at a time
Can I install this BYD app on two different number mobiles for same car?
Looking to purchase our BYD soon but am still going through the approval stage from our Strata to add a charging point in our undercover car space. Wondering if the APP has a part that shows you the amount of kWh each time you charge or on a weekly or monthly base?
Not at the moment... unfortunately it doesn't have charging history.
Can you do a night drive test for the lighting quality? Like drive out the country off road!

Works with atto3 without NFC? I am asking cause in Mexico BYD is just selling a version without NFC, but they have remote start with the smart key.
Not sure about Mexico...every country is different. It's best to check with your local dealership

Do you know if you can access the app from two phones at once, so myself and my partner can both have the app? I know with the MG app for example, If I was logged in my partner would have to login each time she wanted to use it, and then vice versa, when I then wanted to use it I would have to login again, not very user friendly

when you use the App to pre heat or pre cool the car with the AC in winter/summer, can it stay unlocked while doing? Can i use these features and turn on the car, while it stays locked? I'm working in a big city, so that's necessary :'D
Yes, the car remains unlocked if you use the climate control via the app
I can see in your app you can change from type pressure to show kpa, bar or psi but in my version it does not have that version and I am using an Andriod phone (Samsung)
They have updated the app. I have lost that function as well

Look how excited you are haha. These features have been available on the Tesla app for quite some time. I’m genuinely glad to see them make their way to other manufacturers apps. It will only increase the adoption of electric vehicles

Do you think you could do a range test ? Could you please drive normal and test the range, then put 19-20" mags on and do a second range test. I'd be interested in to know the difference. Maybe talk with a tire place and see if they will sponsor a video for you ? i know it won't happen, but i thought I would request anyways
I am actually working on a range test video but it's taking a while for me to drain the battery. Hopefully I'll have that ready soon

I love mine. It's not quite white, it's more a pearl silver. This is one of those colours you need to pay extra for with other manufacturers
How does it work? The car doesn't have sim card installed... And I don't mean from 10meters but from a far it works.
They do have SIM cards, every month the car gets 2GB

this version of the app is much watered down from byd's domestic version of the app.
What's the domestic version like?
@@juicdgarage the domestic version has more function. on controls, i see your version is missing the remote control (moving the car while outside it), ota, theme management, nfc key management, dpilot training info, etc. it also lacks the service center (schedule maintainance or repair with a couple of clicks), online store (buy accesories), and community center (for byd users to comment, post questions, upload contents, etc). some of these functions may be moot for where you are but some are useful. I use the app a lot and never carry a key fob or a nfc key card any more. the app can do it all.
@@qilu2004 Woahh that's awesome! I could definitely do with moving the car from the outside! Hopefully they will slowly come through as software updates. Maybe some of these functions are limited due to the legality or regulations in Australia...
@@juicdgarage yeah, that trick comes handy in tight parking space, or when you want to attract attention. it is like a full size RC toy car.
@@juicdgarage - hopefully it's legal as Teslas here are able to move while you're not in the car.
Probably won't work in an underground car park or in the sticks where there is poor phone reception, better keep a backup with you or you will be stranded.
I won't be downloading the BYD app, I already have my Zappi app, and the remote button for the Atto 3 can lower and close all windows and turn the air-conditioning on, too.
I think the huge plus for me is to be able to pre set the climate control when I am out of the key range. Good point, I'll need to put the reception to the test
Can't use the key to turn on the A/C from inside the restaurant.
