- Hello friends! Today I'm sharing the new set of watercolor pencils from Caran d'Ache. This is a Special Edition set with 18 Exclusive colors. We will be swatching, mixing, comparing and I will share some artwork at the end of the video.

Supracolor 2 just one of my favorite pencils. This set looks lovely.

Your art is so beautiful. That butterfly is gorgeous. Before my mom passed away she said "whenever you see a butterfly think of me." It's been 3 years since she accidentally fell one morning & never woke up again. Call your mom and tell her you Love her if you can TODAY. She was the most beautiful, loving and caring mother. 🦋🦋🦋😇🫶🌤🐰🌼

9:35 Mixing buff titanium with the other colours creates some lovely pastel mixes. Either mix on a plastic palette (like the Cran d'Ache) or on the paper. This adds more versatility to an already amazing set. Thanks for the swatching and commentary.

@@TheGypsyChic1 I could see using the 18 set as a travel set, to put in a tote for a quick outing, or to sketch with them and apply water later even. Your review impressed me so much that I went to Dick Blick's site yesterday and ordered them and a pad of Fabriano Hot Pressed paper too. Hi, Maria! Thank you! I think you will love the Swiss colors. I remember being pleasantly surprised by them, when I found them in a Black Friday sale. I need to try them again. Thanks so much! I've shared some videos, but I don't think TH-cam "shows" my videos, unless they are a haul ;( . I think maybe since I can't post that often, between work, kids family etc. Lots of people have been welcoming me back, which always makes my day and helps make me want to share more! 💗
The colors are matching up to the Luminence colors.
Yes, I was happy to see that too. I only showed a few that matched up to Luminance and Museum Aquarelle.

Hi! Thanks for this quick review. These new colours are muted and harmonious. Hopefully they will join the standard roster of Supracolor. I ❤ Caran d'Ache pencils, and these are affordable while keeping an excellent quality. Thanks for the tip about the podcast. It was so interesting to listen to Eric Vitus, CDA's creative director, to learn more about the company, the pigments and the pigments.

Your ink and wash bunny rabbit is so cute! I’m currently painting townhouses in ink and wash. I wish I had considered ink and wash sooner. Ink and wash fulfills my need for detail in my paintings but without the stress of trying create details with watercolor alone. The new Supracolors are something I would definitely consider purchasing if the price drops. 😂
Thanks so much, Shadow! I made a few quick sketches last year that I figured I should finally watercolor. I love drawing with a fountain pen, but I can't find the perfect pen to keep inked up. It seems to clog most pens fairly easy. I think you are right about taking the stress out of the details! I love it for painting buildings, etc too. I wish you were on IG so I could see your townhouses, I'm sure they are lovely! For me, it also helps me get over my perfectionism, as I can't erase it. ;D I purchased my set with gift cards on Amazon Germany...so I paid extra for shipping sadly. I should of been more patient and got them from Blick! Lol. 💗
@@TheGypsyChic1 I’m not a fountain pen person. Fountain pens remind me of school! One school I went to we had to write with fountain pen. I’m using waterproof fiber tip pens for my ink and wash painting. After a couple of glitches on my temporary watercolor no buy I’m currently being very good! I’m patient. I’ll wait for a price drop on the Supracolors and then consider it. If Blick runs out of stock I’m fine with it. Anyway, I’ve been buying handbags instead!!!! 😆🤣
You are so lucky!! So I guess you didn't enjoy school? If I found a waterproof fiber tip pen that was refillable, I would probably try it. I've reached my limit on fountain pens. I rarely even see one that tempts me now, but I still enjoy the ones I have. I'm curating my collection down to my favorites now. I'm sure one day I will do that with art supplies, lol! You are smart to wait! A viewer mentioned on the Caran d'Ache website states in German that these colors will extend the range. So, you will eventually will be able to buy them open stock.

@@TheGypsyChic1 fountain pens remind me of school hence I don’t feel like using one anymore 😆! I was a handbag collector, then I stopped. Fast forward to 2019/2020 I became an adult coloring book coloring pencil nerd, then a card maker, now an amateur watercolor artist. Now I’ve come full circle to being a handbag collector again! I recently thought I have enough art supplies and I’m not sure if I’ll ever finish anything. The current price of luxury designer bags is astronomical. Decades ago I could have purchased Chanel handbags etc, but now, there is no way I’ll ever buy a brand new Chanel classic flap for $10K!!!!!! I do have some designer bags, but currently I’m not buying any more. A few years ago I bought a Coach tote bag. It’s too big for my current needs, so now I look for smaller crossbody bags. I’m comfortable with the prices of Coach, particularly Coach outlet. I should have bought from Coach outlet sooner. I’ve read comments that the quality isn’t as good as Coach boutique, but one comment on a YT video appeared to come from a person in the know: Coach boutique and Coach outlet are made in the same factories generally with the same materials. However, there are some differences mainly hardware, linings in the bags, and brand name placement.
Anyway, I bought a Klare crossbody in black mock crock embossed leather with gold hardware and I bought the medium corner zip wallet in brown and black signature canvas. Looking forward to them arriving. 🤩

I love when you ramble!! That's so funny, and I can relate so much. SAME, except I was a scrapbooker instead of coloring book hobbyist! I've collected luxury purses, too. I started with with Dooney and Burke, thanks to my hubby. Then I purchased a Coach handbag and wallet, retail.
Once I discovered the Coach outlet, I never looked at retail again. I believe that I heard that Coach makes bags for the outlets? The savings was still worth it to me. I wish I would have checked the prices for Chanel and LV back then, as well. Like you said, they were affordable back then! I would never pay over $2K for a handbag. But, I would pay $500 for a beautiful pre-loved bag that sells for $2-3k. Lol. That is what I do love about luxury goods. I have a few from 2009, and they still look nearly brand new.
For a few years my husband loved getting me LV bags and SLG's for gifts.
I loved the planners, as well as the handbags. I also found ways to get them eBay for 75% less than retail. That's the only way I could justify it. Then of course being me... I bought and sold several to use the profits to purchase retail. I could justify it, as that made it "free" in my eyes. ;D
We can't afford those gifts for each other anymore, but he was happy to treat me while we could. I'm currently saving my Nordstrom rewards to try a new brand. We have a Coach outlet nearby, and now I may have to check it out. Your new crossbody and wallet sound amazing!!! Your fall wardrobe must be stunning! I hope you enjoy it immensely! 💗
If you add yellow to the greenish black, you’ll probably get a nice dark green. Those pencils are beautiful when activated with water.

On the Caran d Ache site in german it says that these are an expansion of the supracolor range so one can expect that these will be available open stock too. I bought them from caran d ache directly so they will be waiting for me when I get back home. 😊 Have fun!
