    Thanks, it worked. Now my aftermarket bluetooth adapter turns off with the car and I don't have to worry about my phone staying paired and also draining the battery. Thanks again.

    This is genius, great video. Can't wait to try it.
    I have a 2022 Ram truck and I believe my dashcam and radar detector are killing my battery because of the 12V outlet. I am fairly sure. It is drawing about 4-5amps when the truck is shutoff - I cannot understand why but thats what it is. I am going to Lowes and getting some wire to try this myself. Hopefully, it will stop the battery drain

    Would this work with keyless ignition? I hate that the 12v outlets on my 2013 Ford Explorer and 2017 Ford Escape have power all the time, yet that is not the case with my 2016 Nissan Rogue.

    Hi Mohammed, I was about to do the same thing in my car but the concern I have is are all empty or not empty spots on fuses box are able to tolerate 20 Amp ? I am using a dashcam and 120 v inverter.

    • @jmohammed4936
      @jmohammed4936  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi
      I'm not sure I could help with that but ur best chance is to find a spot that already has a 20 or more amps fuse and work on that

    Hi man, really thanks a lot for the tutorial but I'm wondering, how did u get the "half" fuse? Did u buy it or did u break it? (If broken, how much ampere was it and does is have to be broken a special/specific way)? Hope you can help me out :)

    • @jmohammed4936
      @jmohammed4936  ปีที่แล้ว

      the half fuse is only required to make sure the wire doesn't fall out
      just cut any fuse in half
      or use a burnt out fuse

      A wire thats rated for at least 20a. 4mm cable which is (i think) roughly 8 gague in yank terms. 8 gague can carry 24a

    How to figure out which side of fuse is connected to battery and the other side to aux device....IF you do not have battery nearby for multimeter negative connection or wire positive connection. Eg my battery is in front and the fuse box in trunk.

    • @jmohammed4936
      @jmohammed4936  ปีที่แล้ว

      use a long wire from the battery all the way to the trunk to do the test, thats the only way I can think of.

    • @myselfdemon

      @@jmohammed4936 thanks for the reply. I have another issue now. :-)... Tried to push multimeter leads in and now the fuse won't stay in and fall out.
      Btw I checked many slots using wire to make a complete connection. Ones marked unused or in use for audio or sound, nothing was able to light up lighter slot with or without ignition/engine on.
      I am just hoping to solve the loose fuse slot issue without changing the whole fusebox. I tried putting in a metal piece, it worked but it was a ugly solution, trying to make it hold the fuse by itself somehow.

    • @jmohammed4936

      if they are not connected to each other already, then better to make 3 separate connections

    • @jmohammed4936
      @jmohammed4936  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you probably have to do 3, but it depends if they are all connected to 1 fuse or 3 separate fuses

    If your cigarette lighter is killing your battery then you need a new battery

    • @AbuPaul
      @AbuPaul 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, but this is not what this is about. It's the dashcams that stay on when the car is parked, and do NOT work when the car is started due to overheating, memory full, or they mess up with the phone app.

      I'm actually looking at this to reverse engineer it on my car... I'm wiring it up so the lighter stays on at all times so my phone can charge when I leave it in the car and I'm not driving.

    • @Ditmanppi
      @Ditmanppi ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s not the cigarette lighter per se by itself it’s if you have a charger in there and forget to unplug it when you turn off the car. I can confirm it doesn’t take a whole lot of charging something with the car off to start causing problems.
