    I've seen people rag on this toyline for being cheap and somewhat disappointing, but I can't help admiring just how deep a dive this toyline took for a live-action TV series. I can't think of any other TV show that got more toys. You got a 4-inch figure pack of the main guys, a 4-pack of baddies, a car, a plane, a helicopter, a van, a tank and a hydrofoil - all of which came with one of the characters - and a playset (basically a mat with some camping gear and cheap accessories) which also had the main 4 characters in the set. Then you had a 6 inch line with all the characters (including the lady this time), a bike, a chopper and a headquarters. It feels like they did a lot - even if it was lower quality (I can't remember the prices of things, but I'll bet it was cheaper than Joe stuff).

      @Bob Forgot that 12 inch B.A. - he was popular back in the day!

      @TheNightBadger there are two 12 inch BA figures. A regular one and one that talked. There were also a couple of accessory packs for the 12 inch BA figures.

    Did you buy these loose and incomplete? ALL four of the 6-inch A-Team figures had a belt and sported a M16 machine gun with (separate) rubber strap. Hannibal also had the additional M60 with ammo chain that could be inserted into the M60, Face had an Uzi, and Murdock had a grappling hook (which was tied to a string) and binoculars (separate rubber strap as well). B.A. had the tool box (with a separate strap again) with the eight tools (screwdriver, ball peen hammer, wrench, socket wrench, drill case of drill bits, saw, and wire cutters; the hammer you've included is a Lego hammer), and the tray inside. The other three had the same basic harness for their backpack but each of the packs was distinct. Hannibal had grenades/mortar shells in his, Face had a transmitter, and Murdock's was a standard backpack. Amy's figure had Murdock's belt (the hook wasn't for her cell phone, it's for Murdock's grappling hook to be coiled and hung off of), video camera, connecting recorder (with a separate back panel) and rubber cable, and a M-16 strap for the camera (that didn't really work with it).
    In addition to European releases being recolored, there were two releases of the American figures with slightly different head sculpts. The earlier sculpts of Hannibal, Face, and Murdock looked better than the more exagerrated smiles of the later head sculpts.
    The four villains were Cobra, Python, Viper, and Rattler each with corresponding accessories to their A-Team counterparts (Cobra had Hannibal's gear, Python had B.A.'s, Viper had Face's, and Rattler had Murdock's). The body molds not only lacked knee articulation, they also had harder feel to the plastic and much thinner, cheaper hollow heads. Because the figures had slightly larger body molds than the A-Team, the included belts and backpack straps didn't fit most of them. Notably, the quality of the gear on the villains also dropped in quality; the straps had excess rubber on some of them and the weapons were made of softer plastic.
    The three-wheeler came in two variations: one with B.A. included and one without. Because I had B.A. on the card, and never saw the vehicle without the included B.A., I never ended up getting it. I didn't have the gyrocopter either but I did have the warehouse.
    The warehouse had two levels and a functioning elevator. It was constructed from pieces of hard card stock with twelve plastic supports (additional plastic supports for the elevator rails) that the cardboard clipped to. It was a little flimsy if you tried to move it too quickly but was fairly sturdy on a table. The building had a plastic skylight that opened, a table with four oil barrels for chairs (and a cardboard map to place on the table), a computer console (two plastic side pieces with a cardboard surface between them) and plastic stool, four cardboard-constructed crates, a plastic tool bench with attached vice, an antennae on the roof, a working periscope (complete with reflective mirror pieces to insert into it so it functioned as an actual periscope), and the functioning roof crane that could spin and lift/lower. Mine is still in my parents' basement though I believe the cardboard pieces suffered some water and mildew damage when the basement was flooded many years ago.

    I remember in the UK McDonald's was giving 3.5 inch figures away with a Happy Meal when I was a child

    • @tydiriumhanger1320

      I always wished MCDs would put something l that in the happy meals rather than the sorry premiums. Did they have accessories?

      @@tydiriumhanger1320 yes they did from what I can remember. McDonald's was a lot better in the 80s.

    I had the orange version of Face. Was absolutely gutted when my dad just threw on floor and broke. I was crying my eyes out when I was 8 as I really loved that figure. Never forgive him for he did and then soon after felt guilty

    You could get the set of all 4 members in 3 3/4 size for the price of 1 GI Joe figure. But the A Team 3 3/4 size did look cheap.

    • @Robert-nu4vc
      @Robert-nu4vc 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 3 and 3/4 A-Team figures were just Genral Patch figures with retooled head sculpts for the A-Team. They went really cheap on those ones.

    The Galoob A-Team van and Corvette are more expensive because they are Galoob products.

    That's so strange that the 3.75" bad guys are a completely different body style than the A-Team.

    • @tydiriumhanger1320
      @tydiriumhanger1320  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True and they did it with the legs on the 6 inch. They look better without all the articulation though

    • @jameyvella3360
      @jameyvella3360 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not so strange. The Dukes of Hazzard Mego 3.75 toy line had 2 different body types, as did CHIPS and a few others. The 70's and 80's were the wild west when it came to toys.

    • @Robert-nu4vc
      @Robert-nu4vc ปีที่แล้ว

      That was a cost cutting measure. The more articulation, the more it costs to produce. Many toy companies took the cheaper way out when they could.

    We could never find BA. The 3.75 figs are garbage, probably the worst I’ve ever seen. 😂 they kind of ended up as firecracker fodder… 😇
    I seem to remember us using the bigger guys with Karate Kid and the dojo. It was basically a summer fad.
