Thanks for this information. I was involved in a flood in my vehicle during a rainy day (a river flooded) after a seabag inspection. I grew up in the Caribbean and was a good swimmer before joining the Navy, but I developed an irrational fear of drowning and I never knew where it came from until I started doing therapy for some other stuff that I connected that fear back to the flood. That shit really sucks.
We are happy to help! Let us know if we can assist you with anything!
This was very informative thanks

Thanks for everything guys....when submitting medical evidence do you need to upload everything from 2 years treatment or just the medical notes that says the severety of the condition?
Thank YOU for your service! Here's a comprehensive guide of everything you have to know to file a successful claim > vaclaimsinsider.com/how-to-file-a-va-claim-a-comprehensive-faq-guide/
Thanks for all this info. If I filed 2 claims as a new claim but meant to file them as nexus or secondary to an existing approved disability, and they were denied, can I change them to nexus and keep the original filing date or do I have to make an entire new claim?
Hi there! A Nexus Letter is an evidence-based document prepared by a private medical professional that helps to establish a link or connection (“Nexus”) between the veteran’s current disability and their active duty military service. They are not a claim on their own, but a supporting document that might help strengthen your claim. They are specially helpful when filing a secondary condition claim.
If you have been denied, you have a few options: A BVA appeal is not the best first option. You have two additional options to appeal: Higher Level Review (HLR) and Supplemental Claim. Our coaches make recommendations for each based on the Veteran’s specific situation. We recommend that Veterans try the HLR if the right evidence was submitted the first time. We recommend the Veteran submit a Supplemental Claim if they have new and relevant evidence to support the denied claim. A Board Appeal should be the last resort because it takes much longer. You can always submit a new claim as well.

Thank you both for all you do for us veterans. I am a bit confused about verifying the stressor, however. I was under the impression that in 2010 the VA made it easier to service connect PTSD by determining that the veteran no longer had to prove the stressor event as long as he/she was in a declared combat area and there was no proof the that the stressor stated by the veteran did not happen. Is this true? Thank you.
Hi there! Here's a resource that will help > vaclaimsinsider.com/ptsd-stressor-requirements-the-definitive-guide/
Yes it's true. The C&P examiner stilll must state the event/experience could have caused your PTSD though.
@@thinkforyourself9334 I can confirm that is true. However, I had 5 years of documented therapy that supported my claim.
what about incidents that resulted in PTSD that were highly classified in nature? Great video by the way!

I recently found out in my stressor for PDST that the 2 people that was with me passed away when this traumatic incident occurred. What option is now at my disposal? I have a phyciatrist and thearapist that concur that I have PTSD

Does VA CRSC go into play for ptsd disability rating? CRSC says anything under combat, hazardous duty, war simulation, and exposure to instruments of war all count as combat related ptsd.

Thanks for the information. Have a question. I was an MP, traffic accident investigator & criminal investigator in the marine corps for 20 years. In all my positions I was exposed to some pretty horrible stuff, but nothing from deployment. Given that my job was as a first responder, and I went on hundreds of calls from homicide to rape, sexual assault, you name it. How am I supposed to identify a particular stressor? My therapist diagnosed me with complex ptsd, MDD and anxiety disorder. I’m not sure after listening to this if I’d be able to get service connected. Anyone have any advice?

I served in Vietnam in 1970. During my tour I earned an Air Medal based on 27 helicopter assault missions. I’m rated 70% for PTSD Non- Combat. Is my Non-Combat designation correct.
Non-combat-related PTSD must be service-connected and may include traffic collisions, training accidents, military sexual trauma, survivor's guilt, fear of hostile military, and ongoing exposure to death and violence, to name a few.

My husband is still waiting for PTSD appeals court hearing. It's been 3 years.
We are sorry to hear this, BVA Appeals are notorious for taking a long time. Here's what the VA has to say regarding waiting times > www.bva.va.gov/decision-wait-times.asp

@@VAClaimsInsider submitted diagnosis and nexus letter that says 70% as i am currently at 30% so will be ~80%, been unemployed since May 31st. 7 jobs since 2020. Will go for TDIU once the claim is approved. then put in for SMC-L and apply for SSDI 🤞
Funny I have non combat even though I started seeing psychiatrist after deployment and that's when I got my diagnosed with PTSD for related stressors
Hi Richard! Is there any way we can help assist you today?
D mac 😊the man❤❤❤
Good stuff, but a stressor event does not have to be a fear for your life only.
Thank you for sharing.
I was diagnosed with PTSD by my private doctors because I was apart of a rescue mission that went bad. I live with some of the guilt because of that mission but my life was not in danger. Does this mean I cannot file for PTSD since my life was not in danger?
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental and behavioral disorder that develops from experiencing a traumatic event. Yes, you can file a claim for PTSD. Read more here > vaclaimsinsider.com/va-ptsd-rating-criteria/
@@VAClaimsInsider Thank you so much for your channel! I've learned so much from you and the team.
I claimed PTSD and was approved 50% for Somatic Sympton Disorder. I cant go back now and file a claim for PTSD can I? Because I definitely think the VA screwed up with this one. I had a nexus letter from a civilian pyschologist. The VA made their decision based on what a pyschologist at the VA said (years earlier), that he didn't think I had PTSD.

I have stuff buried from the 1st Gulf War from my time in Iraq. I think it's time I talk to someone.
Yes it is! You deserve it. Thank you for your service sir. We are here if you need any assistance.
Wow.... So let me get this straight. Just like other Service Members in the National Guard and Reserves, I received a Sleep Study Exam while on Active-Duty Orders. I received a Diagnosis for OSA while on Active-Duty Orders. I was issued a C-PAP Machine with a year worth of supplies while I was on Active-Duty orders. Yet and still, just like other Guardsmen and Reservist I was Denied. Nevertheless, there is not one Channel here on TH-cam that can explain this. If there is ANYONE out there who can explain this, please do so. Because it seems like all these Veteran advocates don't have a clue.
Hi there, we understand your frustration. We created this guide that might be helpful for you > vaclaimsinsider.com/can-reservists-get-va-disability/#0-can-reservists-get-va-disability
I was in bien hoa on tet 68
Thousands of b/c killed then body pick up and piles them in a 10 ft high pile a few hundred yards long
Gave locals 3 days to pull relatives
Then dig hole pushed them in covered by diesel and burned them for weeks
I can’t stop dreaming of that and wake-up screaming at wet with sweat and sheets in a ball
Wife left
Live on a mountain top alone with 69K blm land around me and signs on gate warning
To stay out
The shrink in 1968 at LA Va said I had PTSD but VA didn’t believe in it
So you tried in 1984 results was had wrong MOS so denied but I fought for 3 days with weapons and watched the results so I lost trust in people
