- Remember - Miitopia is a relatively easy game. All jobs can be good, especially when controller by the player. This was something I decided to do on stream when I saw some ridiculous comments going around like "flower is the best healer", so I decided to look at the jobs statistically.

Remember - Miitopia is a relatively easy game. All jobs can be good, especially when controller by the player. This was something I decided to do on stream when I saw some ridiculous comments going around like "flower is the best healer", so I decided to look at the jobs statistically.

I feel like Miitopia is based on how well you can manage resources and the combination of all four party jobs.
Late game its definitely the safe spot, that makes every boss a cakewalk, and makes the tower of dread not impossible
Dude I had to fight the study boss at dark lords castle and I used the safe spot 10+ times
I can confirm, I beat some of the more difficult bosses mainly because I focused on sprinkles and healing and let the AI do whatever

I wish Miitopia had a Job system like Final Fantasy 5 where it would reward you for changing and leveling different jobs, for example if you learned the fire skill as a Mage, you could still use it even if you switched to a Warrior or something.

I found a use for Thief! You can use the Job to easily level up HP banana and MP candy healing! What? I never said it is a good use for battle.

I think the pure chaos of the AI is part of the game-feel intention, though, along with all the random chance effects.
Phantom Strike, though, is a ridiculous oversight. It just has to be. I can understand the the individual hits being weaker than Whirlwind Blades' hits, but should be more like somewhere around between 0.55 to 0.7 for the MP cost.

@@johnclemens5066 Honestly, while it's fun to put the Thief down, with the way this game's mechanics actually do play out, so long as you pick the right personality, the pure utility of having the highest speed (even if it's only by a little bit) with the all-hit basic attack and the traps probably does make it the most useful player job for the majority of battles (and going first makes it easier to micromanage sprinkles, safe spot, and such). Also, while Pilfer is kinda blah, a lot of the time the low proc chance for AI on abilities can be a good thing when basic attacks are going to come more in handy (though, still not fantastic with some of the things other jobs offer).

You can basically fulfill any role:
-You can protect and heal and restote mp as a support
-You can deal lots of crowd damage and stunlog enemies
@@johnclemens5066 By the way, now that I'm doing the math, the Thief's Rock Rain at max stats actually does more than 1,000 total damage, at base, and scales up number of hits with Lend a Hand to a max possible total of 1,684 damage to all enemies. Other jobs need ability procs to make skills do capped 999 damage, and even then only to a single target.
(Unless I'm missing some quark of the move I forgot. Edit: oh, wait, it's still just a random target hits like the other two multi attacks they have. Welp, that explains why Phantom Strike is only 0.4 multiplayer, since even just 5 hits at 0.6 multiplier is huge damage with only one target. Thief's multi-hits are crazy after actually doing the math instead of just assuming. Supreme boss killer.)
For those of you struggling, Miitopia is a cakewalk if you complete every location on your way to final bosses (every route for every spot). My first play through I never backtracked and that made even the first boss difficult for me to complete without going back and grinding again. So I would definitely recommend making sure those gold flags are all over your maps!

Honestly just keep your team balanced, my first playthrough on the 3ds I only used a specific party and at the end (spoilers ahead) in the final battle with the darker lord I got destroyed because everyone else was like level 10 lol, this time around I kept everyone at the same level and the darker lord was a joke.

@@MononobeNoFuton That's what I did until post game, then I made a dedicated team when I played on switch because it takes... Like sooooo long..... to get to max level with every party member. And it's not even really worth it to do it for everyone when you can only take 4 into most post game events. Let alone buying all of the equipment for all 12? of your party members.
The post game is like 1000000x harder than the rest.I don’t remember my first play trough I only died like 5 times and I just speedrunned the game and it was easy my 4 strongest teammates were like level 23 and my others were like level 18 cuz of the sickness of my teammates.
But in the post game it’s way more.Especially to the dark sun and the red fiend but other then that it’s EZ
Honestly I still wished Miitopia Switch also brought more jobs that'd fill some different niches. Maybe DLC could happen but I'm not betting on it, realy.

cat used to be BROKEN in 3DS version, and it was my favourite job but it wasn’t as fun to play when you could kill the toughest enemies within 1 feline frenzy with a scratch claws before it.
What is scratch claws?

