- Known for their uncompromising, heavy and in your face style (and plenty of guitar riffs), Lamb of God is one of the most popular bands to emerge from the new wave of American heavy metal. After a brief period as "Burn the Priest", the group changed their name to "Lamb of God" and became the band we know today with the release of the album New American Gospel in 2000. Since then, they have released 7 more full length studio albums, never deviating too far from their original style but continuing to perfect their craft. Which era was your favorite?

The best thing about this vid? It's 512 long.
do not have the lame vocals. Lamb of God have really cool guitar licks and solos but their vocals suck.
@@troybird8253 Okay, Hater.
@@troybird8253 Nah, Randy is awesome.
@@troybird8253 nah randy is one of the best vocalists in metal
King me is legit the most underrated lamb of god song ever. One of my friends who I no longer speak with got me into em.
Saw them play it live on Slayer's farewell tour. Was hoping they'd play a deep cut but i was not expecting that one, loved every second of it
@@kruzjohnson1921 nice one!
Yeah not a bad song but I personally rank that particular album last in LoG's catalogue. They've not released a bad album though. Resolution just drops behind the rest for me
Blood of the Scribe imo
@@wilko6679 I actually really like that album
The transition to Laid To Rest felt so smooth and Natural , great video
That Delusion Pandemic riff is still one of my favorites from LoG.
1:13 gets me everytime.. that taste of southern heavy guitar riff.. the live killadelphia version gets me fired up every time i hear it🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nailed the LOG Tone
I have no idea why but even after hearing and playing it for a thousand times the harmonic part and the ride during Laid to Rest (1:46) amazes me every time!
yeeah, that song is so awesome. i loved every song on the ashes of the wake album
Played like a champ. Love the selection of riffs. Also that Jackson is a beauty !
Great work. Wrath is still one of my all time favorite albums
Same here, such a relentless album
Everything you do is immaculate. Love your work Thomas.
Thank you so much!
You play wonderful, so thank you for this. I love that Lamb of God, through all of the adjustments throughout the years, still sounds like Lamb of God.
AWESOME!!!
Cool to see his right thumb do the worm during some of the trickier picking sections.
Got to see somebody paying homage to this bad ass group!
Fav Band!!! Mark Morton is a genius. Thanks for doing this
Fuck yeah! I knew there would be a Lamb of God video! You’re the man!!!
Don’t normally leave comments, but that was a treat to watch! Keep on it! 🤘
Much appreciated!
This is so f*#% incredible 😳 Dude, thx from the dephts of my heart, you saved my day!!!
Damn, the transitions from song to song were flawless, very impressive. Cant wait to see more :3
Simply excellent playing and tone.New follower.killer
Awesome great music song 👍👍👍🔥🔥
Smashing the hell out of it as always, Thomas. Now you've selected the music I'm going to be listening for the day. 😆😆
That's what I like to hear!
Man Wrath came out when I was in HS and is what got me into LoG. You picked a banger track for that one, but you should definitely check out ‘Condemn The Hive.’
Love that thr video is 5:12 long!
Really love your picking hand technique, such fluid motions😍
smooth
Still face, Great riffs, Dude bro. 😎🤘🎸
God of No Expressions! Great Playing!
Haha. My signature. Thanks!
Crazy how some of them blended so well I didn't realize the song changed
I was excitedly waiting to see what song you would pick for Ashes of the Wake. Laid To Rest is obviously a great choice but my personal favorite guitar lick is during Hourglass from 0:45 to 1:25. My favorite song on Sacrament will always be Descending because it's in 3/4, and this metal drummer also did ballroom dance for years, so anything in waltz time is an automatic fav for me! Thanks for another kickass video!
Glad you liked it! Yeah, Ashes of the Wake and Sacrament in particular were very hard to pick from. IMO their 2 most stacked albums
Hourglass = greatest riff of all time
Excellent!!! Amazing video. Congrats!!!
Thank you!
Awesome job !!!
You deserve a lot more viewers and subs, awesome video
Thank you!
That was awesome!
Epic! You’re a beast man!
Fkn awesome guitaring man, I'm blown away, so damn fluid!!! Well done dude!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Great work, Was hoping you would of started with Burn the Priest. Some great riffs on that album.
Lamb of God has the heaviestand sickest riffs! Awesome run through sir!!!!!!
incredible showcase Thomas!
You’re freaking awesome 👏 🤘🤘
There's no band as perfect as Lamb of God lol Chris Adler's drums with Mark Morton's riffs are literally untouchable
Danggggggg awesome playing 🔥🤘
Good stuff, man! Threw you a sub 👍
Thank you!
Great video as always! My favorite band and this shows why, those riffffsss
They just came out with a new burn the priest album. For your malice is one of my all time favorite songs.
So good! Really nice guitar tone as well.
