Imagine the hardest route ever bolted at your climbing gym... now imagine it being 10x harder... now imagine it being 5x the length... now imagine two V15 boulders in the middle of it... now imagine you have to drive 1,864 miles to attempt it... now imagine the sun is baking you and you're being filmed... that's this.
as a boulderer I cannot even imaging how its even possible to have enough endurance to climb constantly for 20 minutes straight. let alone on a difficulty that is so much harder than what im capable of climbing, which already leaves me pumped after a single boulder in the gym that you climb for maybe a minute or so
And after climbing for 40 minutes, bleeding and sweating, and sending one of the hardest routes on Earth, once he hit the ground, he realized he forgot to remove the quickdraws.
pretty sure he just set up a top rope for the cameraman to go up and clean the route. thats what all the pro's do i would know, im a pro top rope climber
I'm just a casual climber for a year now, watching classic climbing content and I've never felt such a need to write a comment. This movie is just amazing, breathtaking! Love your climbing and editing style, and the "I fell joke" was SO DAMN GOOD MAN. Cheers!
This was just beautiful, amazing achievement Stefano, way beyond comprehension for most of us. And thanks to Adam as well for bolting this masterpiece.
I was sceptical at first of watching this video simply due to its length - I can honestly say now after taking the time to watch that I was completely engaged for every minute. The film shows you every part of Stefano's fight against this monster line and the level of dedication and unadulterated willpower involved in a project like Change. You're the GOAT man, don't go changing!
One of the best climbing videos of 2020, amazing performance and cinematography! Can't imagine the amount of pain, discomfort and pump that route must have generated. Also I've never had this amount of hand sweat from any other climbing video.
I came here thinking I'd skim through the video, after all, I've seen Ondra do this before. Ended up watching every second of it. This was very well made and the calm commentary was really satisfying to hear. Thank you for doing this and bravo on the sick send!
Everytime you said: "This was the moment I was worried about.." and then you did the move I was Like "yeeaah man!" - then you said: "but actually there still was this next Part to come.." Holy Cow that is an awesome route
You are so beautiful honest and talking also about those worries going through your head while climbing. Thank you for sharing all those moments and emotions.
So excited for this finale. Amazing job on the second ascent Stefano. It's really awesome to see these details about the route, this whole series was very well done
Jeeeeez This is by far the most insane route I've ever seen, even more impressive than Silence imo, at least from the sheer length of it. The endurance and power required for this are just beyond human...I'm worn out by just watching this video. Out of this world, Stefano! Congrats!!!
This route is def one of the most hardest routes ever climbed, you are one of the few climber so well trained and prepared who can only do it and your resistance and performance are just outstanding and overwhelming to compare with, Stephano. My most sincere congratulations and believe you will climb "Silence" and become the second around the world to do it. Very well done! ❤️
Man, I very rarely leave any comment on TH-cam, but I had to make an exception for this one. I've been warching many climbing videos and this is one of the best. I already found this route was appallingly hard when Adam sent it, but this looked even more terrible. You made my knuckles ache ;-) .And you did it in such a humble way, hats off!
Huge congratulations to you and Sara. Not only for climbing the route, but also for doing such a great job with the filming and editing. I really appreciate you bringing us into your journey. I hope other climbers follow your example in the future, as I really enjoyed the commentary !
Thanks for sharing all your thoughts and feelings during the ascent! It is very comforting to know that these thoughts are still there even when you are a PRO! Gracie mille, Stefano!!
Nice! I really like the way you made this series and appreciate all the effort you put into this besides all the climbing. No need for a full camera crew ;-)!
The truth is, you needed to go back to Italy for a pasta refill. It worked! E' stato bello seguire il percorso fino al successo. E sentire cosa passa nella tua testa in quei momenti. Kudos to Adam for putting up such an amazing route, too.
Ah man when you said "and this is where i fell" my heart dropped!! ... Good one you got me there. Sick send!! glad the journey finished on a possitive!
This series has been phenomenal, keep it up! Don't feel pressured by your audience to push your limits, we want to see you honoring beautiful climbs with your smooth and precise style!! Cheers🍻
Omg what a great ascent, totally loved this series, I had so much sweat coming out of my hands just watching that, stephano your an absolute legend and so humble
Stefano you are such a sadist!!! "So... it was at this moment.... that I fell" .................... "just kidding"..... I almost had a heart attack from that!!!!!!. I know I am half a year late but congratulations on the send and thank you so much for the great video!!! :) I love your sense of humor
Great job! Change looks amazing, so many cool moves. The scenery in Flatanger is beautiful as well, I really enjoyed the shots of the surrounding area. Thanks for filming the trip!