Finally a list that takes objective stats Into account as well as player/AI separated lists
As someone who's 100% this game twice now I'd only swap the ordering a little bit and maybe bump flower up a tier, Cleric is 100% better but being able to give out the anger status PROPERLY is its own DPS buff. It's a niche but I'd say that's enough to distance it from the thief.
Besides the flowers stats aren't abysmally worse than the Cleric

I have plenty of thoughts on the other classes but that'd be nitpicky, good list man :)
Chef is in a weird spot. It gets outclassed in both healing and DPS but it somehow has the highest base defence in the game...
For progressing through the story you don't need any complex strats but say for really hard fights a strat you can implement is to put your healer (or frailest Job) in the safe spot during an enemy turn. Let bulkier classes like the Chef take the hits, especially since Chef can self-sustain at least a little. (Warrior is still a better go-to for defensive play)
If your chef is an AI it's a strong candidate to just leave Hyper sprinkled. Other than healing its skills aren't suited for tougher battles.
And that's about it. Chef is a jack of all trades, master of none kinda deal. Hope my insight helps tho :)
In terms of damage: Warrior. Reliable single target attack with by far the highest raw DPS. Better yet, Warriors don't rely on MP and since it's such a low stat it doesn't cost you many sprinkles to replenish.
For support: Princess. Princess replenishes party MP, while giving the whole party the Gleeful status (+Attack/Defense) AS WELL AS having the chance to inflict Calm status on enemies (-Defence).
Other supportive Horse abilities come from jobs that heavily rely on their MP to function (Cleric/Flower) and you don't often want your whole team hyped at the cost of your Pop Star's MP.
Imo Princess' horse whisperer ability is the most reliable and safe out of the supportive moves. Pop Star is an honourable mention for full offensive teams without a Mage though.
Another question 5 months later man. I don't know if I have to use the mage or the tank. Also is the princess a viable choice in both player and ai?
@@professorshyguy5173 Hard agree on princess. I used it for my no sprinkles run and it was so useful, especially in tower of dread/despair because praised is such a good condition (helps literally all classes) that every time I'd use it that skill along with the distracted one infliced on foes would literally change the entire tide of battle for me. Then I'd just tea time up and use the affection raises to heal my party. It got a huge buff in this game, it was already good though along with cleric and pop star having by far the best horse whispers in the game (it's kind of hard for me to decide between the three, they all can do so much really).
This is a great video! It's actually helped me understand the different classes and how AI behave with them more- I totally agree with you on the Cat end, sometimes I had to waste hyper sprinkles just to get them to stop trying (and failing) to take grub and attack instead
I've returned after having bought this game and I truly think that Princess is super underrated. For starters, Double Royal Wave is a really powerful move against bosses since both waves will always hit the boss when it's the last one on the field. Regal Dance is also incredible at debilitating hoards of enemies or even really powerful enemies, as it has a really high activation chance compared to Pop Star's Earworm. I can't tell you how many times it's saved me from fiends in the past (especially when I ended up having a lot of magic users in the party). Eau de Cologne comes in pretty late game sadly but it's honestly a task that Imp does better than it so that's not saying much. Princess restoring the party's MP, making them have the praised status effect and Eau de Cologne on enemies is pretty great but sometimes underwhelming if you don't take advantage of it in time. Overall I think you put princess in the right spot on the list but it can still be underappreciated sometimes and can also do some serious damage with the right sets.
THIS RIGHT HERE! As soon as I unlocked Princess I always made my mii be one and I never regretted the decision in any manner, although sometimes I found myself wishing I'd done things maybe a turn earlier. The royal wave that hits everything on the field, despite only unlocking when you reach level 30, is also a really good attacking move, but I think maybe this time I'll end up swapping Princess out for Elf
Having the contolled mii spam regal dance is so funny, the enemies just never get a turn
I regal danced my way through The Galados Isle way before I was supposed to do it and it was hilarious how effective it was. Plus, people HEAVILY underestimate the power of Eau De Cologne in boss battles. Getting that dazed condition deals so much overall damage, and while Imp does that better it's a nice boon for it to share. Double Regal Wave is strong in bosses too (I never use Ultimate in boss battles because it's super inefficient MP wise), and Tea Time can work with helping people with affection levels (I used this strat in my no sprinkles run in Tower of Despair). Plus, it's Horse whispering gives it a fairly strong buff as player character in this game. That shit can turn around and win games if timed correctly. Plus you can just get back your own MP with Tea Time. I agree, but some people put Princess super low for little to no reason when it's a great caster class overall.
The comparison to the Tower Of Flame that the Mage carries felt really stupid too, IMO. First of all, Princess is a support with slight damage and CC. Second of all, that scaling is for AOE. You will almost never want to use the final wave against a single target.
Also, let’s not forget that, in single target purposes, Double Royal Wave is a mere 60 damage off of Tower of Flame, and for AoE, then even a second target lets Ultimate Royal Wave deal *221* more damage! Combining that with the fact that Princess has undoubtedly more utility (seriously, semi permanent CC on non bosses, 1.5x damage amp, and 40 mp regen for the princess & her target is no joke), and is about as tanky(besides barrier, which can just be mitigated by an elf tbh)/mp-laden, Princess really feels like a better Mage.

