I think this is my favourite so far, such a classic piece of our current times! Thank you so much for your videos, they are so inspiring you have no idea! I appreciate how genuine you are, SO REFRESHING! Seeing your life, your partner at work, your cute doggies, your house, life on the pond… it’s all so endearing and comforting ❤
I really loved reading your comment! I'm glad the genuineness is worthwhile, I feel bad sometimes about sharing my lower energy moments. 😅 Life on the pond is pretty fun to share though, thank you so much for the kindness. 💛
i really love how you put "mixing colors is half of my day" when literally today when working on a piece i had a whole "crisis" abt how i'm too lazy to mix paints and end up with a linear mix (like blue-purple-pink) because its quick and easy to get to look good 😭 i admire your patience and commitment!!!!
wow you did it.... it's done. and it captures a slice of time and place that i think we can all connect with. your process and your vlogs are such a pleasure to watch for me (a wannabe artist)!! your time and committment to your work is admirable. btw, i was also captivated by the painting behind you of the woman lying down. gorgeous piece of work too. keep painting girl, you are incredibly talented and i wish you so much success. -- francesca
What a wonderful piece! It turned out beautifully. 🤗 I love those reflections!! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and process with us. You’ve inspired me to try a more difficult painting. I’m so excited to start on it! You rock! 🤩🙌
Maria, stay strong, your vlog is my favorite, you are genuine, hard working, and you seem to be very patient. I think I get that you don't see this period of time as being as useful as recently.... but wow that painting is great. I think you will find spring around the corner like the rest of us. I hope you have a great 2 weeks, do lots, get re-inspired to paint and see a sudden sunny day and truly feel blessed and chirping like the birds do lol. Stay strong you two. Dave from Canada
I do see this period as useful and positive, I'm really happy with what I'm doing, it's a constant journey. And I'm definitely enjoying the sunshine this morning, thank you. :)
I really love the sense of depth in that painting! Good job! Your statement about anything worth doing should be done slowly reminds me of something an old art teacher used to tell us: "Drawing is not race car driving." On another note, I see you guys have coyotes in your part of the world. When I was a child coyotes were unheard of here, but now they're everywhere. I live right down town and we see them in the city too.
We hear coyotes at night quite often but I don't see them too much, so it's kinda fun when I do! Glad the depth came across in the painting, that's always a goal of mine. Thanks for your thoughts and sharing that quote, art definitely takes time!
Bravo 👏, this painting truly catch my attention , I like how you captured that momentum in life in combination with the detailed environment and made it special . The colour scheme emphasizes the 'painters eye' . If I hear you talking about the process , not only the technical aspect but the whole story indirectly it always give me the craving /the longing to go to my studio and start working so thanks for that . I like your idea of making a 'colourfull' work to get through 'the last mile' of winter ✊👊
I appreciate that Debora, I think I pushed myself this time with color and doing things a little differently, scary but fun for sure. I really should spend more time sharing the story of my pieces, it's enjoyable for me too. I hope you also have some colorful work to carry you into spring! 💛
Thank you very much for your honesty. I think it is brave that you show us the process wizh ups and downs, with satisfaction and struggle, which is , for me, the reality of the painter‘s real life. There is so much mystery often all around the creative process, it is refreshing that someone you can so much relate to is a painter, and such a talented one. I love your paintings, the relationship between people and space is reslly wonderful. A little bit of Hopper, but more realistic, something Vermeer, some American fotorrealism, but in your one style, which is genuine. Go on!
I'm having a rough week so I've read over your comment a few times to cheer me up. Thank you for watching and seeing the best in what I'm trying to make. I love your perspective on my art style as well! 💛
According to Tom Sachs ‘the reward for good work is more work.’ A million people have said something along those lines, AND I GET THAT! It is so releiving to finish a painting, to see it finished, and be at peace for a moment. But then the boulder rolls down the mountain again, and you know the only thing you can do is enjoy the view while walking down and once you’re there, start pushing it up again. You know the next thing to do is the same thing you’ve always done: to paint. But damn, starting a new painting is so much fun!! I love the details in the little objects: the blender, the cups, the phone, these messy cables behind the screens, the reflection on the counter,… everything adds value to the end result. You killed it with the straight lines as well, on the tiles, the windows, the counters,… Good painting Maria! Good video as well!! Take care, Thuban.
So happy you enjoyed all the little objects, those are always fun for me to figure out. And yes, boulder pushing never ends, I'm just lucky I like my boulder. 😂 Thank you so much Thuban!
OK. Now what do I do? I’ve come to the end of binging your channel. You’ve inspired me in many ways, and taught me a lot of things that I didn’t know about painting. Trying to learn on my own with TH-cam has been less than successful. But now I feel after watching your work and process that I can take a new direction. Maybe I can finally overcome my fear and hesitation, and start my next painting. I have lots of questions about how to proceed, but I’ll leave them for later. We are almost through the winter, so I hope spring brings better days. Take care of yourself, Maria
I love this painting! I'm currently working on recreating of one of Saint Augustine's portraits by Philippe de Champaigne; and your personal reflections have inspired me to enjoy the learning process by changing my perspective. Thank you for sharing your lovely work :)) Un abrazo desde México
Sounds lovely! I'm a fan of St.Augustine, I'll have to look up the portraits of him. I'm glad the reflections have been helpful. Muchas gracias Lizy! 💛

