From second hand sources i heard some people were on their fifth piston in just over 1500 rounds. And that is on a gen 2. The bcl has issues but these things are kind of cursed. Maybe you have a good one and you wont have any issues but after the issues me and my friends had i would never buy another kodiak product.
I really would like to try the Siberian, I’ve heard good thing. I’ve heard of some people having issues with the wk-180 both Gen 1 and 2 but I haven’t yet experienced an issue. Regardless it’s a relatively newish firearm and there are bound to be growing pains. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could just take out out ARs. Thanks for watching.
The gen 1 and 2 both have the same overgassing issue. The aftermarket adjustable gas valve helps, but is undersized that gas just blows by when closed and still is overgassed. The best remedies I've found is to either handload lighter rounds (snore), or build your own adjustable valve that fits and actually works as an adjustable valve.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgear that usually comes down to people not making sure their gas keys on the bottom of the barrel are tight, and then the gas block shifts and whack, goes the piston out of alignment, which causes breakage. The passing of bill C-21 will not help us, we are very limited as to what we can have when it comes to 5.56 semi-automatic. There are no perfect Canadian products, reliability depends on how you use and how well you maintain it. Of course there will be some issues but it is what it is😕

@@theguywithbeardgunsandgearthat sucks man I hope things get better for yall as gun owners in canada.
@@darkphantom5638you and me both. I did a gun licensing in Canada idea where I share some general info about how to acquire a firearm.
@@theguywithbeardgunsandgearid also be interested in a video of that nature, like you said limbo, like is the sks banned or not lmao so a video breaking that down would be awesome
@@hollandbozek234in the works, compiling the somewhat confusing data.
I have a siberian and made a couple of videos. Its a much better gun. The gen 1 and gen 2 have the same gas systems. I know people that have broken 3 pistons.
I have a gen 1 and have never had an issue. Clean your rifles and check your screws people!
@@campbell0162 yeah I think people think they’re buying a Canadian AR-15, reliable and torture tested.
These WK’s want love and they’re a bit needy😁
Just weld your own deflector on it.
@@wavular just booger weld an old piece of angle iron. 😁
I think at this point the gen1 is competely irrelevant in our current gun market with the amount of better and nicer rifles available
True there has been a few releases since these firearms. I thought it was good to compare the two generations. Still though shoots straight and cycles well.
Thanks for watching.
valid point. i think the gen 1 still has relevancy because of its low cost for the type of firearm it is
Nah I don't think the gen 1 holds any value at all. Better off spending an extra 500 and getting something much better
They are just so hideous. Like they are affordable but I for some reason can't get by the boxy look the 180's all seem to have. Reliability has gotten better over the years with the release of new models but, they so ugly I don't think I could bring myself to own one. I'd probably go for a type-81 instead. If they hadn't of screwed over ATRS I probably would of purchased one of their rifles.
I think the Gen 2 looks every bit the part. It’s far less blocky IMHO.
Maybe the Gen 3 🤔
WTH is ergodynamics? RE: 1:41 😂😂
Fitted to the body for body mechanics and also streamlined for less friction 🤪
Kodiak wk180c gen 2 is a cheap pos. Don't buy it you'll regret it. Get a different rifle.
While I agree that it is not a perfect firearm, it seems all the AR-18 platforms have one issue or another.
The passing of bill C-21 will not help us, we are very limited as to what we can have when it comes to 5.56 semi-automatic. There are no perfect Canadian products, reliability depends on how you use and how well you maintain it.
Of course there will be some issues but it is what it is😕
Looks like CHC, awesome Club 👍👍
