I have to admit the Commissar vid is one of my personal favourites. :) I hope to get much more dynamic and 'frothy' videos out very soon. Brother Baldermort. I have an unusual question. In the 40k cultural lore, does there exist a....grimoire of Imperium cuisine? For example, everything from the Emperor's favorite dish to what the most humblest Imperium citizen would subsist on?

When I listen to a Baldermort presentation, I have the pervasive sense of being in a lecture hall, in a University on Holy Terra in the first years of M42, and at the head of the hall is Baldermort himself, holding forth on one of the myriad subjects of history, anthropology, astrogeography, xenobiology, Imperial Law and Living Word of The Emperor of Mankind and many more. And I'm absorbing every word. It's incredibly engaging every time I sit in for a different lecture, pulled in by the unique voice from the... im sitting too far back to see clearly... robed figure, but, is it a tall man, older but still hale and unbent, voice clear and powerful. Surely, he was an Iterator, unmatched in the galaxy, but he speaks of these things as one who was there, things 10,000 years gone. There's no man in The Imperium who lives for millennia... is there? See! You get lost in it when you listen to nealy 3 hours straight of Baldermort WH40k content with no break! For The Emperor! I need coffee lol

If GW have an issue, ever email, I will take it down without quibble. But they do not seem to care, so I thought I would share. I see it as advertising their book. The Psychic Awakening entries are all GW, which I just dramatize. They are the exception. All other 'stories' at the start are my own stories. Psychic awakening is the only exception. As soon as the PA is over I do not think I will be doing straight dramatizations anymore. Not sure. The last thing I want to do is effect GW sales.

Mara Caldera yeah. Alas, it’s out of date. All of it. After 33 years GW retconned it all in a new book that was released last month. Depressing doesn’t come close. :). But when it’s out in general I can get it and see exactly what they did then restart. It’s why the emperor run was put on hold. I literally have no idea what they are going to do with it now. :(.

I know you probably disagree, but I kind of dig the tiny errors (and they are tiny). It is what I would imagine someone recounting this tale would be almost required to sound like. How would anyone get through without a shudder or a stuttered word? The details and facts of something like this can be described, but the feeling of horror is indescribable. Speaking of the indescribable will always occur with accents of sanity, so a stutter is nothing more than the expected twang of the foreigner in their second language.
you have a perfect voice to capture the true feel of the 40k universe, why aren't you doing audio books/ dramas. you NEED to do more of these incredible vids. I've become a fan of your work and look forward to see what you cover next.

@Chaos Undivided I have watched a bit of the first one, but I haven t had time to do all three yet as they are quite long. I fully intend to as soon as I get a chance. I also really enjoyed the one with the Sain-Ham wild rider and the white scar biker duelling.
It would be cool if they made a game where you have space combat and ground combat in 40k. Like Battlefleet gothic armada gameplay to breach into a system and siege a planet and then dawn of war 2 gameplay when your forces makes planet fall. I think a blood of baal game like that would be great. Basically like empire at war galactic conquest
Every time the 40k writers put words like dire or grim in their lore it should auto correct to mildly inconvenient because that’s the level of threat here. There’s never a sense the blood angels or their successors are in any actual danger because they never lose. bUt BaAl- doesn’t count because they still won by Roberto ex Girlyman. They don’t even act as though they’re severely damaged by the engagement, sacrificing nonessential worlds to preserve only what they can with what depleted forces they have. It kinda brings down my enjoyment of the lore. Reading is good tho.
Seriously the growth rate is amazing now, its like you passed some sort of algorithmic point and started to gain people exponentially faster, I remember when you had 3k subs only a few months ago!
It was 5 weeks ago. :) But its slowing down again. At one point it was over 400 a day, but not for long. Gone down to 190 odd now. Still rapid, but not as meteoric. Could have been the delay on White Scars I guess. Ah well. :)

Its been so nice having lore thats so in depth i find myself having to re-listen and thats on top of the re-listening i would do anyway and the re-listening i would do because i like the Flower of the marijuana plant which albeit has wonderful positive side effects, increasing ones short term memory is not one them...

There are plenty of lore channels who do the detail a lot better, usually, so I concentrate on mood and motive. Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer you’re an excellent fan and it shows in your reading. Black Library could do a better job of letting us know when books are taking place.

How convenient that a warp rift opened up right before the hive fleet was able to fully disembark on Baal. I get it, it saved the blood angels from certain extinction. I also get that the event is well balanced, tho it saved the blood angels, it also cut off half the galaxy to the wrath of the hive fleets. So the blood angels better do some extra cool shit with all that plot armor 😂

The lictor bits were OK but these books sure do right the nids poorly. They have a grudge, the hive mind end up feeling things and a swarmlord does an action movie monolog instead of just killing.
It seems that the Collectors Edditions include small scale stories, collected in the “Tales from the Great Rift” anthology; not necessarily the conclusion to the main story itself, but standalone stories.