Chef is an incredible Jack of All Trades, especially early game, making it one of my favorite classes other than the likes of Cat, Scientist and Mage. Combined with quite good, static amounts of healing, boosting damage, passively being able to possibly boost HP Banana potency, this all makes this class one that I love using.
Tip section:
Stubborn appears to be one of the best traits to use with it from my experience due to its ability to occasionally block attacks from doing as much damage to increase its already respectable survivability, along with Laid-Back, as it’s ‘Get Serious’ quirk allows it to go beyond the flat healing amount that the Home Cooking ability heals.
I personally love elf it’s so broken
it’s also important to consider the mii personalities and how well it changes things up. Specifically from personal experience, Laid Backs Get serious, Cautious warm up and Energetics Hang On.
If you are the elf, you basically entered super-easy mode. I wanna avoid elf for the most part, but If I have to use it for the new (Spoiler)

@@AoiBlu4 I just kinda play for the experience and fun, yeah those quirks may not be good but for a very first time playthrough, it is fun to try and match the personalities of characters that they would have
@@Its_THE_questionable_person I agree, Miitopia is a fun game that should only be taken lightly, not seriously.
Personally, I like chef as a ai because they have a very powerful heal and group heal as well as a very high defense and hp stat. The biggest problem they have is not having a revive though, which can be a huge problem end game. Also cat is best damage output by far :P

Okay now that my main character isn't a thief in my 2nd play through, yeah it does kind of suck, but the 1st multi hit attack you get is pretty good on single opponents.

I think the main thing that skews how the jobs perform for people in their playthroughs is how well they do or don't end up synergizing with the various personality quarks and such.
I think thief under someone who has experience from the 3ds version is not is easy to master but once you have you can basically just never die because of things like backflip and booby trap

Miitopia can be 100 percented with any combo of 4 jobs, you just have to know what combos work well, like popstar and tank, popstar and chef, flower and everything, etc

Fun fact: sharpen claws stacks with horse whispering, meaning that if you have max attack and sharpen claws, then when they are ready use horse whispering, you can do 6,069 damage. And horse whispering is not affected by the 999 damaged cap.
Curious on your thoughts on the different personalities on different classes, Cool is probably the best one atleast with my experience but I wanna know your thoughts on it too

Vampire best class, I get to control my favorite animals (battos), utilize my favorite traditional elements (ice and poison), and I have spooky undead powers that make me feel like an incarnation of my favorite holiday, Halloween.

@@jojokindred921 Cool just have no downside and a lot of upside. Dodging attack, immunity to status, and extra damage. Everything else you take will have some kind of downside that drag it down compare to cool. But its also no fun playing all cool coz you don't get the interesting interactions.

Dude Pop-Star is OP as fuck. Like, they can increase their friendship level with anyone on the team to highest friendship level in play, They can restore MP,HP, Revive,Attack all enemies at once, Instantly end quarrels and has a shit ton of health, Not to mention “Way out of Tune” which deals HEAPS OF DAMAGE for a low MP cost to make up for their low attack strength . And if controlled by the player , Horse-Whispering that can instantly revive everyone, remove negative status, and give berserk to everyone