What a ridiculous route, and an amazing send! I don't think I've been on a wall longer than ten mins vs close to the hour you spent climbing. Just amazing
Congratulations Stefano for the result, and for your great passion and professionality! 👏 Big up to Sara and the team for the beautiful and inspiring video! 😊
Congrats man. What an epic route, and such a great climb...pretty cool to see it in such detail and commentary.. (nice joke on the "and then I fell"..for split second I was like "What da f****?"!! Allez!!
So inspiring!! I just started climbing and this makes me wanna try harder than my latest achievement (6b haha)! Step by step until you can feel the Change :)
At the end of the movie, I felt the same tireness of you. Really impressive. At the end each section I was thinking: ok, now the route is finished. Instead a new hard section begun. Congrats Stefano, you are a rock beast!!!!
By this time i was climbing for about 40minutes.......uuuuh what? Like, seriously....WHAT?! Your endurance is god-tier! Knocking out these ultra hard routes man, bravo!
Grazie per la passione che condividi e per le emozioni che questo sport può dare. Un altro 9b+ da aggiungere alla lista. Rimarrai nella storia. CHANGE my mind
Thanks for the joy you bring to me today. Stefano, I have just watched your video, full ascent of Change. To be honest I have watch the other shorter videos in wich you share with us the process. And I thought that I would not learn more from this video. I was so wrong. It’was beautiful, so enjoyable to watch you climbing from the ground to the top; so enjoyable to hear your comments. I felt so much intensity and authenticity in the same time from your climb and your words. Thanks again. You made my day. I just want to finish by congratulate your girlfriend Sara Grippo for the filming she did. Very well done. Take care.
😂 u got me good when u said “and it was in this moment that I fell”
Totally. I also thought he was going to fell! xD
I had a heart attack :O
I was like 😱 NO!
Short moment of horror :-)
I may or may not have loudly yelled "no!" at my tv
Imagine the hardest route ever bolted at your climbing gym... now imagine it being 10x harder... now imagine it being 5x the length... now imagine two V15 boulders in the middle of it... now imagine you have to drive 1,864 miles to attempt it... now imagine the sun is baking you and you're being filmed... that's this.
And some holds were wet apparently..
Woah, are the two cruxes really V15???
@@SpartaSpartan117 No, Ondra seems to have described the first one as V14. Unsure of the second crux but I would guess it’s easier
as a boulderer I cannot even imaging how its even possible to have enough endurance to climb constantly for 20 minutes straight. let alone on a difficulty that is so much harder than what im capable of climbing, which already leaves me pumped after a single boulder in the gym that you climb for maybe a minute or so
wikipedia says the hardest boulders he has climbed was two 8b+, I think there's no way the cruxes are v15
...forever "Changed" your life. I see what you did there. Now it is time to "Silence" any remaining doubters.
And after climbing for 40 minutes, bleeding and sweating, and sending one of the hardest routes on Earth, once he hit the ground, he realized he forgot to remove the quickdraws.
hahahahha excellent :)
Some poor dude has to climb Change on the back rope to get them
pretty sure he just set up a top rope for the cameraman to go up and clean the route. thats what all the pro's do
i would know, im a pro top rope climber
@@sorenlarssen27 #sarcasm
The route is like twice longer then I thought... Respect Stefano...this was unbelievable.
Yeah, now that's a nice Christmas gift for a change.
The fact that Stefano cuts loose where Adam fought like crazy doing contorsionist moves is absolutely crazy!
"and then I fell"
My heart sank
And then I got played 🤣
This footage is a climbing masterpiece. Another 9B+ for Stefano!
Is that two now?
@@terraflow__bryanburdo4547 perfecto Mundo
yes!
The climb, the commentary, the editing - incredible stuff! That was well worth the waiting. Thank you for this post-christmas gift, Stefano!
i think. that this was the most beatiful climb, i have ever seen.
yeah, my thought exactly! the word is "beautiful"!
I'm just a casual climber for a year now, watching classic climbing content and I've never felt such a need to write a comment. This movie is just amazing, breathtaking! Love your climbing and editing style, and the "I fell joke" was SO DAMN GOOD MAN. Cheers!

What a great achievement!
Congratulations!!
And thank you for giving us such detailed insights in the journey.
I really enjoyed it.
You are so beautiful honest and talking also about those worries going through your head while climbing. Thank you for sharing all those moments and emotions.
So epic, so humble. Truly exceptional. And it almost seems like the foot blowing at 14:38 was intentional for dramatic purposes. Too good!!

You're a wonderful storyteller, Stefano! Congrats on the send -- I was so invested from your previous videos.
Nice! I really like the way you made this series and appreciate all the effort you put into this besides all the climbing. No need for a full camera crew ;-)!
Seriously impressive especially with the length of the route and amount of different angles they got.
One of the best climbing videos I’ve ever seen. Great work on the ascent. Please continue to make videos in this style.
