I've been stuck there bad, but not as bad as this. On an early 90's day with no jetskis and no flotation. But with a tiny towboard? Nightmare. I probably wouldn't have pulled it. He's hard as nails, this kid.
That was for me heart in mouth pretty much for most of the vid... HUGE respect to those chargers! Would really love to tow into a nice right hander, leave those heavy lefts to the younger crew!
Unmanned rescue drones. One in the water with a tow rope like Flipper the dolphin. Another in the air powerful enough to lift a surfer up and to safety. Could call it Mr Wizard. Oh No Mr. Wizard I don't want to be a big wave surfer. Tweedle Dee and tweedle Dum,time for this one to come home. Transponders could allow the drones to track surfers when they are underwater and be on the spot quicker. Multiple rescues can be coordinated from the channel or cliffs. Less risk for the jet skis as the drones hand off the surfers to the tow sleds outside of the impact zone. Drones can also keep a lookout for sharks. Then they can bring out drinks,snacks and sunscreen to the less intense surf spots. Finally ditch the tow ski and have your own personal robot pet dolphin that tows you out,holds supplies and follows you around like a shark bodyguard.