When everyone has lvl 99 relationship, love song is absolutely useless...
Attacking all enemies at once and if u ever wanted that u could use vampire.
Hyper sprinkles exist so horse whispering is useless, princesses blind fold also exist and scientists safety mask.
Way and and normal out of tune had the cost to lower all ur teammates hp WHICH IS NEVER GOOD, there’s a lot better damaging moves.
Now heading onto the good traits of popstar,
High hp. That’s literally it.
@@jamesx1771 Well, also that the pop star can heal multiple allies Mp with cheer on. Also encore, which helps a lot If say for example, a cleric needs to heal themselves AND the rest of the party. Pop stars attack is decent when maxed all the way out. While their revive does have lower chance then cleric, it can still revive multiple fallen allies. This has helped me in defeating the tower of despair. Also, when having a stubborn or laid back or kind team mate, the ending quarrels is needed. Also, in a secret level before the dark lord in which you fight rare snurps, earworm does numbers because once you distract enemies for one turn, you can keep using it and keep the enemies stalled for the rest of the battle (While elf can only hit one person not including bosses). Also when using hyper sprinkles with popstar, I've been able to do 999 physical damage before granted I was showing off for an ally who I was at 99 relationship points with.
I dunno, Flower actually has an amazing Horse Whispering too. It makes all allies Gleeful, which is otherwise only available through the Praise passive. Don't get me wrong, it's still subpar otherwise, but their Horse Whispering is great. It's basically Princess' Horse Whispering, but it heals HP instead (and doesn't inflict Calm).
I hope a “Miitopia 2” adjusts jobs so Jobs are equally good…
Listen I just want Flower to be good, okay? Like, a guaranteed revive and a better healing skill for the endgame… Maybe instead of having a higher attack than Magic, it could have a Higher magic… That alone could Improve flower(?)… I would delete Flower power… Then it would have as many Skills as the cleric… Also, maybe the Flower actually has some higher stats than Cleric, not just HP, the rest is so close together it doesn’t really matter.

Cat is definitely one of the better jobs, even with the AI. Yes, it uses steal grub a lot, but when it's not, it does a lot of damage. Hence why my mii with the cat job is a mainstay in my party, or the "A-team," as I call it.
OK BUT WHY DOES THE CHEF IN MY MAIN TEAM DO MONSTER DINNER AND IT ALWAYS WORKS
also im a princess in my main save and i just gonna say -----DOUBLE ROYAL WAVE is the most OVERPOWERED THING EVER. (ESPECIALLY with The GLEE effect and the enemy being Calm, then max damage is almost gauranteed) (for a SINGULAR boss / enemy NOT WITH MULTIPLE)
why? you may ask.
well, with good stats, a team with VERY high relationship levels (everyone to everyone), 3 lend a hands, show off and good stats makes this:
500 - 999 damage per wave, PLUS 200 - 600 PER OTHER TEAMMATE. That equals to around 1600 - 3798 DAMAGE to a SINGULAR ENEMY.
also flower horseplay / horse whispering REVIVES ALL FALLEN TEAMMATES TO FULL HEALTH (i know this since im a flower in my 3rd file)
Looking at all the stats, Vampire is all around fantastic. It lacks in speed and defense but speed doesn’t usually matter and defense allows for more damage back with curse which doesn’t matter being the vampire has pretty much what I think is the highest health
Vampire is like top 5 in defense
(this was uploaded years ago but idc) Silver snurp hunting is really easy with a vampire on your team as you can one shot them 99% of the timme using curse
I'm loving Tank in Miitopia Switch for some reason but I hated it in the 3DS. I know I probably got a Mii with some really good likes/dislikes and a pop star hero, but did the tank AI get improved in this port? I haven't seen Human Cannonball nearly as much.

Best part of the entire stream.
Player Tank in early game is annoying to use with that MP needed to attack, but then in Mid-game (like before the final boss) it basically doesn't really matter and you're just an absolute war machine that destroys everything with Hyper sprinkles, but then in end game it's fine but there are just better jobs at that stage.
And Player imp is probably the easiest job to level up because you can just use shield sprinkles or sit back, and your garbage low-level attacks can be replaced with a Hyper sprinkled Warrior (or Cat but never Tank, because you never want an AI Tank in your team) attack and do insane damage.
+my team is currently
Knives (myself) a cat with the cool personality (my favourite as it has no down side)
Papyrus (skelly boi from undertale) a cleric with the energetic personality
Alphys (dino from undertale) a scientist with the cautious personality
Undyne (fish from undertale) a warrior with the stubborn personality.
these (+vampire) are all my favourite classes, i absolutely love them
I think you might already know this, but just in case you don't. You said you probably can't use forest blessing on yourself, but you can. I do it sometimes, so that makes Elf even better. Good stats, forest aegis, stun lock move, healing, mp restoring, elf has almost everything. It's obvious that Elf is the best.

