There's no competition to Mahindra in usa, nobody buys a car that cheap. So people would compare mahindra to expensive cars and say that they're shit. Like, scorpio has no competition in south africa so people compare it to fortuner which is a different segment. Just like that if xuv gets launched in usa, people would compare it to rav4 or compass which are more expensive cars.
Mahindra did try to set up distribution in the US but they got sued by Jeep for design infringement. After WW Ii Mahindra was a "licensed" Jeep manufacturer for India and parts of Asia. Some how the current Jeep corp doesn't realize that the infringement they are claiming goes back almost 70 years and actually was based on designs by the Bantam Car Co., Willy's and Ford. So, while Jeep absorbed Willy's and Chrysler absorbed Jeep and Daimler absorbed Chrysler and God knows who owns Jeep now, I feel like the claims of design infringement is pretty nebulous at best.
Really love that they’re goin with their own look on these new ones to distinguish themselves from the old cjs. Also really like that they are a QUALITY product unlike a lot of the other off-road vehicles we see now a days that need to be in the shop all the time… I also think it’s funny that people think they NEED a tune for more power… 62 is plenty for farm use and I think that trying to pull more out of it is definitely gonna hurt reliability
Being an American raised by old guys I love the CJ look. Grew up around jeeps. So I’d rather have the 2019 look. Being said, I’m looking to get one and I don’t see a reason to tune it I just want something to throw a sleeping bag and gold pan in for putting around the dirt mountain roads
The motor is the same one that is in my 4540 mahindra tractor I have stage 2 tune on roxor about 85 mph top speed 36 miles to the gallon with tune. You can keep up with the side by sides most can't keep up with the roxor after tune.The sxs are faster on sharp turns but that's about it..They now offer larger turbo bigger injectors and one place has stage 3 tune,my Honda talon come in at around 1900lbs after all the extras most sxs come in around 1800 to 2300lbs the roxor is 3000lbs ..
Wish this Mahindra roxor was available in my country this Jeep is for tough road and I'm pretty sure if you upgrade the wheels this thing will go anywhere i would call it king of off road and the look is raw.
The hauling capacity is only 350lbs because there is no cab protection from the bed. If u slam on the brakes with more weight it can crush you. If they added some protection for the passengers then it would be able to rate it higher. But it realistically will carry more. Its a liability thing on mahindras end.
The "tail" for the net doors isn't really a tail man. It gives you excess length incase you want to loosen it up. There is a little mechanism at the end of that clip using which you can tighten it up or loosen it depending on your needs.

A new Mahindra Roxor for $18,900 is not a cheap vehicle. And with that price you are not street legal yet. I love the diesel engine but buyers have to take the vehicle to a "Tuner service" to get enough horse power for the USA. I do wish Mahindra well and hope they do their homework to stay competitive and in business in the USA.

I would love one of these if I could legally drive it around town in Florida, just trips to the beach, supermarket, etc, staying off the high speed highways.

No it isn't true, not sure why the hood latch is on right side but Mahindra Roxor is made specifically only for the American market in Detroit. Infact you can't even buy Roxor in India cause Mahindra doesn't even make them here.

It won't hurt the reliability. The engine is capable upto 200 bhp. I heard the same engine is doing duty on Mahindra's highend SUVs in India
