My big tom cat likes to lay over my shoulder and nuzzle in my hair and gives me his deep-chested purr in my ear. It's good for calming anxiety - for him and for me! Gotta love dat boy!

my cat, Peanut, is now 20 years old. I used to be really firm about food for her, no fish at all in fact as advised by her vet. however now that she is in her 21st year I let her eat what she wants; and as she has lost teeth this is sea food smashed down to mush. she can still jump onto the washing machine and my bed but that is now as high as it goes. she has always been an indoor cat, which apparently is why she is relatively healthy especially for her age. I doubt she will be around for much longer but for now she is still my loud, really LOUD, furbaby so is extremely spoilt. love these videos of your two, cats are beyond special (and a bit scary too - right)!

I remember when I got my cat a puzzle feeder.
He sniffed it once, gave me a dirty look, and then pointedly sat down next to his bowl and yowled until I relented.
My cat has bad allergies to grasses etc, so he can no longer be walked outside on a leash. However, i live in a condo so he can hang out on the balcony all day if he wants

You should get one of those GPS collars for him/her, it's super interesting to see where your cat has been.
I've got a cat like that! She's 15 years old, and can go missing for days at a time, especially during the summer. Then she'll show up a couple days later like nothing's happened.
Maybe she deals some catnip with the other cats around the street. xD
Imo cats should be free to run around as they please. If you treat them well, they will always come back.

As long as the cat can handle itself, and the area is relatively safe, then there is usually no problem with letting cats roam about outdoors. Obviously, there still exist some risks, but it makes the cats happy, they get more exercise, and it is overall pretty healthy for them.

Literally, the only thing I have to do to make my cat happy, is get a box. Doesn't matter how small or big, she will spend hours inside of it.

I know this is a year ago video, but just wanted to say that I think you keep Cole and Marmalade happy every day and night. They are very lucky to have you as parents ... it really shows in the videos how much you love them/they love you from your posts on you tube.
I don't let my cat outside cause I am worried if I put them outside they will get fleas or get lost :/
My cat was a stray before we adopted him, and as my parents don't let him inside, he's still an outside cat. He knows how to handle himself when he goes for a walk so we trust him :)
The fleas, well, it's true they have a bigger tendency to get them, but we take him regularly to the vet and are always checking up on him, so he's completely clean and happy because he loves to play outside ^^
The only bad thing I see about he going for walks on his own is that he can go get food where he's not supposed to :\
+Metzil My cat once got food where he wasn't supposed to, our neighbor's mouse cage, in her apartment! The little burglar brought it home gashed but still alive, as if he were some great "hunter". We snatched it from him. My girlfriend being the brain she is, recognized that the mouse was not wild because it was white. She found the owner but she said if we wanted to we could keep it which was weird but whatever. So we nursed it back to health and kept it. It made a full recovery and my girlfriend named it "Snack". She bought a clear plastic hamster ball so Snack could run freely around the apartment while my cat could do nothing but watch and mope XD!

breakfast in bed? my kitty does give me the 'claw of death' in the morning. which is a gentle paw. And I get up and give her catmilk and fav wetfood, whiskas and seafood combination. And I have to plate it nicely, like Gordon Ramsay would. But not in bed!

Cole & Marmalade are obviously very happy cats. Cat owners need to devote a lot of time to caring for their cats. We have 3 and Pebbles is 19,years old but in good shape for her age, apart from arthritis, which she is treated for. Thanks for the video.

MsRainbow Brite My cats are indoor cats. So I had a nice covered back porch made with wire fencing to keep my cats protected. And a screen door on one side so I can go into my small backyard. They love being outside in the fresh air and watching the birds at my bird feeder.
Yes, cats are really keen on exploring and can jump fences! It's nice when they always find their way home but it's safer with the pet fence.

YES, unless you have a fence surrounding your yard that you cat can't get through then you should get a leash and harness for your cat or cats
harnesses are better as it wouldnt hurt because it isnt tugging on their neck. this is if you need to pull them away from something.

Yes. It is normal for cats to do different things. Like going outside. She/He might be scared at first so that is why 30 seconds later she/he does that. Different cats also have different interests.
Agreed...we have Four cats...all are allowed out....three go out and stick close by...the fourth...My "Shadow" prefers to wait until I go out as well...she likes to sit out on the Front Step with me.....Usually her Brother and Sisters will join us there after as well!...Like Human Kids...they Each have their "own Purrsonality"!...lol

I guarantee you that if you dragged a string around, slooowly made it "disapperar" around a corner, your cat would come racing after it to see where it went. It drives them nuts! Or drag a string/ribbon so it slowly "disappears" under a pillow. Both of these work every time! I say this as someone who works as a cat sitter; I have yet to meet a cat (no matter how old they are, how shy they are, if their hoomin says they "don't really play") who doesn't love a string!

From my experience it seems to be the other way around most of the time. I find that cats that have been moms at least once are extremely chill.

It differs from cat to cat. I've had plenty of both sexes and they're always different. The older my cats have gotten though the less they like to be around people for some reason. But that's why I built them little hideaways when they've had enough people time.

My sweet calico daughter Magdalene (Maggie for short) loves to meow and purr with them. I put your videos on speaker so she can hear. She always starts pawing the phone when she hears them.

I was allergic to cats all my life and I had a bad asthma as a kid but I wanted to adopt one so much that I ended up with a cat and allergy but overtime my body adapted and it dissappeared.

Outdoor cats have a much higher rate of death. Dogs, wolves/coyotes, large birds of prey, feral and stray cats, cars, diseases, fleas, etc. Pretty easy to research why it's healthier and safer to keep them indoor only, or inside with outside on a leash/harness. :)
you can't retain them from living their lives. you yourself have much higher chance of dying with any activity you do outside your house yet you still do it because you want to enjoy life. my cats have always gone outside freely and one died last year aged 21. i have another one 13 years old still alive and healthy and a young female who in summer almost spends her entire time outside and is currently 3. your argument is invalid. you need to let the cats live their life at full.

can you not get random facts out of your ass please? they only on average live about 2 to 3 years less than indoor cats but its worth for the life they live. i have a friend with an indoor cat and it can't do fuck all whilst my cats are experiencing the outside world. from experience all our cats have always been outdoor cats and they all live long healthy lives. i can repeat that my cat died at 21 and lived his entire life as an outdoor cat. my dads cats all went outside too and so far out of around 10 cats only 1 has ever not died from old age

my cats gonna have a great time this spring when the flies start sneaking in. Recently it got a little warm and a big one got in, she spent about 2 hours hunting it before she finally wore it out, cornered it and gulped it down. I was laughing so hard, she looked so very proud

I live on the 3rd floor in a flat and I have a cat. He has plenty of room to have fun and he needs to stay indoors (kidneys and urinary tract problems, needs special food). How can I tell if he's happy? He sits right next to me purring so loud my mom can hear it from her room :)

It's a safety thing...people are very protective of their cats lol. I have a few cats that I no longer let out because they got in too much trouble and injured themselves..and I still have two that can be trusted to go outside and stay safe. Just depends on your cat and where you live. :)

I personally keep my cats inside because where we live, there's a lot of feral cats and coyotes around, and the cars that go down the road are going dangerously fast (it's the middle of nowhere and there's no speed limit on our road). There's also lots more bugs and things that could harm them. I want my babies to be safe. :)