When I listen to a Baldermort presentation, I have the pervasive sense of being in a lecture hall, in a University on Holy Terra in the first years of M42, and at the head of the hall is Baldermort himself, holding forth on one of the myriad subjects of history, anthropology, astrogeography, xenobiology, Imperial Law and Living Word of The Emperor of Mankind and many more. And I'm absorbing every word. It's incredibly engaging every time I sit in for a different lecture, pulled in by the unique voice from the... im sitting too far back to see clearly... robed figure, but, is it a tall man, older but still hale and unbent, voice clear and powerful. Surely, he was an Iterator, unmatched in the galaxy, but he speaks of these things as one who was there, things 10,000 years gone. There's no man in The Imperium who lives for millennia... is there?

Not to my knowledge. But Remliez (40K Theories) postulates that the Hive know a Primarch is on Baal - so is heading there to ingest his DNA for the hives. Scary.

Alas, so. With some of the newer books I had wished to read them then re-word them. But I could not get anything even comparable out, so simply narrated it. If GW have an issue, ever email, I will take it down without quibble. But they do not seem to care, so I thought I would share. I see it as advertising their book. Which I hope you agree, I take a fair bash at trying to do justice.

The Psychic Awakening entries are all GW, which I just dramatize. They are the exception.
All other 'stories' at the start are my own stories. Psychic awakening is the only exception. As soon as the PA is over I do not think I will be doing straight dramatizations anymore. Not sure. The last thing I want to do is effect GW sales.

Mara Caldera yeah. Alas, it’s out of date. All of it. After 33 years GW retconned it all in a new book that was released last month. Depressing doesn’t come close. :).
But when it’s out in general I can get it and see exactly what they did then restart. It’s why the emperor run was put on hold. I literally have no idea what they are going to do with it now. :(.

Aye. The problem with nids is they don’t have named characters, nor can really, that drive narrative. They’re just a bogey man. I have a nid army and it’s always a bit sad that no matter how well a dude does He’ll end up as gloop.
Sigh. I hope they can get a few more lore and fluff ways for ya to get our own heroes. Not likely, but a wish of mine.

I know you probably disagree, but I kind of dig the tiny errors (and they are tiny). It is what I would imagine someone recounting this tale would be almost required to sound like. How would anyone get through without a shudder or a stuttered word? The details and facts of something like this can be described, but the feeling of horror is indescribable.
Speaking of the indescribable will always occur with accents of sanity, so a stutter is nothing more than the expected twang of the foreigner in their second language.

Good Lord, just imagine if she came across the night lords episode. If you haven't heard it, it is my personal favourite of Baldermort's excellent work, but for the love of God keep it away from children. It is sinister beyond description - it figuratively makes my skin crawl.
@Chaos Undivided I have watched a bit of the first one, but I haven t had time to do all three yet as they are quite long. I fully intend to as soon as I get a chance. I also really enjoyed the one with the Sain-Ham wild rider and the white scar biker duelling.
It would be cool if they made a game where you have space combat and ground combat in 40k. Like Battlefleet gothic armada gameplay to breach into a system and siege a planet and then dawn of war 2 gameplay when your forces makes planet fall. I think a blood of baal game like that would be great. Basically like empire at war galactic conquest

Every time the 40k writers put words like dire or grim in their lore it should auto correct to mildly inconvenient because that’s the level of threat here. There’s never a sense the blood angels or their successors are in any actual danger because they never lose. bUt BaAl- doesn’t count because they still won by Roberto ex Girlyman. They don’t even act as though they’re severely damaged by the engagement, sacrificing nonessential worlds to preserve only what they can with what depleted forces they have.
It kinda brings down my enjoyment of the lore. Reading is good tho.

Seriously the growth rate is amazing now, its like you passed some sort of algorithmic point and started to gain people exponentially faster, I remember when you had 3k subs only a few months ago!

But its slowing down again. At one point it was over 400 a day, but not for long. Gone down to 190 odd now. Still rapid, but not as meteoric. Could have been the delay on White Scars I guess. Ah well. :)

Its been so nice having lore thats so in depth i find myself having to re-listen and thats on top of the re-listening i would do anyway and the re-listening i would do because i like the Flower of the marijuana plant which albeit has wonderful positive side effects, increasing ones short term memory is not one them...

There are plenty of lore channels who do the detail a lot better, usually, so I concentrate on mood and motive. I love the necrons and try to champion some of the factions that do not get the limelight as much. To me, its not the grimdark without each and every single one of them. They all deserve their time center-stage.

How convenient that a warp rift opened up right before the hive fleet was able to fully disembark on Baal. I get it, it saved the blood angels from certain extinction. I also get that the event is well balanced, tho it saved the blood angels, it also cut off half the galaxy to the wrath of the hive fleets. So the blood angels better do some extra cool shit with all that plot armor 😂

The lictor bits were OK but these books sure do right the nids poorly. They have a grudge, the hive mind end up feeling things and a swarmlord does an action movie monolog instead of just killing.
It seems that the Collectors Edditions include small scale stories, collected in the “Tales from the Great Rift” anthology; not necessarily the conclusion to the main story itself, but standalone stories.
