    Army vet here. Still have a vivid memory of the “s” harassment by my SFC leader in the Motorpool 30+ years ago. I was the only female, 76C10B5, and my SFC would daily say things like (while holding up a screw) “hey Morgan, would you like a screw?” Or would say my name and when I would look up, he would wiggle his index finger - calling me over to him - and would say “I didn’t know you could come with one finger”. We (me and about 10 guys who witnessed it) reported it to the 1SG and SHE went and told the SFC what was said and by whom. Nothing was done to him. Have hardened and moved on with my life….but still remember it vividly and remember how embarrassed and upsetting it was.

      We're so sorry to hear that, the harassment was in no way your fault but it can be very upsetting and embarrassing.
      Are you looking to increase your VA disability rating (or get rated) and start getting the benefits you DESERVE?

    The way I was treated by my chain of command and peers following my mst. I tried to report it and was in turn treated like trash and my career went down hill. I am actively working on a mst claim. I can definitely say for other vets that this has a lifelong effect.

    Happened to me and my life spiraled for 30 years . I fought off 3 local nationals & was actually arrested for fighting back & was told by my chain of command to “ suck it up & take responsibility for my actions “ . It wasn’t until a few years ago while in patient for combat PTSD that I paid for out of my own pocket that I realized it actually happens to men . I’m just now going through with a claim & it’s primarily about righting a wrong to me . I tried to forget this shit for almost 30 years and only recently ( last year ) disclosed to my Phycologist & wife what happened .

    It happened to me right after Navy boot camp while in Radioman school in San Diego in 1983. I reported to the MAA/Base security. And almost immediately started getting death threats and physical violence threats. As such, I went back to the MAA/Base security and told them to forget it. I tried to put it behind me and move on. While I buried the memory in my head, my actions and life choices since then have proven that I wasn't as successful as I had hoped I would have been. Now 40 years later the PTSD has set in, been seeing psychologists, social workers, group therapy, and family therapy for the last 4 years and through those therapies and treatments identified the actual ground zero for my actions. Something that I had been successful in burying is now forefront in my head again. I had no idea I could file a claim for it. So back in October of 2022, I sent a request for the initial report from the NIS station in San Diego since the base is no longer in existence. Paid for an "expedited" service and only 2 weeks ago get an email that they are working on it. I'm not confident that they will be able find a record, so that has added to the stress of it all.

    I am a survivor of MST. Was raped 4 times in 3 years of active duty by fellow Army soldiers. Interested in what you have to say today. Glad I caught this alert.

    I had a married female supervisor who absolutely destroyed my Navy career, going so far as to switch medication orders after so that I might harm my patients. I had previously succumbed to childhood PTSD, nearly committing suicide when I failed to respond to her charms on a weekend outing to which she invited me and she proceeded to make my life miserable.
    After I was granted an honorable discharge due to a pre-existent personality disorder, she went nuts and scream-whispered that the four commissioned officers were wrong and I had to be punished. It wasn’t enough to keep me out of a fun run, she said she had to make me suffer, she knew that putting me in charge of the whole clinic would freak me out, in other words, trigger my PTSD.
    When I wound up putting the wrong drops in a patient’s eyes, drops that could have blinded her, this crazy woman magically knew-because she knew she had switched the med orders-and had me sent to Captains Mast.
    But when we went there, because other people heard she said about the comm. officers who signed my discharged papers and her promise to make me suffer, because the captain had previously ordered that I was not to be in charge of a single patient especially after she labeled me a sub-par hospital Corpsman in my last written eval, and numerous other pieces of evidence that were in abundance, along with the fact that a doctor had already put in the correct eye drops and the patient was okay, the charges were dropped. In fact, the base commander declared the this was obviously a case of a woman scorned and assigned me to work in the barracks to finish out the few weeks remaining until my separation from the Navy.
    After 39 years, I finally got a C&P, but the psychologist seemed disappointed that I wasn’t a drug addict or alcoholic who failed rehab-I never used drugs nor used alcohol habitually-and also focused on my replying to question that no, she hadn’t touched me inappropriately and asked how could I know she had tried to seduce me.
    In essence, I guess she feels I wasn’t sexually traumatized, because grown men cannot be sexually abused by women without sexual contact and that my childhood trauma couldn’t have been made all that bad by the Navy since, even though I have attempted suicide many times (the last one nearly succeeded, completely shutting my kidneys for almost two weeks), I have history of substance abuse.
    She kept cutting me off I tried to complete my stories of winding up in multiple psych wards and a mental hospital, so she seemed determined to declare me not worthy of disability compensation.
    What do you think?

      We're so sorry to hear that. Even if you didn't report it, there are multiple types of evidence that the VA will accept to support a MST claim though.

    my claim for ptsd was approved, but would my MST be a part of the ptsd claim

    • @VAClaimsInsider
      @VAClaimsInsider  ปีที่แล้ว

      MST is actually rated under PTSD. If you feel like your symptoms warrant a higher percentage than the one you were awarded, we'd suggest that you file for an increase.
