@@SuperPyrusMaster I would say that they are really lacking in metalcore elements now. Heavy metal is the best word to describe them. NWOAHM is also appropriate. Not dissing them, I love the band.

@@alexanderh2715 Totally agree brother. That riff always gets me too. He has a sick right hand and he has written many amazing galloping-like metal riffs (including his solo band). Can't ignore his awesome fingerpicking riffs too. He's easily one of the best guitarists of 2000s.
It was 2019 - I heard Pillars of Serpents for the very first time on Pandora radio. Needless to say I immediately went through all of Trivium’s discography. Good stuff man - thank you for this!
Such an amazing and versatile band. I remember their august 2017 show. Finally got to experience one of my favourite songs, Kirisute Gomen, live. They also played TSATS before the album release, epic show
In my personal opinion, Trivium nailed what "their" sound was on In Waves. Nobody else sounded like that at the time, and whether you liked them or hated them, you had to respect them. They were absolute giants in the industry at the time as well
I’ve long been of the opinion that they peaked at Shogun and stopped paying much attention after In Waves, but that bit from Beyond Oblivion was pretty sick and the last two songs you chose weren’t half bad either. Probably would never have heard those songs without watching this video. Great content, keep it up man.
The first time I heard that song.. When ever im going to a concert and were 10 minutes away that comes on! Off that album im torn between 3 songs. That one, torn between Scylla and Charbdis, or Into the Mouth Of Hell. Granted I learned Into the mouth of Hell. I love that song so much!
Listening to these ten 10 songs in this way gave me the feeling that their riffs did not change much until around The Sin & The Sentence. But from there until now sounds different and better imo. Interesting listen. 👍
even tho i dont listing to them alot i like that trivium keeps the kinda oldschool ish metalcore genre and not switching to the new metalcore so a headbang to them
I mean they have changed quite a bit, but more in the direction of prog/thrash/melodeath elements, basically diluting the metalcore sound with other influences

The crusade is an underrated masterpiece
Agreed!
hell yeah it so is
I love the fact you picked songs that aren’t the popular ones from the records cause they have such amazing songs that are overshadowed
well he did put until the world goes cold there but everything else yessir
@@jasont1234 Wasn't detonation a single for the crusade as well?
I guess Kirisute Gomen is a single of Shogun
It shows he listens to Trivium hella.
@@The73rdSecret Kiristue gomen was the opening track but never a single only down from the sky and throes of perdition were from shogun
This band is the best metalcore and most stable guitar riffs characteristic
I wouldn’t really say they are metalcore anymore. More thrash mixed with heavy metal then anything else.
@@thelittleowl1 nah brother they're still as metalcore as it gets
@@SuperPyrusMaster their last 5 albums are not metalcore. Metalcore influenced thrash and heavy metal at most.

If Vengeance Falls didn't exist, I'd agree.
@@nonesoherpetological8974 I’d say that for silence in the snow I actually kinda liked vengeance.
Like any good band, they have like 1-3 good songs in an album. That's great.

He could honestly do a whole hour-long or longer video on all of Mark's work from Creed, AB, and Tremonti.
This video made me feel ancient. I remember every one of these albums releasing 😭 what a band
So many insane riffs... probably the bests riffs overall from any band (my opinion). You rocked these brother! Respect!
Hell yeah! Thank you
Trivium and Lamb of God are huge riff machines delivering great albums showing that sound can evolve while still staying heavy as ever.

really good to hear the riffs without vocals. not so easy to learn while matt/corey are screaming along.
cheers for this bud

Thank you so much for making Trivium riff evolution!

Breakdowns are still very appreciated from me but yeah I get you.
@@Mavvyd96 The problem is when they have no substance other than just slowing down the song with a few open notes