The ending is fuckin badass dude 😎🤘🤘🎸💜💜💜💜💜
Great compilation! just missed out on walk with me in hell !
awesome hope more video from you
Riff monsters!
Awesome vid, dude! You always make it look so easy lol
Ashes of the Wake is probably my fav album of all time.
Muito legal Thomas , sou fan do Lamb of god , então ..., seria possível gravar uma vídeo aula , em ritmo mais lento para guitarristas iniciantes que curtem a banda e também possam tocar esse rifts pesados ? ,valew ,
parabéns pelo seu trabalho
My favorite band of all times
Высекаешь на гитаре как бог! Спасибо за твои труды!
King me 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
I love how he can transition from one song to another without missing a beat 😂
LOG is my favorite band. Very cool
Great 👍 log
Subbed!!
Thanks!
really rad!!
Tasty riffs 😋
Wrath is hands down best album. Change my mind
Sacrament. The album is sublime. The transitions are impeccable. Forgotten (Lost Angels) to Requiem is seamless for example.
Sacrament 1, wrath 2. Both of them are easily LOG’s most complete albums
Palaces……
i feel like it was played well but agression was licking you pick from fingers that’s very well suited for neoclassical picking but for heavy licks like this to pick from a wrist is way to go!
Hell yeah !!
Your playing is awesome Thomas! Would love for you to join the next World Wide Shred Collab i'm doing!🥳🔥
Checked out your last one, very cool! Keep me updated
The start of this video was hilarious since I only had my right earbud in.
How is Resolution 10 years old already.... I still think of that album as "New" LOG haha
Great job!! Some JINJER riffs I would like to hear!!!
yeaah man \m/
What amp or plug in are you using? Sounds great
Thanks! I'm using Helix Native
I love the tones you get, what are you using?
I'm using Helix Native for guitars and Parallax for bass
@@ThomasHogue Awesome, thanks and I appreciate you taking the time to respond. \m/
I always forget that Resolution exists
It’s a crime that no Burn The Priest songs are included in this video.
Sacrament and Wrath. Raw LoG. 👹
I'm so afraid to comment that this is an absolute banger medley, you might get sued lmfao
riff kings
I always used to think that Lamb of God are Death Metal
This may sound crazy but hear me out lol. think LOG is one of the most underrated metal bands out there. I can't think of one album of theirs that isn't killer. Yet you rarely hear people talk about them anymore. I think a lot of people just write them off because they got big in the early days of metalcore(the best Era in my metal boomer opinion lol).
I see them as a modern day Slayer in the sense that every album has been pretty consistent and not straying too far from their baseline.
On the flip side, I get a little burnt out after awhile because it all sounds so similar (which is kinda a bullshit thing to say).
I love thrash, but thrash is notorious for stagnation
They're almost exclusively playing amphitheaters on this year's tour. Not underated at all.
You're right that does sound crazy. lol. They're literally the best of the best. You know who's under rated? Testament! That band F-ing rules and they don't get half the recognition LOG does...
@@D-Day-fb3pw Exodus either.
@@FatSoundStudio And OverKill. But imo Testament still beats both Exodus and Overkill. Chuck billy"s vocals. Alex Scholniks solos, and the great Dave (Bombardo) Lombardo from Slayer is back for Testaments new album. Should be FN killer. Can't wait! 😎🤘
You need to change the name from Riff Evolution to Riff-Elusion!
What pedal are you using?
Helix Native for guitars
you forgot to put one from Burn the priest 1999
Really wish Grace was in here.
Wrath is an underrated album.
What Jackson type is that?
Looks like soloist
I'm an ok guitarist so it sucks that lamb of God is one of my favorites because I can't play almost any of their stuff 😂
Palaces is such a sick riff fest
Wonder how your lips survived. didnt bitte of the lower part
why did u slow songs down?
I didn’t?
The only song I can play from LOG is Omerta, LOL
There seemed a natural evolution from American gospel up to sacrament in style. Not that the others are shit. Far from it. They just seem to borrow more from the others now. But they have been going a while now. So understandable
Meshuggah should be next
I was actually just thinking about this but debating if I can make it work without an 8 string or wait until I eventually acquire one haha
Anything after Wrath is pretty generic, maybe a couple songs here and there.
is it me or is that picking look extra difficult
Look at this monster downpicking picking those songs. -__-
bro, work on syncing your two hands
In my opinion log started releasing mediocre albums after ashes, some cool songs here and there but nothing quite like the masterpiece that album is, every single song on it has memorable riffs, licks and drum parts. Sacrament although extremely overrated is not bad, descending, walk with me in hell and Blacken the cursed sun are good tracks, but still doesn't come close to AOTW
Evolution is the wrong Word... More like History...
Youre ruining Metal.
Mark Morton is a goddamn riff master
Hell yeah!!!
