I live in the mountains and would like a basically bare bones, simple rugged little vehicle to get me around the winding dirt roads. Seems a lot like the old Willy’s/cj models. Love the idea of a little desiel engine. Might have found the winner…
@@The_SmorgManThe rear gear is impressive, definitely not a highway gear unless it's got an overdrive option. I had a Scout with 4.88 differentials, had to install a Saturn overdrive in the Dana 18 transfer case to make it highway capable. Otherwise, this thing has what it takes short of limited slip if you need something tough as nails and aren't intending on fording mud holes, it's a bit heavy for that IMO. I'd leave the factory standard suspension as-is. All that said, I personally need something that can be registered for street use and haul my small utility trailer with firewood and trash for the local dump.
The big problem is the Roxor isn't legal on public roads in US....I love the Roxor's simplicity, but it's just a great TOY for off-road....I'm still getting one though!
Well street legal is a broad term. and I know some states have some very strict laws for what is allowed on their roads. This sold in the states as a UTV so whatever you local laws are regarding vehicles as such will apply.
I had to go to Spearfish SD for mine but I looked online for about 6 months until I found the one I wanted. If you don't care about the front end style you can buy a new one at almost any mahindra dealership
@@rickreese5794 first off your welcome also fuel economy is going to be roughly around the 20 to 25 mpg range spending on obvious factors. The one thing that boosted my fuel economy was upgrading the turbo the exhaust and adding the charge air cooler. I also switched the fan over to electric I have not calculated it yet but it's an obvious boost I'd say I'm almost to 30 mpg but we will see.
No issues so far. Mahindra does a great job. ill be posting some videos here once the weather gets better we have alto of snow in my area stay tuned and please subscribe.
It depends on your state so mine is street legal for any road that's no a highway or a freeway. A tow bar fixes that issue when going places far away but there are work arounds to get it on the free way.
Funny when you realize it's a 30 year old "Jeep" still being made. Not like it's completely new. Mahindra launched it way back in the 90s and was initially known as the mm540. Mahindra did nothing other than adding a newer engine. Much rather be impressed by JEEP's Wrangler for retaining solid axles yet making them more refined. Mahindra does have a similar vehicle named the mahindra Thar, but that thing comes with IFS.
To each their own you make a good point but try and find a jeep with a diesel with such a small wheel base. it doesn't exist. Ive been talking with my dad on this issue for a while now. If jeep made a small wheel base jeep that nodded at the old cj5 cj7 era and yet gave an option for the 3.8 cummins it would put Mahindra out of business in the states. But jeep has no interest in that market it would seem. their are definitely pros and cons to both. I appreciate the comment please subscribe so you can follow the progress god bless.
@@boomerraised8259 Well outside the States, Jeep did sell a lot of diesel Jeeps, the JKs powered by 2.8l VM motari diesel engines while the JLs powered by a 2.2l multijet. Then there is this version of JK with rear leaf spring and the 2.8l diesel, known as the J8, which has been exclusively made for miners. The problem is diesel vehicles don't sell much in america, unless they are heavy-duty ones like those 2500 cummins, tractors, semis. The roxor in the states is sold as a side by side. Toyota too has a more larger lineup of 4 cylinder Diesel Engines, yet in the states it's always those gas powered V6s and V8s. Here in India ford sold it's diesel powered everests that were based on international spec ford rangers. Yet in the states, diesel powered midsized SUVs and pickups never existed. So if Mahindra ever thought about selling proper road legal civilian 4x4 in the states, it would definitely turn out to be a gas powered one.
Your right its not a jeep. IMO its better than a new jeep. Nothing can replace the old school jeeps but if you want an old jeep you get a rusted out pos or you pay through the nose. My whole point this video is that Mahindra does a killer job of producing a machine that solves that issue while also addressing some of the upgrades every old school jeep enthusiast ends up ding to their jeep eventually if they can afford it. Ie power steering power brakes and don't forget the fact that its diesel. good luck buying a jeep in this condition and shaping a diesel in and being under 30k at the end of it all. anyways thanks for the comment.
Looks sick in that b and w scheme! Love the looks of these new Roxors
The black and white always looks awesome.

Mahindra vehicles are an important mainstay of rural and semi urban India. These vehicles are born tough, built tough and near indestructible.

I love this, Mahindra is known for quality and performance.
Nice Roxor video. Thank you! Greetings from South Africa, with my 2010 Thar 🚙
Thank you how do you like your That?
Please put some videos in your channel about your Thar
Show us your Thar in your channel please.
Much, much better than a Jeep, by virtue of the Diesel engine alone.
love the white & black Roxor combo.....looking beast.
Thank you ill be posting a new video soon as soon as the weather gets nicer.
Looks great. The front looks like an up-close view of a Black Widow Spider.
I think we might have a contender for the name of the roxor
This thing is as close to a new WWII jeep as you can get. A little bit bigger, actually. Awesome vehicle.
Thank you
It is basically a modern WW2 Willey jeep licensed produced by mahindra
How much leg room is there compared to CJ or other jeep models? I’m pretty tall
Good color combination.🎉
Make a more video on Roxor please!!
Cute Roxor 😍
Mahindra 🔥
Mahindra is in good quality always .
Where did you get the rear seat?
On the Rox fabrication
The big problem is the Roxor isn't legal on public roads in US....I love the Roxor's simplicity, but it's just a great TOY for off-road....I'm still getting one though!
This is actually a very misunderstood issue. It depends on your state. In my state I can drive anywhere that is not a state highway or an interstate.
Not sure what my state would say, but I live in a small town of 60 people… I bet I could do whatever I want with it
Great video!
Street legal by state? What would make it not street legal?
Well street legal is a broad term. and I know some states have some very strict laws for what is allowed on their roads. This sold in the states as a UTV so whatever you local laws are regarding vehicles as such will apply.
that's a nice roxor. also look into the 'max Anthony' lift. It utilizes YJ springs (much longer and can get softer ride) and new shackle locations.
Mitch thank you so much ill look into it I've been looking for a solid yj spring conversion. Your a scholar and a gentleman
where u get the jeep to buy?
I searched atv trader for months to find this specific year. Go to google and look up ROXOR USA and the will show you the dealership nearest you.
Nice!!
great video ❤❤ love from india

Definitely more Jeep than a Fia- I mean Stellantis Jeep.
Lol no kidding
I have mahindra thar 700 crde fully road legal version of roxor love old jeep Willy's
That's awesome the Thar is a cool rig in my opinion mahindra is doing what jeep is missing the boat on.
Have any one seen Mahindra THAR? Pls comment
Street legal?

Indian company, but we are not going to take credit for it . Enjoy.

Not a Jeep, its a side×side. Its a cool one, but not a Jeep
Mahindra intentionally sells them aside by side because its cheaper

Im not sure why people buy something that needs so much fabrication & call it a great deal?
There are people who love to build on something basic, not everyone is like you.
Great Vid would like to see more. them coming!!👍

So,....it's a non street legal jeep?? Why not get an old jeep? At least you could drive it to the store.
I'm going to have to make a video clarifying this. There seems to be a miscommunication it is street legal but in my state I can't go on the freeway.
@@boomerraised8259 So it's considered like a UTV side by side?
@@doghouse416 exactly.
The seven-slot Jeep look is better I think the new style is ugly
Mahindra was sued for it and they had to change the grill design 😕
Honestly looks like a knockoff Jeep Willy’s.
You obviously didn’t watch the video because it explains why it looks the way it does and it has a lot to do with the fact the it is a Willy’s tub.
@@boomerraised8259Sorry if I made you mad but I did not say anything bad about it, it is a cool car but it just looked like one.😅