I totally get in those moods! I try to take a break then, but there's nothing wrong with a simple mix either! 😁

Thank you Francesca! Thats uplifting for me to hear. And I agree that's a fantastic painting, still waiting for Ivan to finish that one!

Yay! I hope the painting goes well, a good challenging is always so satisfying. Thank you 😊
I'm glad the painting finally came together!
Me too!

It has been liberating to see the process of how art is created, I like your style.
I'm happy to hear that! Thank you. 😁
There is a wealth of painting ideas in your content. I love the fox in the yard.
Oh good! Yeah the fox was neat! It's great that the videos have some visual inspiration for others too. 👍🏻

I'm really happy you see it as beautiful, and you are very welcome. 💛
7:05 that is so relatable! 😂
It's always a good day when Maria posts! 😁
Why are we such workaholics 😅 someone needs to teach me how to be easygoing!

The way you rendered the light and glass surfaces in this painting is very luminous 😍 And loved seeing how big the banana plant is getting!
Thank you, I really am addicted to those kind of surfaces! 😅 Mr. banana tree has grown so much, I'm loving it too!
Your new painting is amazing! You are so talented! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, I'll keep at it! 😁
"mixing colors is half my day" is so relatable! I need a t-shirt with that on it 😉 Thanks for sharing! Love your work!
Thank you Annette! Oh it's definitely t-shirt worthy! 😂

I hope your new direction works out well! Glad the videos could be of some help. :)
Your painting makes me realise how important details and patience are ! And I love its bright colours as well
Patience and a whole lot of self acceptance are the only way I get through it all 😅 Thank you!
Beautiful work Maria 👏🏻
Thank you! 😊
That's a beautiful painting! I love your work and your process.
I appreciate that, thank you! 😊
Ciao, sto guardando questo video dall'Italia. I tuoi video e i tuoi quadri sono bellissimi. Complimenti

Awesome! Thanks!
You do incredible work....what tablet do you use?
Thank you, I use an iPad pro to look at my references.
@@mariasisul Thank you.
Whew! Another one bites the dust!
I love this piece so much! Also, where is your easel from?? Did you make it? It looks so sturdy!
Thank you! It's an A-frame easle, I think my boyfriend bought it from Blick originally! 😊
Painting is your superpower.
Thank you! It's a pretty cool superpower 😁
Congratulations! I'm curious if the girl in the picture knows that the picture is completed?
Not aware at all, but hopefully I can change that :)
🖤👏
