Hi I just started watching your videos and I must say with all my stress your videos is helping me u start my chemo this Thursday I was diagnosed with breast cancer .
Hi, I hope all my tips can help. You can heal and live well. ❤️
Hi Marina!
Just started chemo and I agree that cancer brings life into focus. I have more evolving to do, myself, but I love your perspective on how cancer has affected your life in positive ways.
Hi! It’s hard to lean into why having cancer would be good. I choose to see what I’ve learned from having it. My health is magnified now and my kids get more of me and for that I’m grateful.
I was 46 when i had TNBC, and yes, you are so right, I descovered my real me after cancer, actually cancer allowed me to be really myself…I feel good in my own skin now, I dare just to be me!
This. Wow. Thank you for feeling me on this. It can be hard to see cancer this way but it can really strip back the layers of our life to show us what is really important.
How arenyou doing
@@jbreezy2501 ok so far, I am almost two years since finishing chemo…it is a new life after cancer, had to learn to live in a new way…but it is a new life, I am so greatful for that, every day because I know that somewhere else, somebody just like me, didn’t get that chance
I’m done with active treatments and am now looking for a job to pay off all these medical bills! My hair is still short and it’s all gray now. I have zero self confidence on my job search because of it. I now look older than 48! I e also been out of work for a year now 😢 Anyone have any tips on interviewing after cancer? I feel this is going g to be hard.
Can you dye your hair or get a sassy short hairstyle? It may give you a confidence boost. I pray you can find inner peace and a job! 🙏🏼
aug 15 two years since my dmx@@@@@
Hi
You are an inspiration!
I read somewhere that sauna should be avoided by a cancer survivor... not sure though
Hi! Yes, I’d have to do research on that myself. If you’re done with treatment though, it feels good!
Having problems with my chemo. I keep getting diarrhea, which makes me feel sick. Was supposed to have chemo this week but was canceled because of my diarrhea. Hope things get better, might have to get a different chemo. Stage 4 breast cancer is hard. Hope you keep doing well and how is your mom?
Hi, I’m sorry to hear that. I hope they can figure out your treatment for you. 🙏🏼
Hi Marina! I just had a bilateral salpingo oophorectomy done. I was wondering what you are doing to maintain your bone and heart health? Have you added anything to your diet or exercise routine? TIA!
Hi, yes. I try to eat more leafy greens and I’ve been doing more weights in my exercise routine again. I plan to get a weighted vest for my morning walks once our weather cools down too.
Vitamin D helps in menopause

@@MarinaBlackford Thank you.😊
Hello did they ever put you on a maintenance pill after chemotherapy?
No maintenance pill.
@MarinaBlackford oh i havr stage 3 ovarian cancer and i finish chemo now im on a maintenance pill doctor said to be safe for reocurerence....did your doctor say why no maintenance pill for you?
Hi Marina i am a breast cancer surviour i want to know how you deal with follow up test anxiety
Ah. It’s tough. I have a video I just posted that relates to this. th-cam.com/video/q-lSzSJPvgk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0eeNOgxe2PQzaRMa
Hi Marina, I was told that using a sauna after lymph nodes are removed can put me a risk for lymphedema and that lymphedema risk last a lifetime. I was sad to hear that because saunas are great. Lastly, I was diagnosed with metastatic HER2 positive a year and a half now, long story short, scans are now clear , Praise God, previously cancer was on my liver, lower back muscle and lymph nodes, scans only shows my breast tumor which has decreased tremendous, saying all that to say, I was told by my doctor that because it was metastatic I will need treatment every 3 weeks for the rest of my life…I’m on Enhertu which has a little chemo in it and it’s harsh to my body in some ways. You’ve mentioned that your cancer had spread also. Your not on treatment forever. Can
you shed some light on this if possible? Or if anyone can shed some light or maybe going through the same thing.
Hi, I did not realize that about saunas and lymphedema. That is disappointing. I’ll have to research that as well. Sounds like you’re had great results. I pray you continue to heal. I personally had a new tumor in residual breast tissue but it was not in any organs or bones so not considered metastatic. Scans were clear after chemo and surgery.
Getting ready to head to Banner to start chemo...I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous...sigh
btw...I had my port placed two days ago....I'm curious if you had one and can you still do weights and exercise with one in?
@@faithf4988 I got my port in May. I was advised at the hospital to wait about two weeks and no heavy lifting, but check with your nurse. I eased back to activities - I swim, workout on weight machines, cardio walking and biking, light yoga, and gardening. It’s on my right upper chest, so I felt it in my first activities, but most of the time I don’t think about it unless I touch it.
@@faithf4988 yes you can. I think when it was first put in I had to limit activity, maybe a week? Cant remember. I had my port put in last June (2022). Stage 4 Ovarian, as of February 2023 I am in remission with no concern for recurrence. According to my doctor I will keep my port for two years. Hopefully it will come out sometime next year. It has never bothered me as I can do everything as though it wasn't there. Yoga, run, exercise etc. The most important for me was being able to pick up my youngest grandson. Never a problem. At some point you wont even know its there. I wish you all the best during your treatment.
Hi, I hope your chemo went okay. I was able to workout with my port in but waited about 2 weeks before doing any harder workouts. So just easing into it with walks and giving the incision time to heal.
Your lucky u where able to afford all that stuff like acupuncture.
At my Cancer Center they offer accupuncture for free as well as other services that can help ease cancer treatment side effects and stress. Something to ask about for anyone who is going thru treatment - ask your center what they offer.
Yes, acupuncture was covered at my cancer center. They billed my insurance and I did not pay thank goodness. It’s all expensive however. I feel that. I survived off a gofundme the first time I had cancer and was single and paying all my own bills. Grateful for every donation. 🙏🏼
Shirley here, I know people who had a complete removal of all female parts and they said they lost their sex drive. I am sure everyone's different.
Hi Shirley! I’ve heard that too…then I heard sex was better after for some women. Especially those with endometrial problems. I leaned into the “better category” but everything just took time and healing.
@@MarinaBlackford You where a lucky one to your still young these women where older.