Tell me otherwise, but I think that artist should TOTALLY be a job in this game. I have no idea what it’s attacks would be, but if you have ever played Kirby Star-Allies I want some of the attacks to maybe work like that. You could paint an assistant to attack, sculpt a stone wall to protect you and/or your partners in the journey. And you have a paintbrush to design your art and it’s also your preferred weapon. I think this is a great idea, and if they ever update the game to where they add more secret jobs, I want this to be one of the ones that they add.

Thief worked out really well for my Hero, Greninja.
And Mage is absolutely busted. Nino from FE7 is capable of doing 999 dmg, which is the most damage you can deal in the game.
I think this is mainly up to how you utilize your jobs and what your strategy is. You can theoretically make all of your Miis S tier.
remember that everything is subjective and that people could think a job is bad while another is good but not being your case (except flower, don't take flower when you have cleric)
Flower is S+ tier, hurricane for crowd control, buffing with flower power, and healing
Okay maybe flower isn’t the best but I love the glass cannon + support role
Also clearing all status effects and horse whispering revives,, fully heals, and gives everyone the gleeful effect. Flower power gives 1-2 extra turns to whoever it’s used on. It’s a better encore.
the ai is like one of the worst but ok.
The healing is DECENT but the damage is good
Flower power isn’t that good, trust me imps charm is a lot better of an option not to mention imp added even more buffs.
It’s glassy to magic users but a chad in the defense.
My go to team is
Me: cat
Shaggy: Cleric
Mage: Ugandan knuckles
And chef: Gordon Ramsay
I'll occasionally trade them out for
Stonks: scientist
Waluigi: Imp
Lucina: Warrior
Keanu Reeves: Elf
Jim from the office: Pop Star
Or person I know: Vampire
Should I use any others more often? Are their any roles I'm not using at all worth using and if so who should I switch? My team sucks against tower of dread and I want everyone on my team to sometimes be helpful
I have a funny story with the thief, because I actually brought an ai thief to the very end of the game.
This was during the boss for district 7. I was about to lose, and the boss was so low on health. I was literally about to lose, but my thief got himself back up again after fainting. My chef used last wish on him, restored all his health, and this man did a basic energetic run to the boss and made the final blow.
It may be a bad job, but I will never forget that moment. I had a new fond respect for the thief after that battle.
For Damage, tank is pretty good. I'd say you should only use it as the Player character though, to minimize team-damage taken by "magic"

Cat is in endgame the defacto most broken attack centered job. (At least on 3ds) (And If you maxed out mp)
Did you see the part of Rock Rain where it hits every enemy 5 times? That brings the total multiplier up to 3.0 on everything.

If you have the Praise effect and Spam Proud Protecter your basically reducing tons of damage to maybe 5-10 max
Elf is good because then you can make Minecraft Alex into an archer, and also they give free barriers. Oh and you unlock it late-game so you can take one into combat in new lumos and they will level up like 12 times
The only reason I used thief during world 3 and onwards until I unlocked vampire was because pilfer made it very easy to grind out hp banana usage and mp candy usage.
My tier list:
Top tier: Cat, mage and Elf
Hight tier: Swordfighter, Imp (My job in switch) and vampire
Mid tier: Cleric, chef and scientic
Low tier: Princess, Thief and pop star
Bottom tier: Tank (My job in 3ds) and flower
Horse Whispering Cat+Sharpen Claws at max attack melts all post game foes except for Dark Sun and a few tower of despair enemies.
In my game, my Thief is the best character in the game. :P
Chef is great early. Home cooking does 20 hp, will always get you to full hp because your so low level. Defense= taking hits a bit easier to get home cooking up. Flambé helps against bulky bosses. Cleric is still good early, it just doesn’t have stuff like aura or panacea to give it the edge. Note: this is an AI

For me the tank is very strong if it's your character take him
But for me a singer is just here for stop conflict

I have my game for i think 6 or 7 years
tank player is pretty good but the AI is awful and constantly causes quarrels in battle

Imp (player controlled)+Tank is actually really good.
My cat is so useless. It uses steal grub a lot, it doesn't even attack half the time and it doesn't use any of the attacking MP stats. So if I ranked cat in the AI I would put it in f tier.
I wish that the switch version had more jobs, I still thirst for content even after all of the new stuff

I think tank is a decent for AI. If you run Imp you can charm then just keep butt jabbing the Tank to let them hit 2 tikes per turn cycle. Tank has good synergy with Imp but other wise it's iffy.
What did we learn today?
Elf is op and you shouldn’t use it unless you want to go on super easy mode.
You don't get it until post game, and even then, it's very late into post game of course it's going to be OP as hell
