P.S. - Check out Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus, it's great! Only a bit easy once your priests get some black hole weapons. Managed to one-shot the last boss in the game, so yeah.

It's when you learn about the Grey Knights, you also truly understand the implications of the warp;
For a grey knight to be untouchable, he must get rid of his name and his previous life, to become essentially the weapon of the Emperor, because a human that still hold strong feelings about certain things in his life, will eventually be visited by the whispers of Chaos. So the only way to be pure is to not be human at all, which is the ultimate irony of the imperium as the defenders of "humanity".
You would think that was a form of corruption already. And from everything I learn about the Emperor, that seems what he does to humanity; Strips it of it's essence in the name of it's purity. Whether intentional or not.
The messed up thing with chaos is that the chaos gods have also good aspects to them but since negative emotions empower them more it's not just rejecting them for what they are but more so what they want. Grey knights know this and maybe that's also one of if not the biggest reason they don't fall to chaos because to accept it is to make yourself less by giving in to excess and contradiction and an existence that amounts to no meaning. The chaos gods are really just reality parasites due to achieving consciousness
@@inthefade It's definitely intentional... because otherwise if you didn't have the conviction to strip mankind down and take its most terrible parts to turn against the enemy mankind would have been wiped out in the 40k universe.

Why do you think they’re no longer humans? They still have emotions (fear, for example), they still have echos of memories of their past, and they still have a measure of volition. They’re still human, albeit incredibly unique and powerful ones.

The most amazing piece of information about the Grey Knights is that in the ten thousand long existence of their order not even a single one of them ever fell to the temptations of the Ruinous Powers.
Too much Chaos corruption can kill them though and the Grey Knights lose Astartes like melted butter
Doombreed alone would have slaughtered most of the Grey Knights and Inquisition Scions before being banished
Although there is a story somewhere about a Grey Knight who was trapped in the Warp and sought to strike a definite blow against one of the four Chaos Gods and chose Slaanesh,as they were the weakest of the four. The knight made it all the way to Slaanesh theirself before finally crumbling under the temptation and kneeling to the Chaos God. From thence on he was known as the Silver Knight. Also Slaanesh had taken the form of an extremely androgynous man,essentially a femboy,to tempt him

This quote has some real weight to it, for as far as I know, grey knights are the only ones capable of permanently killing chaos entities.
Anyone else kills a warp entity, and it's just banished back into the warp. Grey knights however tear their souls apart and burn them to ash.

Grey Knights and Adeptus Custodes will always be my favorite. I remember when the Grey Knights first released all those years ago, nearly two decades. Big, heavy and metal models that were very expensive. Worth every penny.
Probably my to this date favorite series. Insanely inspirational how ever strange this sounds. But having the mental strength of a greyknight translated to 2020 human life has become somewhat of a mission for me.

The Grey Knights are just awesome in every way. This reminds me of the Warhammer Space Marine game where Captian Titus is taken by the Inquisition. In my mind I was fully expecting the Grey Knights to take an interest in him. Due to his incorruptible spirt against the forces of Chaos. Maybe one day we will se a sequel however unlikely.

They would've had to be present in order to take an interest. Gotta remember it's not Star Wars style FTL or FTLCOM, that lets you talk in real time across the Galaxy or cross it in days or hours. Meanwhile the inquisition was already involved on the planet, explaining their near presence. That's good writing imo. Don't teleport people arbitrarily. Being inducted into the grey knights afterward makes perfect sense

The true paradoxon goes deeper. To be excellent one must go through hard training. And afterwards one can excel. The heavier the training the greater the excellence. But if longer and gheavier training means greater excellence is finishing the training not a vice? Should one not strive to achieve the highest excellence possible?
@@ffejpsycho It's eye rolling how so many chapters go about their own "Special" training regime, whenever you read about ANY training regime, it's all about how it's going to break the weak. Then a new chapter comes along and it's emphasis is entirely on breaking the weak.

@@josephpa05 there are sanctioned psychers who work for the Imperium, but its still strictly outlawed for a pleb citizen. If someone is found with psychic powers they are killed on site by the common populace,taken to Holy Terra for their unique nutritional value the emperors diet needs on a daily basis, trained as inquisitors or an inquisitors play thing(a body to contain demons,psychic battery,for experiments,sacrifice) and at last(for the less imaginative) trained to support the Astra Militarum.

the grey knights always make me think of the scp foundation and what they may be like a thousand years in the future (and how they are depicted in relation to some keter threats) the dedication and sacrifice needed to fight horrors of this magnitude are immense

Just started getting into 40K lore and about to get my first set (going with first strike because I think Space marines and the Plague bois are both cool as hell) but gotta say so far the Grey Knights are my favorite army in terms of lore and design.
Honestly. Probably the best 40K channel on TH-cam. Amazing production quality, semi-regular uploads doesn't repeat himself and keeps the script varied enough to keep you interested even when talking about subjects you already have heard of.
I just wish you would cover bits of the lore I hadn't heard of yet XD

Nah Titus is already doesn't cut it since as far as I can tell he's not a psyker and while he's resistant to the Ruinous powers he can be affected by them (But seriously fuck you Blue boy scout leandros for clutching your daddy's book too much). Not to mention he's already transformed and added a geneseed by the Ultramarines.

Yep, Britain is where Games Workshop is based, so that makes the most sense. Indeed, in the old White Dwarf magazines from the 1990s, the Imperial Palace - Earth's capital - was shown to be in Nottingham (i.e. where Games Workshop's company headquarters are), but I guess in more recent years they have retconned that to the Himalayas?

You know, I do wonder why do the grey knights don’t simply go for ally and enemy when in battle. Considering anyone witnessing them in combat is apparently condemned, one would think it’d be easier to kill them while in battle rather than after.
I think the way the whole - everyone gets executed or mind wiped thing is a little extreme tbh. For one Grey Knights are very few, so likely rarely seen. If they are then depending on who it is they may be sworn to secrecy if its say an Astartes or Mind wiped etc. Killing is probably just for the plebs. There is more to it though than just - have you seen them, I explain this more in detail in Part 2.

Yeah as usual people always read things as being definitive, its a bit more grey than that and it sounds as if it happens all the time but it would actually be a fairly rare occurrence imo
@@Tacoguy1000 A quick peek (I'm coming back for part two myself, this being the only second video I've seen of theirs) from what I understand it, is that killing is usually a last resort, and that mind wiping is usually the status quo. If there's no time/resources for a wipe, then killing. If they're too important for those (because of the knowledge that could be risked by the mind wipe or the disarray caused by killing). then they're brought into the fold of those rare few who definitely know about them. There are exceptions, but I'll let Luetin09 cover those.
Lead Paintchips You know, that is interesting to know. I was told the mind wipe was the exception as opposed as the norm. If that’s really the case, then it gives credence to their quote about bringing hope to the faithful.
Grey knight's have always been my favourite faction. In a world of ridiculously op beings, they stand above.
